If you like a quiet, private, gracious and comfortable home to stay in, as we do, this is the place for you! It is close to many great attractions of the region (e.g. Bayeau, WWII Beaches, Mont St-Michele, Honfleur etc.) The setting along the river, with its weeping willows, patio, gardens etc. makes it a lovely respite. If you don't want to tour, you can walk, or bike or paddle in the river or just relax with a book. The house is wonderfully appointed, tastefully decorated and both spacious and cozy. In the fall, the turning leaves and fireplace add delight. Just as special as the house is the owner, Claudine, who is unobtrusive but instantly available to solve any problem (e.g. in our case, a dead car battery) and is dedicated to your pleasant holiday stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

A beautiful, wellmaintained stone cottage where I, my husband and 3 friends spent a wonderful holiday, enjoying the the house and garden - and the sights (Bayeux tapestry, the Caen Memorial Museum, The American cemetery for soldiers from the 2nd World War, Mont St. Michel). The area is full of interesting historical sights, and in between the sightseeing you can relax in the house by the river Orne and the beautiful, private and wellkept garden with the wonderful terrace - perfect for a barbecue,We would certainly consider renting this house again.- and have already recommended it to some friends. You really feel at home in this charming and well equipped house.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Many thanks for the review of the so kind danish families." They will consider renting this house again " is really the best compliment they can offer to me. That will be a pleasure to welcome them again .

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed your heavenly cottage!! The garden and river were stunning! It looked like a photo straight from Better Homes and Gardens! It was a very easy drive to all the D-Day beaches and to Mont St. Michel! All so amazing! Your friend Anne-Marie was very nice and informative! We really miss it there and wish we could have stayed the whole summer!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.
Owner response: I hope to see you for another stay . The cottage will be yours at any time . I'm so happy you feel like at home , and have a relaxing time

We have just spent a week in this lovely house, enjoying the peaceful riverside location, the extensive garden and some of Normandy's most interesting sites. The house is very well equipped and decorated to a high standard. The owner was very helpful and did everything to ensure that we felt at home. Good local roads so only 35 minutes drive to the landing beaches and Honfleur in about 50 minutes. The weather was mixed but on a couple of chilly evenings it was lovely to light the fire and watch the river go by - look out for the coypu in the river as dusk falls! Thoroughly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers.
Owner response: I try to make the cottage confortable , howewer the weather can be ,( we are in normandy !...) and offer to my hosts the possibility to enjoy a fresh evening around the fire place , hearing music , or watching a film on the TV, jut like at home . Every time I see the 2"Coypou" along the River, I'm thinking of this so kind family from London .I didn't know the english name of these ragondins, that are called now " Coypou"

Owner info
About the owner: I'm retired, and a grand mother . I'm living alone, and my favorite pastime is to take care of my garden. I have 2 daughters, and 4 little children , and I enjoy visiting them.
Why the Owner Chose Caen:
I fell in love with this cottage, and its setting, because it was totally alone , along the river, exposed to the sun from the sunrise to the sunset. So, the first thing I did , was to open large windows to let the light in and the sun to get in through.
It is no to far from all amenities, and it is easy to the beaches, or to Caen.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
I like loneliness, and after a stay near by my daughters , or after a travel, it's a real pleasure to come back home , and enjoy the calm and the beauty of the setting.
