1 Block from the Beach, 2 Blocks from Seaside: Driftwood Inn

Driftwood Inn is a family-owned house secluded by palm and oak trees on a double lot within easy walking distance of the beach and the small victorian-style village of Seaside, Florida.
There are many attractive sights and experiences within
minutes of the area. To the east is Panama City and west, Destin, both old-Florida cities which have grown up, with docks, harbors, fishing piers, etc. living side by side with shopping malls, outlets, restaurants, a Gulfarium and other tourist amenities.
To the north is Choctawhatchee Bay, an ecologically significant area known for its salt water marshes, creeks, and wildlife which includes hundreds of species of fish, birds, and others including dolphins, ospreys, and a thriving population of (not to be feared) alligators.
And of course to the south, the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: Back in the sixties when the highways were two lanes, gas was 35 cents a gallon, and the cars were as big as tuna boats, Buford and Katherine Tucker (pictured) and kids would always head due south from our home in Birmingham Alabama, to the Florida beaches for vacation. Fifty years later, after saving for the dream of owning our own place there, we still haven't found a better place to go - the southern coast of France not being within our budget.
Why the Owner Chose Seagrove by the Sea:
The area surrounding Seagrove Beach is a great mix of old Florida with its huge shady trees and sand roads in contrast to adjacent Seaside with its story-book look of victorian houses, white picket fences and cobblestone streets. You can wear your shorts and tee shirt to a beer and oyster establishment, or dress up (shorts and polo-shirt) and go to the best 4 star restaurant and eat the freshest seafood you've ever had.
The name of the annual catamaran race from Seagrove Beach to Seaside is appropriately called the Rags to Riches Rally.
Somehow it all co-exists and makes sense. Seagrove is kind of Jimmy Buffett, and Seaside maybe a little Kenny G.
