  My husband and I spent a week in this fabulous place. It was beautiful, comfortable and felt like home before we knew it. The accomodations are everything, and more than you could of asked for. We even had local friends out for a BBQ and they enjoyed the cabin and location as much as we did. Thanks for offering the ultimate place for us to stay while visiting Dubois. We will be returning to this relaxing place every time we return to Dubois in the future.

  We chose to stay in Dubois to get away from the crowds in yellowstone and are glad we did! The cabin was spotlessly clean, and completely updated. The views out every window were great and we saw deer visiting the yard and caught a few fish. Dubois is a small town that still retains it's old fashioned charm. And the red-rocks and painted hills south of town are worth seeing too. All in all you can't go wrong staying at the cabin on the wind....

  My husband and I stayed in this cabin for a week. We headed to Yellowstone on two different days and to the Tetons/Jackson two other days. It is a long trip but the drive is beautiful. I never tired of the scenery. The other days we relaxed at the cabin, spending the afternoons in Dubois. The cabin is so roomy and relaxing. Loved the huge kitchen! We made a great choice when we decided to stay at the cabin on the Wind River!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

  We stayed at Cabin on the Wind for a week. Not surprising it gets a 5 star rating. The house was spotless and the furnishings were way more than we expected, very comfortable and more modern than cabin like. The location was steps from the river and the views were every direction. The seating by the river is perfect for relaxing and reading a book or fishing for 22" rainbow trout! The site seeing in the Dubois area was as good as anything in the park without the crowds. After two day in Yellowstone we explored the little town of Dubois and never went back to the park.This is a undiscovered part of Wyoming that offers the best fishing I have ever seen. We caught almost a hundred trout in about 4 hours.We got very lucky with Cabin on the Wind and will be planning our next trip this winter. Hopefully for more than a week.

  The cabin was excellent. It was located at a very good location, right on the river. It was close to town and yet still out in the country. Very centrally located for all the activities that we did. On top of the location, the cabin was beautiful. Many amenities, although not necessary they were an added bonus. Lots of abundant wildlife around too. We liked it so much, we may go back next year. The owner was very helpful on answering any questions we had. Thanks for a great stay!

  Owner response: Were glad you enjoyed The Cabin On the Wind. Our properties are all on the river with mountain views and trees. Not creeks that are sometimes called rivers. Our properties are all West of town in prime riverfront areas. The properties we offer are not mobil or modular homes parading as log cabins. We have the real thing.

  My wife and our kids came up to get out of the city and what an experience. Waking up to the sound of the river, birds chirping and moose in the backyard! The cabin was great, everything was clean and updated. Very close to town and not far at all to famous Jackson Hole, well worth the trip. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away and want the true nature experience.

• Relaxing and Fun!

  We loved the cabin!! It was a great location...close enough to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone for day trips (1 1/2 hrs away, one way) and a beautiful drive along the Togwotee Pass! The cabin had all the comforts of home and loved the high ceilings! We enjoyed the enormous kitchen for cooking and also grilling and having meals on the porch. We also loved the convenience of fishing right outside the door! Wind River Canyon was a beautiful 2 1/2 drive to Thermopolis.We can't wait to come back! Next time we plan to raft the Wind River Canyon! You couldn't ask for a more beautiful area to be in for fishing, hiking, horseback riding, viewing wildlife and more! Thanks for absolutely everything~It was one of our most memorable vacations!!

  The Cabin on the Wind River was a terrific landing spot for our family getaway to the Wyoming outdoors. The lack of tourist crowds made this perfect for experiencing a real sence of the great vastness and diversity of this area. The cabin was very updated and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the surroundings. David, the owner was very helpful before our arrival, answering all my questions. This cabin is a nice, scenic ride to parks and activities. The people of Dubois were all terrific and helpful. You have to try the pie at Cowboy Cafe, absolutely wonderful.

When we first saw The Cabin on the Wind with its great location and roaring riverfront we saw it as a way to let others enjoy the area.   We stayed for over a week and every day it was so peaceful and quiet! Kids caught fish using worms since the river was still high. Cabin is close to multiple National Forest accesses allowing for easy hiking, lake fishing, and 4 wheeling. Accommodations were very comfortable and clean. Even with two teenagers, the owner allowed a cot, so there was plenty of sleeping room for the 4 of us. Cabinets and closets were plentiful to store all our clothes. The garage/workshop was a special bonus - we were able to set up the fishing gear and store the empty coolers etc without crowding the house. Thanks for the great stay!

  Owner response: Half the Town of Dubois is asking where your 20 inch trout was caught. Some have guessed Cabin on the Wind. Im very glad you enjoyed your stay. It really is a cabin with a location that is hard to find. Where do you get Wind River Frontage and mountain views from every window and fishing on your own private stretch of river.   CABIN WAS TOP OF THE LINE. NEW EVERYTHING. THE RIVER RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BACK DOOR WAS THE HIGHLIGHT. THE DUBOIS AREA OFFERS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. THE BEST WILDLIFE VIEWING AND FISHING WE HAVE EVER SEEN. THE LITTLE TOWN HAD SO MUCH TO DO AND SEE. WE LOVED THE RIVER WALK AND MUSEUMS. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS CABIN WITH ITS FANTASTIC LOCATION TO ANYONE.
