The Bonnie Bungalow is located in a quiet, leafy, close-knit neighborhood of historic, early 20th century bungalow homes, many built during the Arts & Crafts period. Tucked in the deep shade of the California Oaks that line its streets is a little bit of paradise awaiting you. The Bonnie Bungalow is a Craftsman-style house built in 1911 and known as a California bungalow. The architecture reflects a movement away from ornate Victorian sensibilities to simpler structures in harmony with nature through the use of materials such as river rock and redwood shingles, and by including wide verandas and expansive windows. This Bungalow is a historic gem set in the midst of Pasadena.

We rented the 2-br portion of this bungalow and had a great experience. The owners deserve a lot of credit for the upkeep of this century-old home. They're clearly taking a lot of care to restore its original beauty while accommodating modern lifestyles. The owners are very friendly, helpful and conscientious about making the house feel like home for their guests. The bungalow is roomy, clean and homey, located in an area that is close to many conveniences. We would happily stay here again without a second thought to hotels or other vacation homes.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed in this bungalow with my family (2 adults, 2 kids) for most of January while my husband was visiting CalTech. We loved staying here. Annette and Mike were so helpful, friendly and generous. Quick to help when we needed anything. The house is very clean and comfortable. We felt at home here right away. From the house, we were able to walk to the university, the Huntington Library and botanical gardens (which we all loved) and the train, as well as cafes, restaurants and the library. Also the 99c store, which was surprisingly handy! Old Town Pasadena is further away, too long a walk with small kids but not so bad for an adult. We also enjoyed hiking in the Eaton Canyon, which is a short drive from the house, and of course visiting Los Angeles.Owner response: Thank You for the kind words. We've put a lot of loving care into preparing our units for guests. The guests were great and our pleasure to provide a relaxing environment for their family. Old Town is a bit far of a walk for young children, but the metro is one block away and just two metro stops to get to Old Town and the entire city for that matter.
