Lovely detached house on the seafront of Funchal. Charming location in the heart of the old town, the climate is warm and sunny year-round. No car necessary everything is a short walk away, including the typical fish restaurants, bakery, cafés and market. The house was totally renovated in 2012, making it an absolute dream holiday house for a family or group of friends. Unlimited sea views, outside dining possible all year with comfortable furniture and barbecue. Property with 2 houses that share a swimming pool (in summer we only rent the property as one unit with EXCLUSIVE use of garden and pool). The Beach Bunaglow sleeps up to 4 people and the Surf Studio Sleeps 2. Both are seafront houses with wonderful seaviews, each with their own private outside dining areas and relaxing space.
With a modern, stylish decoration which is also comfortable and family friendly. Beach Bungalow has Two bedrooms with 2 single beds in each bedroom (can be made in double beds) also have lovely sea views. Bathroom has large shower, fitted with clean marble look and modern fittings. The kitchen is fully furnished with separate dining area. Comfortable living room with beautiful Atlantic views, well equipped with TV, DVD and free wireless Internet. Huge seafront views with swimming pool and tropical garden. Dream place.
The property has 2 seafront houses on it that share only the swimming pool (beach Bungalow sleeps 4+ Surf Studio sleeps 2) They are rented seperatly throughout the year - Except during the months of June, July & August when they are both rented together as one house. Both has great privacy and lots of private space, with different terraces & outside eating areas for each house. Superb value for a dream seafront house, in either villas.

My husband and I spent 6 nights in the Surf Studio and loved it. The view is stupendous--only the sea and the sky in front of you. We went to sleep with the sound of the waves and woke to the sunrise in the clouds before us. The apartment is charming; very compact with tasteful decoration. The quality of everything is great; a well-equipped kitchen where we cooked several dinners, very comfortable bed and high quality sheets and towels. Everything was handled professionally--from the email inquiries, to pick up at the airport. We were among the first guests to stay in this apartment and there were several small details missing. As soon as we let the owners know, they came in person to make the necessary changes. The house was much better than we hoped for, cosy & clean and the location was fantastic as its like a retreat on top of the sea no noise but right in the historic area of Funchal. Owner was very helpful we locked ourselves out of the house and in 2min she came round and opened the door (10pm at night) - many thanks Cristina. Photos don´t do the sea-views justice which are dreamy. We arrived stressed and over-worked and at the end of our stay it was a new happy romantic, younger (and very tanned) version of ourselves that left. Many thanks for the super holiday! We hope to return very soonRecommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

We stayed at this beautiful villa in Funchal last week and just wanted to rave about the wonderful stay. Arriving at a small blue gate a little pebbled walk suddenly opens onto the most amazing vista of the ocean and a sparkling blue swimming pool. We had gorgeous weather and made full use of the pool which was warm, the terrace was the perfect cocktail perch as we watched the sunset over the bay of Funchal. We found it very peaceful during the day and night as the villa doesnt back onto the road. Decoration inside the house is very cape cod and elegant (beautiful wallpapers which I think I want to copy here at home) the large shower didn´t have a glass door so some water fell onto the floor, the kitchen could do with a few more tea towels but apart from that everything was perfect. We rented a scooter but mind the crazy drivers. Nice bars can be walked to in the old town in about 5min (Barrerinha café & poncha bar) we also liked riso risotto, Jango & the forte restaurant. Funchal is a lovely town, filled with flowering trees in all colours, the people are really friendly and helpful we say a stunning firworks display that seems to happen every year in June. The beach is just down the road in front of the church and the sea is surprisingly warm. A great vacation in a dream villa which we hope to return to very soon.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About the owner: We love restoring beautiful seafront properties in Funchal, Madeira and making them into dream holiday experiences so that guests live like locals and get to know this beautiful island like we do. Not only do we own 8 rental properties here but we also run a book publishing company with beautiful book on Madeira island.
Why the Owner Chose Funchal:
This is the loveliest part of Madeira by far, a historic area with warm climate year round that has typical Portuguese architecture, little gardens abound and you are right on top of the sea. The area has kept its character intact, still charming and full of local flair. We also live in this area and cannot describe how stunning it is to look at the sea all day, the ships that pass just in front and swim in the warm atlantic waters. Just a short walk away is the lively fruit, fish and flower market, a 5minute walk also takes you to the quaint shops of the old town, fish restaurants (or trendy bars and restaurants such as Riso, Mercearia da Poncha). The neighbors are friendly and welcoming and this is a part of Funchal that is blessed with the most sunshine and warmth year round. Its the unspoilt Madeira that beats any St Tropez or Monaco for natural beauty and setting.
