  We recently took a long weekend up to Kerr Lake, and wanted a place to bring our boat. Found the house clean and inviting, and offered plenty of room for our family (4). Amenities were more than I expected from the pics on website. Great view from deck. Although dock was not right at the house, it was not particularly inconvenient, and was very well equipped to accommodate our Sea Ray for the weekend. We enjoyed the privacy of the cove, and the easy access to the bigger parts of the lake. There's a nice little beach area at the house, but we spent most of our time on the water. I especially liked the deck in the evenings. In my experience, a very solid value for the price.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children.

  We stayed here Labor Day weekend with 2 other couples. The house is great. The floor plan is wonderful. The living and kitchen area are seperated from the sleeping areas which makes it nice if you bring kids. The house is updated and has most everything you need there. Sheets are provided but they are very cheap and rough. Had we known we would have brought our own. The beds however are very comfortable in all the rooms. The cleanliness of the place wasn't great. We had to clean the kitchen and bathrooms before we unpacked. There were lots of cobwebs. This is NOT a place to bring young kids. There is no lake acces from this house unless you want to jump an 8ft drop off. The dock is not on the actual property!!!!!!!!!! The dock is about a mile away, you have to drive there then walk a wooded trail to get to it. It is not overly friendly to use if the water is low as the walk way is like a sliding board. The description and picutres above are very misleading. You cannot see the lake from the house. This picture above must have been taken in the fall. We had to drive the kids to state parks or campgrounds and pay to use their beaches. All in all we had a nice time but will not be coming back to this house. This house would be great for a guys fishing trip, not so much for families or the elderly.

  Owner response: Thank you for your visit to our lake house. We do have the house professionally cleaned prior to people arriving. The house is in like new condition. We have upgraded the sheets on the beds, however this is the first complaint we have ever had about the sheets. This house is located on a lake that is regulated by the Army of Engineer Corps, many of the docks on the lake are a long distance away from the houses because the Army of Engineers Corps owns the land between the houses and the water/shoreline. The land between our house and the water/shoreline is not owned the Army of Engineers, however, when our subdivision was developed, there was a large piece of land set aside for the homeowners to use for their own private docks. Our dock is in the subdivision and is easy to get to by car or foot. It is our own private dock. Due to the flucuations of the water level at Kerr Lake, we can have water right in front of the house as seen by one of the pictures in our add, or, as seen by another picture in our add, the water may be out further. In either case the lake is visible from the house. We do have a nice sandy beach area down in front of the house when the water is out. There is a trail to get down the bank in front of the house, we will be making the access more visible and easier to access the beach area in the fall of 2012.
