My 89 year old mother, wife, daughter and son-in-law were in Pella for our Nephew's wedding. We had a great time. Listing and photos accurately reflected appearance, amenities and location. The apartment was clean and well maintained. Shelly was very helpful in answering questions. I would recommend this location. We didn't have a lot of time to explore the region, but found bicycling trails by the reservoire to be very enjoyable. Marty at the Bike shop 1 block from the guest house was extremely helpful. Apartment and bicycle rental were priced so as to bring extraordinary value. My mom was initially intimidated by the chair ride up the 25 step stair case, but was completely relaxed with it by the end of our stay. We were grateful to have that access available.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

About the owner: I'm not a Gershwin fanatic, but I loved being An American in Paris!...and in Venice, and in Lake Havasu! Atop the list of my best-days-ever are all those I've spent traveling; either abroad or here in the States. I've visited at least one place I've never been before, every year since 1992. Some years that's been with my husband & sons, sometimes with my parents & sisters and sometimes with dear friends, but ALWAYS in search of what's out there that's different! And... you know what?...They Can't Take That Away From Me!
Why the Owner Chose Pella:
'Pella' means 'City of Refuge' and vistors to The Guesthouse will find exactly that; a calming, refreshing kind of solitude, set above the bustle of the street. If it's Solice for the Soul you seek, choose from one of 25 churches inside the city limits. If it's retail therapy you need, explore the the specialty shops that line the streets. There's a lake for watersports, river bluffs for nature hiking, and Bald Eagle sightings, bikes trails to bike, jog, walk or cross-country ski, a bowling alley, swimpark, movie theater, ethnic and American eateries; ALL inside a 5 minute car ride. I'm born and raised a 'Pella-can' and Dorothy, there's no place like home!
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The Guesthouse is the only lodging available on the Pella town square which puts no less than four Dutch bakeries and meat markets within smelling distance! The first floor boutique and Aveda salon lay all kinds of beauty, literally at your feet! Visitors won't fight crowds or lines anywhere unless it's the annual Pella Tulip Time festival, in which case you're still in luck because The Guesthouse's street-level veranda is prime seating for the Volks Parades and centrally located between all the poffertjes, vetbollen and pork-chop-on-a-stick stands!
