The River Camp is a beautiful 4 BR 3 Bath home on the Tickfaw River! It can sleep up to 10 people and is ideal for couples, families and small groups!
Our Camp on the River sits on a beautiful bluff, overlooks the scenic Tickfaw River, and is a great summer or winter get-away!
Some of the fun activities you can enjoy is fishing, canoeing, swimming, tubing, bike riding.....have a fish fry, shoot pool, roast hot dogs/marshmellows at the outdoor fire-pit, or enjoy a bbq! .
In addition, a variety of wildlife can be seen depending on the season. If you are a bird watcher, you will be in heaven! However, you may want to just relax on one of our decks that overlook the river, sleep on a hammock, rest on the swing, or read while sitting in one of the rocking chairs.
- Please note that we are located at the smaller, upper end of the Tickfaw river, making motorboats non-accessible
The camp is equipped with DVD (Blue Ray) player, wireless internet, board games, pool table, jacuzzi tub in the master bath, 2 canoes, bbq pit, outdoor fire pit, indoor fireplace, and two flat screen televisions.
Our River Camp is only 45 minutes from New Orleans, 30 minutes from Baton Rouge, and Walmart is only a 20-minute drive! If you are looking for a spa, there are several very nice spas only 20 minutes away, as well as 2 beautiful golf courses. A mini-grocery store and sandwich/pizza restaurant is a short 2 miles.

My friends and I truly enjoyed our weekend at this lovely, peaceful place. Everything was very nice (and clean!) and we felt right at home. We spent most of our time outside during the day and into the evening. The decks, covered sitting area and hammock were all very comfortable! The setting was beautiful and lush! Though we did not go down to the river, we enjoyed the beautiful view. The wall of windows by the kitchen table was the icing on the cake! We hope to return again and enjoy everything all over! We were all very pleased with everything this nice retreat had to offer. Our thanks also to the owners who were so gracious and wonderful!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My family so much enjoyed the short stay. We wish it could have been longer. The house and grounds were very beautiful. We were able to enjoy sitting outside due to all the shade available. So nice early in the morning out on the deck. Hammond was close by and offered great food selections. Thanks for a great stay!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at this rental. The description was right on the mark and there were no surprises. Everything was very comfortable and clean and just as it looked in the pictures. We were unable to use the boats, as the river was very high and fast due to rains, but that was our only disappointment! It looked like it would have been easy access to the river under normal circumstances. It was very quiet and private, a great place to stay for a family get away.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This house offers the perfect retreat for a family get away. We visited the river house with our two best friends and their young families. The kids absolutely loved it and the adults also had a blast. The river is cool and clear and offers great swimming. The house was very clean and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. The rooms in the house were spacious which was perfect for our large group. There are numerous outside seating areas which offer a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the sounds of nature and listen to the river as it flows downstream. We would highly recommend this Tickfaw River Camp, the owners were great to work with and very accommodating.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This was an awesome place for our ladies get away, but it would also be great for families! Can't wait to go back with the kids or maybe the ladies again! My husband and I needed a getaway from the hustle and bustle so a quick trip to the river was just perfect! The pictures don't do this house justice, it's an ADORABLE country home. There is a full size pool table, an upright piano, so much seating outdoors and with different views. The house is nice sized we never even went upstairs although it was decorated nicely and roomy. We spent most of our time during the day at the kitchen table with walls of glass everywhere! At night we went into the huge oversized den and played pool. The master bedroom has a king size bed, most of them are queens in rental places (which I don't like at all!) The master bath has a jacuzzi tub which worked all the kinks out. The place is very clean, has all the comforts of home, easy river access they even have 2 canoes for you and kindling wood for the outdoor fire pit! The owners are very easy to work with and have a heart for hospitality. Thanks again guys, we enjoyed it.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Can't say enough good things about this beautiful place ,so clean, comfortable ,peaceful and everything you need for a family vacation ....you could really tell that a lot of time and effort went in to make our visit a pleasant one , and it was ! ! We had no problem finding it ,the photos that you see on this add doesn't do it justice ...I am so ready to go back .Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
