Paris Arrondissement 18 apartment description
A bright, compact, two bedroom apartment excellent for families traveling on a budget, or couples wanting to spread out!
This apartment sleeps up to 5 guests in three different rooms.
Welcome to the colorful village of Montmartre! This apartment is located near the Place St. Pierre at rue Steinkerque, literally at the foot of the Sacre Coeur basilica. But don't worry, you'll be high above the hustle and bustle, up on the 5th floor (6th floor to North Americans) in a building with an elevator! Sit on the balcony and have a glass of while while watching the world go by below, or take in the lovely view of Sacre Coeur!
The apartment features three rooms with three beds, making the apartment very flexible in terms of accommodating different configurations of guests.
A hallway running through the middle of the apartment ensures everyone can have easy access to the kitchen, shower room, and separate WC (toilet room).
On one side of the apartment is the main living/dining area and the master bedroom - both facing a quiet courtyard with tranquil views of the Halle St. Pierre and the small park above Place St. Pierre. The master bedroom features a large double bed comfortable for two adults, along with a chest of drawers, reading lamps and a radio.
The main living/dining area is also on this same side of the apartment as the master bedroom, with a door connecting the two. The living area has a selection of Paris guidebooks and many reading books, a CD player/radio, and a extendable dining table suitable for 6 guests. This room also has a comfortable sofa which converts into a large single bed.
Across the hallway is the bright second bedroom with balcony, which features a large leather sofa which converts into a deluxe, top-of-the-line sofabed which is as comfortable as a 'real' bed and suitable for two adults. This room also has a large closet, extra seating, a TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, and a small stereo with a collection of CDs. This room can be used a second living area or lounge for guests when not in use as a bedroom.
But of course the star of this room is the wonderful balcony, which is accessed by French doors. The balcony offers a lovely view of Sacre Coeur, and a table and chairs for enjoying the sunshine, a glass of wine, or even breakfast on Parisian summer morning. People watching on the street below can be entertaining, too!
The compact kitchen is off the main hallway of the apartment, and fully equipped with a gas stove and full-sized electric oven, dishwasher, clothes washer with dryer function, refrigerator, electric water kettle, coffee maker, toaster and all the necessary pots, pans and dishes and utensils for cooking. You'll even find basic cooking spices and condiments!
The bathroom is at the end of the hallway, and features a shower and sink/vanity area. The WC (toilet room) is in its own separate room, also off the main apartment hallway.
This apartment features WiFi Internet access and a telephone with free international calls to many countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, and many others. The television has some English news channels available, and many cable channels in French. All windows are double-glazed and have exterior metal shutters for blocking out the light.
We think you'll find this apartment to be an excellent value for families and friends traveling together, and the weekly rate is also appropriately discounted for couples just wanting the extra space the apartment has to offer to spread out!
We hope you enjoy our Parisian home away from home!

Perfect Paris Apartment
Perfect Paris Apartment
This property was perfect for our Parisian vacation. The apartment was clean, well maintained and very comfortable for us. We were a party of 3 adults and 1 child. Plenty of room to move around. The highlight was the great balcony overlooking the exciting street below. We felt a part of the Montmarte excitement and felt completely comfortable and safe in the apartment. SO conveniently located to the Anvers Metro that it made getting around Paris a breeze. Paula met us the day of our arrival, walked us through everything, gave us lots of information on getting around. She had everything so organized and made the whole experience easy for us. I would 100% recommend this place! Loved, loved, loved it! I can't wait to go back and visit again sometime and I will definitely look at staying here!

Perfect Stay for Two Writers
Perfect Stay for Two Writers
Once a year, my best friend and I meet up for our annual getaway and work on our romance novel. Last year was the Grand Canyon, this year-- Paris. The apartment was incredibly accommodating: the well equipped kitchen with our own espresso maker to the stocked library that indulged in our love for Henry de Toulous-Lautrec and all things Hemingway; we were never short of reading material or Parisian guide books. The beds were wonderfully comfortable especially the pull-out sofa in the living room. The vast CD collection allowed us to wake up every morning to Edith Piaf or write to the opera Carmen. Throughout our ten day stay, we ate breakfast and dinner outside on the balcony when we could, enjoying waking up with the city or basking in the long days with sunsets at 9 PM. We truly enjoyed finding our favorite cheese and baguette shops in the local area, which are many to choose from. Steinkerque was just perfect.

Comfy, spacious apartment in the middle of lots of activity... We had everything we needed for a pleasant 2 week visit... Lots of street side activity down below but quiet in the apartment... Small balcony provided nice 6th floor views and great place for morning coffee.... Best thing about this apartment, was Paula from Frenchy Rentals....she was attentive and responsive to whatever we needed to make our visit comfortable and memorable... Aside from a short walk to Sacre Couer, we were steps away from all the local shopping and cafes we needed to experience Parisian living....

Manager response: Thanks Ruben & Barbara! It was a pleasure to meet you both, and thank you so much for renting the rue Steinkerque apartment! The owners and I both appreciate it! Many thanks & hope to welcome you back to Paris again in the future! Paula
I'll start by mentioning how nice & helpful Paula was. Just a phone call or e-mail away during our entire stay. She was there to greet us and to give us a tour of the apartment as well as to show us how to work everything (apliances etc.) My husband & I, 12 year old daughter, 18 year old son, as well as my 25 year old neice enjoyed this apartment from July 6-12, 2012. This was our children's first European trip. The apartment description is exact. When we arrived in the apartment it was just as the photos on VRBO website. I must add that it was also very clean, and comfortable. Plenty of extra linens provided. Fully functioning kitchen with all the basics provided. Phone & internet easy to use we brought our laptop as well as i-pads. We also utilized the DVD selection provided. rue Steinkerque is a bustling street, but when you are in your apartment you wouldn't ever know it unless you are sitting on the balcony people watching and enjoying your glass of wine (which we did) & If you close the windows (at any time of day) it is completely silent. The area was safe, we were out most of the time exploring other areas of Paris, but in the vicinity there are great places to eat that were inexpensive in comparison to other areas of Paris. For instance right on both corners (to the right when you step out of the building) from the apartment where the carousel is there are delicious crepes and sandiches for a couple of euros. When you continue up the steps to the Sacre Coure and beyond there is so much more to explore. The apartment has many books on Paris which we enjoyed. Paula has a binder put together that makes it convenient to fugure out the metro and buses which is what we used. The Abesses Metro stop is the one we used almost everyday. It is a short walk from the apartment, great places to eat in that area as well. We cooked breakfast everyday in the apartment and enjoyed our family time. We really enjoyed our stay. I would return to this apartment, and I would recomment it to freinds and family! Also, our safety deposit was refunded to us the following day. We left the aparment almost as clean as we arrived with the exception of the linens we used and dishes in the dishwasher. Thanks for the quick refund!! We all really enjoyed our stay! Thank you Paula! We hope to return.

Year Purchased: 2001
About: John, who’s English, and Laura, une vraie Parisienne, bought this apartment over ten years ago to be their “home away from home” when visiting from London. Montmartre was the arrondissement of Paris John knew best and Laura had friends living nearby so it was natural they looked in the area. Like any other quarter of any other great city, Montmartre changes over time but still retains the feel of a village, especially if one heads off the tourist routes – after all, Montmartre only officially became part of Paris in 1860.
Why Paris Arrondissement 18:
After viewing many bizarre and downright horrible apartments, we knew this was the one for us the moment we stepped in the front door – full of light, views of Sacré Coeur from the balcony and bedroom, high and quiet above the bustle of Paris, well organised and, a big bonus if you’re arriving on the Eurostar or RER from an airport, only 10-15 minutes walk from the Gare du Nord.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Enjoy having breakfast or an aperitif on the balcony, using the small but very well equipped kitchen, the sight of trees from the bedroom window, views of Sacré Coeur and the rooftops of Paris – très romantique! Sunday food markets are open on rues des Abbesses and Lepic, and be sure to try the Friday afternoon market at Square d’Anvers. Sample the many neighbourhood bars and restaurants. Check out quirky local boutiques or rummaging in the fabric shops – the area is very good for clothes shopping and the main area in Paris for buying fabrics, buttons etc. Go to the Michou drag show and then don't be surpised if you see Michou himself dining at La Mascotte on rue des Abbesses the next day! Stroll round the Cimetière de Montmartre on an autumn afternoon. Climb up the Butte de Montmartre for the view – very touristy but still stunning and different every time, with the city spread out beneath you.
