Recommendations
"We had an absolutely brilliant time. The treehouse was just amazing - I just loved it in everyway. The second day at the Treehouse we went down to the little wharf at the end of the street and happened upon a fishing boat just back from sea after 2 weeks fishing - we brought a red emperor and some cod fresh off the boat!! Delicious:) We swam in the sea every day after a big walk along the beach up the hill and down into town for our morning coffee. Loved the book lounge in town. The decor was so charming -and I loved the windows and sliding doors. So many lovely touches I can't list them all!! The whole time we were on holiday I just thought we were staying in the best place in Port Douglas - it was lovely coming back to "our place" to cook up our meals and try out the new and exotic fruits we couldn't resist buying."

"The first time I saw this accommodation online I was hooked and it more than met my hopes for the perfect holiday. The house is amazing, creative, great facilities and all the comforts required. We stayed for 2 weeks and I could have moved in permanently. Tina and Matt have created a holiday home for the traveller who wants something unique. I will and have highly recommended it already and will be back. "

Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: I am an artist and my husband is a chef. We work a lot internationally, and travel with our little boy Pablo. We love to travel, eat well, and create. Over the last year we lived in China, India, Turkey, traveled through vietnam and spent a lot of time in Europe.
Why the Owner Chose Port Douglas:
We have been traveling for a long time which is wonderful and exhausting, and so when we renovated our homes we made them haven's - homes that relax, inspire and rejuvenate. Traveling, we rent homes and apartments constantly, so we became really aware what you need when you are on away, and how important is great home is to make you love the place your in.
We have been based in Port Douglas since it was a tiny fishing town. We love it here, and its our home when we are in Australia. Both Matt and I's extended family is based in Port Douglas as well.
We know the region really well and we renovated a property to capture the essence of the tropics. Guests write "Dont expect the usual boring decor...this gorgeous little hideaway has without doubt been created with love and passion. Tina and Matt have an eye for taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary!"
We also have another rental " The Artists' Cottage" which was our first home, until we outgrew it. It suits a couple, or a couple with a baby, and is also a wonderful place to stay.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The Artists' Treehouse holds a great collection of artwork, - a lot of friends and my own. The Treehouse is a creative environment to live in - lot of people tell us they feel inspired to start creating themselves.
I love overlooking the trees each morning and waking up to the sounds of birds. It also great being in town - as the restaurants and bars are a walk away, which is so handy, especially if you feel like a glass of wine or two.
Also, part of being in Port Douglas is the early morning walks along the beach - a fantastic start to the day.
