The cabin was more than adequate as far as available space for our event. We did have some concerns regarding routine maintenance and cleanliness of the property which we brought to the attention of the manager. He has responded to our concerns.

Two families and a dog recently had a wonderful stay at the Grand Canyon Lodge. Downstairs you will find a well stocked kitchen; however, the owner has locked off the pantry so there is nowhere to store food except the counter. The 8-10 foot dining room table with 2 large benches was great for feeding a large group. We also had a puzzle going on it throughout our vacation and still had room to eat. A sitting area (no TV) gives an awesome northern view of the peaks. Also located downstairs are a half bath, 2 bedrooms which share a full bath and one bedroom with an en suite full bath. Upstairs is a large, open loft/family room area with TV, lots of seating and extra futon style beds. It didn't get too loud downstairs unless the volume was way up on the TV. A massive master suite, which could easily sleep a family of 6 if you had 2 aerobeds, is also located upstairs. The location of the home is a short drive from downtown Flagstaff and not inconvenient at all. Make sure to visit the Adventure Course at Ft. Tuthill and on Saturday nights during summer there is a free family movie right downtown. Bunhuggers is great for a hamburger and if you are up for the drive, Mormon Lake Lodge has some delicious steaks. The ski lift at the Snowbowl is a nice way to get to "cooler air" if the days are a little warm. We did have a few issues with the property that I am sure the landlord/property manager will be addressing shortly. There was a problem with the septic system at the house and the smell from the yard got a little overpowering at times. Also, there are parts of the home that just don't appear "finished". Baseboard is missing or the finish work had not been completed (no caulking or painting), the walls needed to be painted in various rooms, the carpets could use cleaning, and a few screens were broken/missing. Oh, watch out for the base of the stairs! We had three people trip before we finally placed our coolers around them so no one would trip any longer. Check the bathtubs before taking a shower-we found a black widow had taken up residence in the downstairs bathtub. Hey, it's Arizona and we have a few nasty critters here! Overall, this was a nice place to stay and we would return for either a summer or winter visit as it was comfortable for our group of 10 (plus 1 dog)!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We have rented several vacation homes in Flagstaff and throughout the country, including Hawaii, thus are seasoned renters. The location and set up of the home were great, including the fabulous view of the San Francisco Peaks. However, there were a few problems with the home. 1. The kitchen and house were not that clean when we arrived, The refrigerator was very dirty, I cleaned it myself. 2. The internet service was poor, many problems with the router. The manager did come out promptly with a new router. 3. The kitchen was poorly stocked. Many items missing, including a blender. As stated above, dishes were not very clean. 4. The spa was low on water and not that clean. It was serviced during our visit, but not for the first 4-5 days.

Amazing! Perfect for families.
Amazing! Perfect for families.
This was a vacation over memorial day weekend for 2 families and their dogs. The house was amazing, very large and open, and had a very inviting feel to it. The hot tub was great, especially in the early evening, watching the stars flicker above the mountains. The views are wonderful, surrounded by mountains and open space. It was close enough to Flagstaff for quick trips into town, and far enough to feel like a country vacation. Very easy drive to the Grand Canyon. Fenced in back yard was perfect for dogs. Very comfortable beds. We fell in love with the lodge and would love to go back.
