Brooklin house description
Located two miles outside of Brooklin center, home of the Wooden Boat School, the house and boat house have stunning easterly views of Blue Hill Bay and the hills of Mount Desert. A lighthouse sits a mile off shore and is the focal point for viewing. Boats frequently sail in front of the house on the way into Blue Hill and Beyond.
The main house house is surrounded by gardens and a deck that wraps from front to back. On the first floor there is a living room with fireplace, bath with a shower, washer and dryer, bedroom room with views and a full kitchen. On the second floor there are two connecting bedrooms with a full size bed and three twin beds. On the shore sits the boathouse, completed in 2000, with a living room, kitchenette, full bath and loft for sleeping. The front window looks out over the water, just 10 feet from the high tide mark, but set up on granite slabs. There are also full perennial gardens around the boathouse. Between the boathouse and main house there is a croquet field for playing lawn games and a hammock for relaxing.

Unbelievably beautiful, right on the water, quiet, and just plain inspiring. Go for long walks on the beach or settle into the boathouse to watch the water or take a nap or just listen to the waves. Main house has laundry, dvd player, absolutely anything you could possibly need. Extremely responsive rental agent and caretaker if you have any questions. So many rental places by the sea have a mildewy smell, but this place is absolutely pristine, inside and out. Gorgeous kayaking, great walks, incredible stargazing. We give this the highest possible rating and can't wait to go back.
