  My closest friends and I rented the Acorn Cottage for a girls get a way weekend and were EXTREMLY impressed. The home was beautiful, clean and very homey. The home was walking distance to the strip, but the second night we just wanted to enjoy the awesome backyard with the fire pit and amazing jacuzzi. We can't wait to stay again!

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  I was looking for somewhere to have a low key mini getaway weekend for my sisters bachelorette party- I cam across this place and booked it. I've rented other places before and this experience is heads above the others- great communication, every detail thought of in the house, great info on the area. I would definitely book here again! :)

  A group of friends and I rented this property for a weekend in the winter, and it was great! Everything was exactly as described and matched the pictures perfectly. We were a little hesitant of going up in the middle of the winter, but had a great time in spite of a snow storm! I can't imagine a better house at which to get snowed in. The hot tub is a must!!

  The property was everything the listing said, including the pictures. It was extremely clean and recently renovated. The owner was easy to contact and even offered some suggestions on the area. I definitely recommend paying the extra for the hot tub. The other amenities were nice, such as pandora through the tv. We went to Laurello's winery for dinner and it was excellent. The wine, the food and the live entertainment. We used premier transportation for transportation from winery to winery and I have to say that I understand why it was so cheap. Their taxi buses leave a lot to be desired (I was scared that we were going to break down) but they were quick and it's a lot smarter than drinking and driving. I would definitely recommend this property.

  We loved Acorn Cottage during our stay. Lovely house, excellent location, great backyard. We really had a magical time. Renter was prompt and profession with email inquiry responses/invoices. My party took great care to be respectful of the house during our stay. We cleaned throughly before we left, making sure to follow all guidelines left for us. We fully believed to have left the place just as we found it, going out of our way to triple check our cleanliness throughout our stay. A week later, I received an email saying that my party left several towels stained and unusable and we would be charged $15 from our return deposit. Before I had a chance to reply that this would be fine, I received three emails of pictures of said towels that renter described as "Filthy" and added comments such as "I don't know what this towel was used for??" (They were white dish towels that we used to clean dishes/counter tops.) I felt the email was overly judgmental. There was a more professional way to handle this issue/word said email. We were already planning another trip to this house for next spring, but I don't think we will follow through with those plans. The renter did not make me feel comfortable in the end, though the house certainly did.

  Owner response: We don't like to keep any of our renters deposit. That is why, before doing so, I corresponded by email to the renter and sent the pictures, she said keeping the 15.00 would be okay. I wasn't aware it would have such a backlash! 5 five star ratings then this? I think you can see from my other reviews, this is usually not problem. You cannot expect to trash towels and not get charged anything. To avoid having to pass on these charges, I soaked these items for days. Despite the extra time taken to work on the stains, they wouldn't come out and have to be replaced. The charge is extremely reasonable considering that every bath towel and kitchen towel, which are usually used to dry clean things had brown stains and grease all over them. The white kitchen towel the renter is referring to is to dry dishes. It looked like it was used to clean the grill. We have dark cloths to wash dirty dishes. Wish I could post the pictures! We provide high quality linens for our guests to enjoy and would like to keep it that way!

  My family stayed at this rental for 5 days and couldn't have asked for a better rental. We had 4 young children with us and they loved the available kids programming on Netflix and the open floor plan. The rental was very clean and organized and felt like home. We look forward to our next stay!

  My family really enjoyed our stay at Acorn Cottage. The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Three very nice bedrooms and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. It was an easy walk or bike ride to the strip. We loved the wonderful back yard and enjoyed nightly fires, games of corn hole and the hot tub. It was really wonderful not having to pack sheets and towels!The cottage is very close to a park where we watched the sunset over the lake. Would recommend staying here when visiting Geneva on the Lake.

  April did a great job having everything ready for us. The house is close to everything in Geneva on the Lake. What a great weekend we had. I would definitely recommend staying at Acorn Cottage.

  My family stayed at Acorn Cottage for 5 days and we loved it! The cottage was beautiful, so impressed with the quality of appliances, linens, towels, furniture, hardwood floors, very impressive and just an awesome place to stay! The property was well maintained, very charming, provided everything you would need down to the lawn chairs around the fire pit! I would highly recommend this property, it's close to the nearby attractions, the lake and only a 45 minute drive to Cleveland. Owners were very helpful and a pleasure to do business with, i would definitely stay at Acorn Cottage again. Don't pass this one up, the best vrbo places i've ever stayed in!!
