Enjoy
Savor all that Florence offers from a superb central location that also features a spacious private terrace for enjoying the Tuscan sun. The ideal location of this apartment puts you right in the center of Florence.
Location
This apartment is in a wonderful, central location, steps from the Ponte Vecchio bridge. This is the popular Oltrarno area of Florence.
It overlooks a very interesting historical and artistic Florentine landmark, the Vasari Corridor, an aerial passageway built by Cosimo di Medici in the 1500s to connect his nearby Pitti palace to his offices in the Uffizi.
Exterior
Although the post-war construction in Florence lacks the charm of the older buildings, the building is handsome, fits well with its older neighbors and the apartments are well laid out and efficient.
The building interior hallways are clean and freshly painted. There are several steps up to a small elevator.
The apartment is located on the 5th floor (North American designation, 4th European), there is an elevator.
Interior
There is a small foyer when you enter the apartment that has a little table and mirror. The bedroom is directly in front of you and is spacious and charming. The bed, which can be prepared as a dual-king or 2 twins, is a standard Italian-style thick mattress, no box spring. An Italian dual-king is a bit larger than a queen bed. Very nice antique marble-topped dresser. Night stands with little bedside reading lamps.
The cosy living room is down the hall; it is cute & bright. There is a nice white leather sofa and two upholstered chair. They fit the space nicely and provide good seating. One side of the living room overlooks the street, Via de' Bardi below, with tall windows that go to the floor. The other corner of the living room has French doors that open onto the terrace. The floors throughout are original terrazzo marble.
The terrace is the most charming feature of the apartment. Large and well maintained, it has a bistro table with two chairs. On sunny days you can extend a canvas awning over most of the length of the terrace. If you have your heart set on finding a small, well located, nice apartment with a good terrace the Bardi apartment fits the bill.
A second set of double doors lead from the terrace to the kitchen. The terrace is a wonderful spot for meals or cocktails outdoors on balmy days. Church bells toll and it's a wonderful sound while you sip your morning coffee or dine al fresco.
The eat-in kitchen has a gas range, small countertop oven, toaster, under-the-counter refrigerator, pots, pans, utensils. Italian and American style coffee pots, microwave. No dishwasher.
The bathroom has a shower, sink, bidet and toilet.
The living room and bedroom are air conditioned. With windows open you will experience some noise from pedestrians in the street down below since the popular Ponte Vecchio area gets crowded. It is five floors up so that helps, also the living room and bedroom have double glazed windows that provide good sound insulation. If you sleep with the windows closed at night noise is not an issue. If you keep the windows open you would need to be comfortable with city sounds.
The washing machine is on the terrace. There is a drying rack for clothes you can put on the terrace.

We have had a wonderful two weeks here in Florence and feel so fortunate to have found your beautiful apartment. We have enjoyed all its amenities. It is a prime location. Thank you for the lovely wine your left for us. We will certainly recommend this wonderful retreat to our friends. Your terrace with its thoughtful plantings has been such a pleasure to return to each day....relaxing and enjoying wine, cheeses and crackers before dining out. The recommendations left by former guests on places to eat were most helpful. ALL Italians have been most gracious in attempting to help us with directions....even bridging some language barriers. Thank you for a lovely stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had the best time. The accommodations were perfect! Impeccably clean, proximity to the Ponte Vecchio couldn't have been better, with a market just downstairs from the apartment building. The marble floors were stunning. The owners were accommodating and gracious. Made our entire experience memorable. I'd go back and rent this apartment again in a heartbeat! Bonus that it was a 15 min walk to the train station as well.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This apartment is immaculately presented. The owners take great pride in its appearance and every detail has been considered. The position is excellent (two minutes from the Ponte Vecchio) and a walk to all major galleries and tourist attractions. We particulalry loved the terrace with retractable awning, allowing you to sit outside even if it is raining. The downstairs supermarket has an amazing deli section and plenty of fresh fruit. Overall an exceptional apartment and thoroughly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

I just wanted you to know that we have never had a better rental experience in Europe. Bardi is the best ever and we have so enjoyed it for so many reasons. It will be hard to reproduce this apartment next fall when we go to Madrid but if you have any suggestions, we would be so grateful. Many, many thanks for your help in getting this absolutely perfect rental apartment!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We arrived in Florence august 22nd after spending 5 nights in Rome at two different apartments with Italy Perfect. On arrival in Florence we caught a taxi from the station to via Bardi which was right by the Ponte Vecchio. What an amazing site. We arrived at our apartment and were greeted by the actual owner of the apartment, with a bottle of chilled white wine and a bottle of agua Frizzante. He was a wonderful gentleman who was obviously extremely proud of this apartment. (We have to admit that this has to be one of the best we have ever stayed at in all of our travels over the last 20 years. The actual photos of the apartment do not do it justice). The owner gave us a guided tour, explained where thing were and also left us with a cell phone in case we needed anything. The location is extremely busy; however in the apartment you would not realize it. Our apartment overlooked Vasari Corridor (by overlooked we mean that you look out the window and there it is). The Vasari Corridor connects the Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti. There are lots of amazing places to eat here and the food is very good. We would recommend a little restaurant called Trattoria Bordino at Via Stracciatella 9r. It is basically behind the apartment. The food is wonderful and it does the best Florentine Steak we have ever had (and we have had many). It is also the cheapest. If you also have time try out the all'Antico Vinaio on Via de' Neri 65. This is rated as the number 1 place to eat at in all of Florence on trip advisor out of more than 1500 places. It is a "sandwich bar". Get there early and try a roast pork sandwich with the fillings as it is usually gone by 2pm. We ate there on several occasions and it was always less the 15 Euros which include 2 glasses of wine. We really enjoyed our stay here, and can not recommend Pat or Italy Perfect enough. We will be travelling with them again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Seriously, its pretty rare to check into a vacation apartment which is nicer than the photos! This apartment actually seemed a bit larger than the photos, was immaculate, and the patio was delightful. Looking down from the patio, bedroom or living room one sees the busy foot traffic that naturally fills the streets by the Ponte Vecchio, yet, because of the double windows in the bedroom, one does not hear the crowds from the 5th floor. The Uffizi and the Pitti Palace are minutes away, and the the Duomo is no more than a 15 minute walk. YOU CANT BEAT THE LOCATION. Grocery store right downstairs, and restaurants everywhere. Great alternative to hotels. Oh, and a cab stand 30 feet from the front door.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My son and I stayed at Bardi for five days in July 2012. It felt like home almost immediately. We were welcomed by the owner, who showed us everything we needed to know and even left a cell phone with his number in memory. Everyone who stays at the Bardi apartment comments on how close it is to everything but how quiet it is, and how great the market downstairs is. They are right. The apartment is immaculate, well appointed, and beautiful. The only thing that was less than perfect, and I know this is very individual, would be the pillows. They were plentiful but all the same...a medium hard foam...and we had a difficult time sleeping on those just because have a personal preference for down or down-like pillows. We did cook in the small but well appointed kitchen and it was perfect. We had our breakfast there and we also cooked one beautiful dinner there. We ate on the terrace and had our wine together, and we just regretted we couldnt stay longer. A note about cats and allergies: I am extremely sensitive to cats and probably wouldnt have booked Bardi had I seen the note about the winter cat, since for me, it isnt hair, we didnt see a single one, but dander, and that is not possible to get rid of season-to-season. For any of you in the same position, I would say only twice in five days did I feel it and have to take a pill. Not bad at all and well worth all the wonderful features and location and quiet of this beautiful apartment. Response from ItalyPerfect: Thank you very much for being our guest and for your kind note. We are very sorry about the pillows, many owners have gone away from down because it has its own problems with many people being allergic to down and the difficulty of cleaning them. My personal solution to have the pillow I like is to purchase a small sized down pillow and bring it with me in a vacuum bag so it takes almost no space and is very light.Did you find this review helpful? I am writing this review from the divine terrace of this charming comfortable apartment in a perfect location in florence. As other reviews mentioned, it is in a very busy area but the double windows allow for total peace and quiet. There is also excellent air con which was much needed during this hot spell. Yet, we enjoyed much time on the terrace-breakfast, late afternoon reading, a glass of wine before dinner. The bedroom is spacious, a good sized closet and dresser. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is also a good size. The living room is just fine for 2-4 people. As for the kitchen, it met our needs. We could not have been happier or more at home. We could not imagine staying anywhere else in Florence. Our brief meeting with Guiliano, the owner, was very pleasant. He was most helpful and cordial and greeted us with a lovely bottle of wine. Florence was our last stop and Via de Bardi was simply perfect. Pat at Italy Perfect was a terrific help and beyond organized in arranging our rental. Italy Perfect is a very professioanl and user friendly agency.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

This apartment was perfect. I prefer to stay on the other side of the Arno River when visiting Florence. The neighborhood feel, peaceful atmosphere but still perfectly located to enjoy the sights and sounds of Florence. I slept wonderfully each evening, cooled by the air conditioning and protected from the sounds of the city by the insulated windows. The balcony was the added bonus. We relaxed enjoying our coffee or wine through out the day. It was a great place to relax and rejuvenate before heading out again. The convenience of delicious restaurants and bars for our morning cappuccino and cornetto and a well stocked grocery just below. When returning to Florence I will return to Bardi! Regarding a restaurant tip: a short walk away is the Piazza Spirito Santo, in the back corner is a wonderful Osteria, Spirito Santo. The quality, tranquility and value are wonderful. I never was able to finish my meal. I returned three times. Additionally is does not hurt this location to have 5 Gelaterias located close by: La Carraria two bridges to the east and one whose name I forgot. Walk out of the apartment turn Right and it is a short walk up the Via. I actually extended two extra nights and was easily accommodated by Lisa and the owner. Bardi will be my florentine home for future stays.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a wonderful apartment! We could not have been happier with our place. Location - Ponte Vecchio, of course beautiful, many restaurants, shopping, museums, all withing walking distance. However beautiful Florence was the apartment was the jewel. We were met by the owner who had chocolates and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The apartment is absolutley stunning, the pictures dont really express the beauty and comfort of our home for a week. I highly reccomend Bardi as a respite from your tours and travels. Wonderful experience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
