Inside enjoy hardwood floors, 12 ft ceilings and a jaw dropping french country kitchen with mahogany countertops and chocolate covered ceiling tiles. French doors open to a veranda which is perfect for morning coffee or late night dinners. This home is loaded with chandeliers and crown molding. Happiness speaks for itself.

Where do I begin? Newly refurbished and it shows! The love of old world French design is obviuos and not overstated. The french kitchen was a dream to work in, equiped with everything a top chef could want or need. Late in the evening the men played Texas hold'em on the huge back porch while the ladies enjoyed the wide variety of shows available on cable. We bicycled everywhere we went; to breakfast at the Sunflower, around the beautifully restored homes of the Historic District made us feel like we were in 1800's Galveston. (Thank you Ramona for suggesting that we bring our bicycles!) We rode our bikes to the seawall, the Pleasure Pier, the Strand, and to the corner store. The beds were the most comfortable I had ever slept on. Your neighbors were delightful. They all wave or say good morning, when they see you. The charm of old Galveston with all of the conveniences of today and then some. We are all still talking about how soon we can plan to go back to your lovely home. Oh! I almost forgot to mention the soaker tub, and two restrooms (thank goodness for two restrooms!). The photos are great, but you have to see this one in person to really appreciate the charm. I plan on returning to this little gem a few times a year for as long as you have it on VRBO.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My favorite part is the french country kitchen with the super porch attached for morning coffee. Great way to wake up and start your day. The details throughout the house ...perfection. I plan to return two more times this year. A definate repeat rental; great for parties. What a perfect New year's we all had at this lovely home! Thank you, Ramona, you are so easy to work with. This little house has great character, and really is close to everything. The first night in town we walked to Murdock's and Pleasure Pier. Miles of swimming beaches! The owner is very helpful and renting the property was easy. The neighbors are friendly, too. The charming house stayed cool even in record heat, and the washer and dryer sure came in handy!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

About the owner: I am a island girl at heart. I grew up in Houston and ran here every chance I got as a kid listening to the beach boys. Only until the last few years have I realized it's the history of the island I loved the most. I truly believe the soul of Galveston is in the historical district.....just stay in this area a few days and you will fall in love.
Why the Owner Chose East End Historic District:
I'm an investor and ever so often I find a property I can't let go of....Happiness is a keeper....it could be my retirement home. Great location, quiet, yet very central to everything.
