Our stay was great - although we spent very little time at the Red Barn as we were out exploring the surrounding areas. Having the pool table and air hockey made for great evening family entertainment. The inside is beautifully finished and stays surprisingly warm. The only reasons I did not rate it as excellent: 1. The outside of the Red Barn had some litter strewn about - I think the previous guests must have done fireworks and never cleaned up. One of the bowls and spoons from the cabin was left at the fence of the pasture - it looked like it had been there for some time. We also found a few things presumably left behind inside the cabin on the floor- kids sunglasses and socks, If we walked around inside without shoes, our socks quickly became filthy - so I don't feel it was as cleaned up as it could have been. But make no mistake, it did not "look" or "feel" dirty, just minor issues causing me to rate it as good vs excellent 2. There is a foos ball table but it is backwards and does not work properly. The air hockey electronic score keeper did not work (had to trigger it maually which is really no big deal), I was surprised to find there were no kid size pool sticks or a bridge (especially handy for kids if they have to use adult size pool sticks). The video/DVD collection are quite old. Not a big deal as we watched tv one time for about 30 minutes. Again none of this is a major issue but did keep me from giving it an excellent review. 3. This is a bit odd to say, but I had no idea the barn was so close to the main house. It is literally right next door. The family who owns it is very nice and welcoming and since thery are from the area originally they had great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. But during our stay they, like any other family on a weekend might, were doing some work outdoors in the pasture and the driveway and so we felt a little like we were in their space. They did not make us feel this way at all - I cannot stress enough how friendly they family was. But it felt a little strange to me. It is just something I wish I had known ahead of time - I still would have rented the Red Barn and still would have had a nice visit, but would not have felt like we were invading someone else's space as much as I do now since I would have been prepared to be in the middle of their space (which again was my issue, not the owners). Overall a great experience and would recommend to others with the information above to set expectations.

Just returned from the most amazing girl's weekend here. We had 10 women stay and plenty of space. The barn is beautiful, comfortable & cozy. The land around it is breathtaking. We loved sitting around the fire pit taking it all in. Very close to Asheville and Hendersonville. Lots of great hiking nearby. Our favorite part was getting to know the amazing family who live here. Thank you for a very memorable getaway...we will definitely be back!

Asheville, Blue Ridge Pkwy-the "Red Barn" at Cobblestone Farm
Beautiful home in a peaceful country setting! The large game room with pooltable, TV and couches, and an airhockey table kept the kids entertained all day! We had a family gathering and had plenty of parking and was able to cook a large meal in the large kitchen to feed everyone. They had a fully furnished kitchen which supprised me for a vacation rental. The owners were welcoming but gave us plenty of privacy as well. The location is close to Asheville parkway and to downtown Hendersonville. It was a 5 minute drive to a nearby gas station and 10 minute drive to a local grocery store. The home was beautifully decorated and clean. The layout was open with lotts of space for the kids to play. The only problem we ran into was that it was a little hard to find, I don't think some of our guests could find it with their GPS systems, they still had to call for specific directions. But I would love to stay there again and highly highly recommend it for a family reunion, family get together, familys with small children or teenagers, and anyone wanting a relaxing family vacation. The area is amazing in the fall!...

Refreshed and Renewed!
I'm a family man with a wife and 4 kids and a few dogs, and we decided to be spontaneous. We called the evening we were wanting to arrive, and I was amazed to find that the owner, Alan, was very accommodating and welcoming. They hustled to ensure the house was ready for guests, and we arrived 3 hours later that evening. From the moment we walked in the door it was a wow factor of 10. This wasn't a vacation... just a getaway for my wife and kids while I work on my computer. Internet connection was great... using a 4G router that they provided. The sites are beautiful, but we didn't even get a chance to take those in... we stayed inside for most of the time there, and never felt bored or needed a change of scenery. We are city folk who are farmers at heart, and it made us come alive to be on such a peaceful property. Thank you both for being so accommodating and showing such hospitality. We look forward to coming back and spending more time outside. Until next time...

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Red Barn. The owners were very accommodating. We had everything we needed. The house was newer, clean with farmhouse decor that was just adorable. Our 4, 7 and 9 year old kids LOVED the game tables and bunk beds. They would have been happy just to stay at the house everyday instead of sightseeing. There was so much to do in the area we wished we could have stayed longer. The property was beautiful with hiking trails and pastures. My sister really enjoyed watching the horses and Scottish cows. I would highly recommend staying here. The only thing I would note is that there is no bathtub which could be bothersome to families with very small children. Our 4 year old normally takes baths but had no problem with the shower. Also, if staying with a large group, having one bathroom could be a little inconvenient at times. Great memories made at the Red Barn! Staying here really made our trip special. Thanks again to Alan, Lisa and the family!

Wonderful for families with small children!
Wonderful for families with small children!
My family and I just got back from staying at the Red Barn at Cobblestone Farm and can't say enough about the wonderful time we had there. It is conviently located near Hendersonville and within 1/2 our of Asheville, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and many other great areas. Our kids 4 and 6 loved the big driveway where they could ride their bikes, play baskeball, play on the playset, etc. Every evening the horses would come to the edge of the fence near the house and the kids loved seeing and petting them. Lisa and her family couldn't have been better hosts. They were very helpful and friendly and we felt more like we were visting friends then renting a property. In the evenings we would light a fire in the fire pit and the kids would make smores and then after the kids were in bed my husband and I would sit by the fire and enjoy the peaceful night with just the sounds of nature to keep us company. We can't wait to go back!!

About the owner: My husband and I both grew up in Western North Carolina. We love these mountains we call home. . We are avid outdoor enthusiasts!! Most of the time we are either traveling up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway or on one of the winding country roads on our road bikes or hitting the thousands of acres of trails on our mountain bikes. We also enjoy taking in one of our other favorite activities...fishing. Whether we are wading in with our fly rods on one of our many pristine mountain streams or floating down one of the many awesome rivers we are never disappointed. On our farm we have a small herd of Scottish Highland Cattle as well as a few horses and of course our dogs. We love our area and our farm so much that we felt like we should share it with others who would like to experience a taste of what we live with and are blessed with everyday!!
The Unique Benefits at this Barn:
When staying on our farm you will enjoy a unique relaxing setting where you will feel far away even though you are only minutes away from activities, exceptional dining and of course all the mountains have to offer.
