The Maison Rustiques is located in a lovely village surrounded by vineyards, and only minutes from the wonderful attractions the area has to offer. The city of Carcassonne with its magnificent castle is only 20 minutes away, while the Midi Canal running through Trebes is a 5 minute drive down the road.
Situated in Cathar Country, all of the crumbling fortresses and castles of the Cathars are readily accessible. However, if ruins aren't your thing, the Languedoc-Roussillon region is the worlds largest wine producing region...engage in a little 'wine tourism' in the local area. A sparkling specialty wine known as Blanquette de Limoux is produced in the area and pre-dates the invention of Champagne by at least 150 years. Well worth a try!

We had a great stay in this very comfortable house. The house has a wonderful rooftop terrace, and all the needed amenities (although wifi had not been hooked up yet, we were told it will be in any day!). It is in a great location for visiting Carcassonne and the Mediterranean, and it is close to shops and cafes. Scott is a gracious host and we felt very welcome. We highly recommend this home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
