This mountainside home is surrounded by beautiful tall trees and is nestled nicely along a quiet street. The house has a nice outside deck and yard, but the highlight are the spacious bedrooms and two cozy living rooms. Our group of three couples spent almost the entire weekend lounging by the fire in the upstairs living room and cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. Most importantly, the owners are nice, helpful, and easy to deal with; you will not have any problems! Also, very pet-friendly.

My husband and our two senior dogs spent a week at this lovely home in early October 2012 and had a wonderful vacation. We are seasoned house renters and this home was better equipped from the kitchen to the bathrooms to wood for the fireplace to high quality linens and extra pillows and blankets than any house we have previously rented. Our "rental box" of stuff we carry with us went right back into the car as we needed none of the staples and supplies! It was immaculate and cozy. Everything worked from heat to bathroom fans to lots of hot water to kitchen appliances. The owner really should emphasize the incredible views on the drive to the house from Waitsfield as they were stunning, refreshing, and made us smile several times a day as this is why we came to Vermont for our 5th trip in 10 years. We were close to so many option for eating out that we didn't even cook! The whole house was easy to live in and well located for hiking and sightseeing along with day trips to central and northern Vermont towns and cities. The yard was perfect for our dogs with room to play and run. There is nothing we would change or recommend to improve!

Brought my friends for their first visit to Vermont and they had a great time, the house was perfect. My favorite part about the house is getting to the house, absolutely beautiful road that leads to it offering great views. Close to hikes and the cute town of Waitsfield.

There was so much to love about this place, which we visited in the summer. First, the owner was very pleasant to deal with. He also gave us detailed information about the kid-friendly attractions in the area, without my even having to ask. He answered any questions that we had and was eager to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. Second, the house itself was as portrayed in the listing. It was clean and well-maintained. It was a very comfortable home, with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for my two daughters, and two upstairs bedrooms and a bathroom for the rest of us. The house has a great deck and large amount of land behind it. The views were wonderful and a plus was the fire pit in the back yard-- perfect for roasting marshmallows! Third, the property was in a great location. It afforded much privacy yet is conveniently located to lakes, galleries and craft shops, the Sugarbush area for more physical activities (ziplining and bungee trampolining) and Vermont's famed covered bridges. It is also near some wonderful hiking trails. We did not eat in any restaurants, preferring to cook at home (easy to do with a kitchen complete with the usual appliances plus toaster and microwave), but there are local food establishments that look good. We would definitely rent this place again. We hope that we can stay longer next time.

We just came back from a most amazing week here. The house is perfectly outfitted with all you could ever need, all appliances, 2 tis, big wonderful beds, gorgeous back yard...and is situated in the perfect spot to explore the many wonders of the Mad River Valley and all of Central Vermont. Can not speak highly enough of the home, the owners and the perfect location close to swimming holes, great hikes, and one of my favorite restaurants in the Valley, Ake's Den. Walk out of the house and step into one of greatest views of the Valley and the Mad River Glenn Ski Area. Since departing a few days ago, all I can do is think of how to get back there. Thanks so much to the owners for everything! A marvelous house indeed!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during “stick season”. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed for a week away with our two young boys. The basement had 2 large baskets of toys and ride-on toys. Between the basement and the backyard our boys were in heaven. The fireplace was wonderful every evening. The house is private and secluded yet with easy access to downtown Waitsfield and surrounding areas. It was a great central spot for our many day trips. We were able to bring our dog which was an added bonus. Thanks again to Dave who was wonderful and super responsive and easy to work with in setting up the rental and during our stay. We will definitely be back! The Dalys

This was the most relaxing vacation we've had as a family in years. The house had everything you could possibly need and accommodated our dog as well which made it extra special. The hiking trail at the top of the hill, quiet road for long walks in the AM/afternoon/PM, the large yard to sit and relax or to watch our daughter and dog run around in...all wonderful. Weren't expecting television, but even that was nice on a couple of evenings! We have aspirations to own a second home and this is the location, setting and type of house we'd buy! It was really perfect. We hiked, biked, swam and kayaked up at Blueberry lake. All terrific, thanks Dave, we had a wonderful time, already to book for next summer, not surprised you're already booked this winter!

Terrific place. Real working kitchen, comfortable beds, fire pit in the large back yard and beautiful deck. Friendly and responsible owner. Pretty much a perfect rental.

Owner response: Much Thnaks! We to have rented homes.... What we found from renting other homes which were lived-in is that they were sometimes only moderately clean. Because of that experience and since this is a second home and sees little use we committed to keeping it at as high level of clean as possible, what we like to refer to as "hotel clean". In addition, we try to equip it with as much as someone would need, we also believe in catering to the needs of each party renting which includes helping them with local activities, event resources, recreation equipment, etc. It's soo good to hear from folks who have enjoyed our home. Thnaks again,, Dave & Gretchen

The views were beautiful from the deck and backyard. The rental had everything we needed to be comfortable for the week - well maintained property inside and out. Attached garage very useful in our cleanup after our long hikes. Owner of rental contacted us the first and last day to assure we were well informed of all amenties and his contact info. If you enjoy hiking this was a terrific property location to many hiking trails. We especially enjoyed the convenience of the hiking trails located at the end of the road (no need to get in a vehicle). My husband and I will definitely return to this property for future Fall vacations. Thanks Dave

Location (private yet easily accessed) - furnishings - cleanliness - flexibility......this home has it all. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation week. This property is very welcoming. The back yard and deck are private and great for kid fun, playing and outdoor entertainment. The hiking trails at the top of the hill gave us lots to explore. The owners provide excellent customer service and show interest in maintaining their property. We would absolutely recommend this rental home.

"We arrived to be greeted by Dave the owner and immediately felt at home. Grabbed a bottle of wine and proceeded to relax on the front deck, aaahhh! The beds were comfortable and the three grown boys that came with us occupied the basement and were very comfortable our daughter had her own room and nestled right in. That evening, we had a huge bonfire in the fire pit and with another bottle of wine; was a very fitting end to the beginning of a fantastic Vermont summer vacation. Our two Golden Retrievers had a great time and were right at home. This is a great vacation home and the owner is very accomodating."

Enjoyed a two wonderful one week stays this summer and fall. The October stay was amidst the fall colors. We thoroughly enjoyed the restfulness of this super clean home with its simple comfortable furnishings. Great views from the deck and proximity to central Vermont to visit all the attractions. Comfortable beds are a must on our list…they were comfortable. Enjoyed the short distance to Waitsfield village for supplies. This home is suitable for people with limited mobility from the parking level. We will certainly be returning again as we think of this home our home away from home

This house was as advertised, clean and well-maintained, in a very quiet and private setting. Even the fireplace was prepared for lighting! Dave, the owner, was friendly and helpful. Since it is centrally located in the state, we were able to take many side trips. This would be a great place for 2 couples (even a second fireplace on the lower level) or a couple with children, or just a cozy place for 2.

The owner knocked our socks off with how clean his place was and the fact that there were flowers around. We had quiet relaxing evenings on the deck with views of the valley. Our kids would play in the yard, feilds, and streams all within line of site (a big deal to my wife). One evening was rounded off with lighting the fire pit... My Anne liked the fact that we were close to town but in a private setting with a new favorite hiking trail near by. With the few rentals we have had in Mad River Valley this place and the owner have won us back again this upcomming summer! Thanks Dave! William B. & Family, NC/
