Charming & Kid-Friendly
Charming & Kid-Friendly
Recently stayed at this house with my husband and children (ages 4 1/2, 2 1/2, and 10 months) and my brother, sister and 7-month-old nephew. We traveled from Maryland and my brother, sister & nephew from upstate New York. Our mother lives in Bath and our grandparents in Woolwich, so we wanted a rental nearby. We had a great deal of difficulty locating the house initially, but once we did we discovered its location is pretty central. We found the house surprisingly amenable to the little ones. The only challenge we faced was keeping our crawling, climbing baby boy from scaling the main staircase. A baby gate at the bottom would be advisable. The day we arrived was an unusually hot, muggy day and the heat was rather oppressive inside the house, but after opening every window with a screen in it and turning on all the fans, we awoke the next morning to find it had cooled down quite nicely. The breeze from the river in the evening was lovely. We tried bathing all three kids in the master bath's jacuzzi tub. It was fun for them, but we found it challenging to reach them and ended up having to get in with them. Made some funny memories this way! Anyone staying here with a baby would be well advised not to keep the baby in the master bedroom. There are no curtains on the windows and our son woke up at 4 am with the sunrise and was ready to get up and go! It was incredible to wake up to the birds singing and the bullfrogs croaking in the pond. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again, though perhaps at a different (cooler) time of year.

Very Fun Family Farmhouse
Very Fun Family Farmhouse
This property is without a doubt a family-friendly home. My fiancé (now husband), three of my older children (ages 17-21), my sister and her husband, a friend from Alaska and friend from Idaho stayed here during the week leading up to our wedding. We not only had a great time, the home was centrally located and just minutes from where we were getting married. If you are planning a stay in the Bristol, Walpole, Damariscotta area, a stay here will not disappoint. The house is charming, very spacious, well-maintained and very clean. The owner was very helpful, accommodating and provided outstanding customer service.
