Boulder Crest, Historic Lakeview Hideaway in Lake Arrowhead
- Minimum stay:3 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Boulder Crest is an historic 1920’s cabin built on top of great
boulders looking over Lake Arrowhead. This is the mountain-cabin fantasy come true - except that it comes with new mattresses, down comforters, washer
and dryer, chrome cookware, Wi-fi and all of the things that maintain the romance without sacrificing the comforts.
Boulder Crest occupies a double lot, which allows for privacy,
outside recreation and parking for four cars. This beautifully
preserved cabin was featured on the Lake Arrowhead Home Tour. Until recently the cabin has never been rented.
The romantic interior is all wood with a large, rock fireplace. It
includes three bedrooms (two of which overlook the lake) and two bathrooms. Boulder Crest is ideal for sharing since
the “bunkroom”, which contains two double beds built into the pine walls, has its own entrance, bath and deck. There is a queen-size bed in the main bedroom; a double bed in the guest bedroom; two doubles in the bunkroom. New down comforters and pillows are included for each bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including an O’keefe and Merrit
stove. The refrigerator has a filtered, ice maker.
There is a barbecue on the very large deck overlooking the lake.
Wi-fi, Cable TV, VCR, CD player, coffee maker, microwave, washer and dryer are also included. There are two thermostat-controlled furnaces.
The cabin, which is within walking distance to Arrowhead Village,
also comes with access to the dock on the lake and a pass to the beach clubs.
Check in time is 2pm and Check out time is 11am, unless otherwise agreed upon.

This was our second time at Boulder Crest, and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first. Warm and cozy inside, with a giant fireplace to keep you toasty. Gorgeous views of the lake from the deck and upstairs bedrooms. It's a nice walk around the lake to Arrowhead Village, and peaceful and quiet in the neighborhood. The cabin is clean and well maintained and the owners are a pleasure to deal with. Great place to stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family was looking to get away to the mountains for a few days after the holidays for some snow. Boulder Crest was the perfect place for us. Homey with beautiful views, we didn't even have to leave the cabin to enjoy ourselves. We got five inches of snow one night, and enjoyed sliding down the small hill in the side yard. We also took a nice walk down to the lake and found a snow covered beach where we could make snowmen. We watched the sun set over the lake from the balcony, and nights were spent playing games by the rock fireplace. The owners obviously love this house and you will too.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I enjoyed our stay so incredibly much. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and it was perfect. The lake view was absolutely spectacular and we would just sit out on the deck for hours enjoying the view. The decor was so perfect. The lamps lit at night made the cabin seem magical. We brought our dog and she so enjoyed the cabin and especially the deck. We were there for Halloween which was so much fun as we had a load of trick-or-treaters come to the house. There were a ton of blue jays which we fed peanuts to. My suggestion is to buy a lot of peanuts because we went through about four big bags in about 2 days. The ambience of the cabin was something that everyone should experience. The owner, Kenneth, was so accommodating. The TV was experiencing cable difficulty and Kenneth had someone up there the next day to fix it. It was a problem that other homes were experiencing as well. Everything that you need is there. Just bring yourselves and some food. Thank you, Kenneth, for a truly magical experience. We will definitely be return guests.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Great cabin. Good sized family room, enough room for everyone to hang out. Probably the best view of the lake around. Deck overlooks lake and is large. Location is perfect, within walking distance of village (probably 1 1/2 miles - my guess) and a short walk to a small market. Kitchen is well stocked with all need cooking items. Cabin was neat and clean with all linens provided.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Hi Kenneth, We really love the cabin. It was well beyond our expectations. We really appreciated the amazing craftsmanship throughout, as well as the way you decorated it with the arts and crafts pieces. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. We also enjoyed the amazing sunsets from the deck every evening. What a great location! I have included a photograph of one of the sunsets. The clouds were incredible that day. We can't wait to return! Thank you for sharing your special home with us. Sincerely, John and CarolDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A one of a kind cabin. Beautifully maintained and decorated and a great view of the lake. It has tremendous charm and character. I rented it for out of state family members and they loved it. They used words like amazing and magical to describe it. The owner was great and made the entire transaction very easy. I will definitely rent it again when the needed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cabin is happily unique. It's full of nostalgia and unlike an ordinary cabin. Oversized comfy furniture. Huge fireplace made of rock, best ever. The deck is large with great views and a feeling of privacy. The kitchen is small but completely doable. The collectable stove and oven worked better than my modern oven at home. We found everything we needed to prepare meals for six adults. Another amazing thing was the heater. Unimaginable how well that thing heated, could not believe it. The bathrooms are small. Only one shower on the lower level however there is a tub on the top level with a big window viewing the lake. Doors and windows everywhere, loved that too. Especially one of the front doors that opens to a massive boulder. Hence the name. You don't need to bring much. Cabin has all the electronic devises you need including cords. Movies, music, books and loads of board games and puzzles. We played trivial pursuit. Cards too. Sleeping arrangements lend complete privacy as the cabin is 3 levels. So many other unique features also, like the light fixtures. Very cool. Best part of our trip was the owner Kenneth. Our transaction was completely painless. No dealing with getting keys from realtors or other outsiders. You just deal directly with Kenneth. He's a nice guy. Quick to respond and answers the phone when you call. I felt very comfortable dealing with him. We had a fantastic time and we will return next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Boulder Crest is a fantastic place. It is so full of history and charm, with something new discovered at every turn. The house is so comfortable that we felt like we were home within 10 minutes of being in the place. After rain the first night, the weather turned completely, and was beautiful for the rest of our stay. The lake sparkled, and we even saw a bald eagle gliding near the shore. The house comfortably accommodated the 6 adults and 1 infant that we were. Large leather sofa, love seat and chairs made for a very cozy setting around the beautiful stone fireplace. At the same time, privacy was never an issue. The deck is incredible. It is very large, with plenty of seating, and the view of the lake and surrounding mountains is spectacular. It doesn't get any better! The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner and found everything we needed to get the job done. Boulder Crest is conveniently located; within easy walking distance to Jensen's Market, and a short drive to Lake Arrowhead Village. We had a truly memorable week at Boulder Crest, and will DEFINITELY be returning in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
