The location of this stunning home cannot be believed. Located right on a long sandy beach, 30 feet from high tide, with views of Hornby, Texada, and Lasquiti Islands. Great for a walk in bare feet while enjoying the salt air or taking it all in from the new hot tub. Or, you could get out your fishing rod and enjoy fishing on what is arguably the best fishing beach in the area. Arrowsmith Golf Course, an exec 18 hole course is five minutes away. All beds have new quality linens, pillows and towels.
This house has all the comforts of home including high speed internet, 40 inch tv with surround sound connected to cable, DVD player, stereo, washer/dryer, air-tight wood fireplace insert.
Relax on the comfy furniture on the large deck. Attached to the deck is a hot tub that seats up to six people comfortably. It’s a great location to sit entranced by the waves lapping on the beach or the stars overhead at night.
There is so much to do – walk on the beach, watch the wildlife which includes seals, sea lions and eagles, go for a swim, or go fishing. Between Nile Creek and Big Qualicum River, this is one of the best fishing beaches on the coast. There are numerous golf courses within 30 minutes, including Arrowsmith and Memorial Golf Courses.
Great seafood abounds in this area and you can easily purchase fresh oysters from Fanny Bay Oysters or fresh scallops from Island Scallops. Locally caught fish are available at many stores. In the summer, there are wonderful farmer’s markets at Courtenay, Qualicum Beach and Coombs where you can buy amazing fresh produce in a unique atmosphere.
There are many parks within 1 hours drive including: Horne Lake Provincial Park, Englishman Falls Provincial Park, Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, Milner Gardens, Mount Washington and Cathedral Grove Provincial Park with its ancient trees.

In HIGH season, June 20 to September 12, rental is from Saturdays to Saturdays with few exceptions.
Rental Rates, Fees, Deposits and Cancellation Policy
a. The total Rental Fee is $1800 per week and includes any applicable taxes and other applicable charges to be paid at the time of booking, as well as a refundable security / damage deposit of $500, for a total of $2300. Shorter stays and fees will be decided on discussions with the Homeowner.
b. Guests must give notice of cancellation at least 60 days prior to the booking date in order to receive a refund. If, in the event of unforeseen circumstances the Guest cannot honor the reservation and must cancel within the 60 days, the Homeowner will do his best to rent the home, and if successful, will refund all funds paid by the Guest less any minimal costs associated with obtaining another Guest.
c. The security / damage deposit shall be refunded within 21 days of the Checkout Date provided no deductions are made due to:
i. damage to the property or furnishings other than normal wear and tear;
ii. dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning; or
iii. any other cost incurred by Homeowner due to Guest’s stay.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.

The last two provide day trips to the magnificent Sandy Island Marine Provincial Park (also known as Tree Island) http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/sandy_is/ which we highly recommend or launch the kayak at the beach at Qualicum Bay, a nice semi-rural community. Close to Island Scallops (www.islandscallops.com), Fanny Bay Oysters, excellent oysters and seafood there are a number of places where you can buy fresh fish.
There are excellent farmer's markets at Qualicum Beach, 15 minutes drive, http://qbfarmersmarket.com/; in Errington, 20 minutes drive, erringtonfarmersmarket.ca; and Comox Valley Farmers Market in Courtenay, 30 minutes drive, http://www.comoxvalleyfarmersmarket.com/. All run on Saturday mornings, so if you want some fresh produce prior to checking in at 4 pm - these are great places to visit. There is a very excellent grocery store in Qualicum Beach (Quality Foods) and a good grocery store (Tomm's) at Bowser, 4 minutes north of the house. Bowser also has shops for liquor, gas, hardware, art, gifts, credit union, library and post office.

These are current schedules, but it's good to check as the schedule can change. We recommend that you make a reservation as in the summer the ferries can get booked which can mean waiting for the next ferry. Once in Nanaimo - you take Highway 19A . We recommend 19A as it is the older route that follows the coast, slower but more scenic and takes about one hour or more. Highway 19, the freeway, takes 45 minutes and you use the Horne Lake, Spider Lake exit and drop down to 19A, Island Highway West, and left (north-west) for aprox., three miles to Qualicum Bay.
We are located at Qualicum Bay ... on the ocean side. The best landmark is the Crown and Anchor Roadhouse Pub on the other side of the road about 200 meters from the house. The pub has good local music (bluegrass, country, acoustic etc) and the food is pretty decent. The Sandbar Café, 300 meters is a pleasant restaurant with live music jams several nights a week and Henry’s Kitchen a Chinese restaurant near by. A burger stand, taco stand and ice cream shop open for the summer in the same area.
