Ballyferriter house description
This is a newly built architect designed holiday home. Described in B Wedding magazine as a luxurious house having been selected by a featured couple as their honeymoon destination. It is very comfortable and bright. It has a large open area. The kitchen is designed to a high standard. Alot of thought has gone into the design of this home e.g the cooker is positioned in a central position to encourage a more social experience whilst cooking. There is no television downstairs however there is a television room upstairs with reclining chairs and footstools.
This house is located on the famed Slea Head Drive. This area of Kerry was described in The Lonely Planet travel guide as possibly the most beautiful place in the world. The scenery is unique. You will be enthralled by the amazing 360 degree vistas that dominate this peninsula, particularly west of Dingle town itself.
Within 1 km radius of the house are a choice of beaches, restaurants, Ballyferriter village, early-christian settlement ruins and an18 hole links golf course. The house is situated on the old saints way which is a beautiful and ancient walkers route. The house is in a quiet, nestled position just off the main road yet very convenient to it. There is a babbling stream just beyond the boundary of the property.
Just 6kms away is the busy town of Dingle which has many attractions- boat trips to meet Fungie the resident dolphin of Dingle Bay, top class restaurants, aquarium, boat trips to Blasket Island, theatre and cinema, great shops selling high quality local crafts, clothes, paintings and jewellery. However Dingle town is a great place to just walk around and soak up the atmosphere. There`s a farmers market every Friday morning. Dingle races and the Dingle Regatta are held in August but there are numerous festivals throughout the year. The firework display at Dingle harbour on New Year`s eve is a particular highlight.

Fantastic stay, wonderful house & location.
Fantastic stay, wonderful house & location.
We stayed in this beautful home from July 29- August 5, 2013. It is a quiet & peaceful place to stay, off the main roads yet close to the towns of Ballyferriter & Dingle. We had 3 of us from America & 5 family members from Germany and each couple had their own private bedroom & bath. There was a lagre dining room & table & large living room. (living room both downstairs & upstairs) We had plenty of room for private quiet times and enough room for us all to get togther. The Dingle peninsula has so much to offer, & this house puts you within easy access to it all. Gallarus oratory, beaches & mountains, hiking, goats, beehive huts, and pubs in Ballyferriter & restaurants, pubs with live music, Guinness (well this is everywhere!), shopping & just wondering around & sightseeing in Dingle. We didn't have time to do it all but next time will try fishing & boating. Fiona (the owner) could not have been more helpful & informative & Caroline, who cares for the house, was as kind & wonderful as she could be, greeting us with fresh cut flowers & fresh scones! Hope Kerry won the football match! Looking out of the houses large windows, we sometimes could see sunshine and rain at the same time, depending on which window you were looking out of! This is a great place to stay for a couple, small family or family get together as we had. Great accomodations, so much to do on the Dingle peninsula, very convenient location, & helpful owner & caregiver. I highly recommend this house. Thank you Fiona & Caroline for a wonderful first visit to Ireland. Slan!
