Welcome to a bird-watcher's paradise! Harbor Island recently has been awarded the coveted classification as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by the National Audubon Society.
Do you long for quiet walks on an uncrowded beach, for a get-away where you can relax and put your feet in the sand? If so, then beautiful Harbor Island is right for you! Harbor Island, a gated community, is located on the coast between Charleston and Savannah, 14 miles from historic Beaufort. The island has 2-1/2 miles of uninterrupted white sand beach.
This island paradise is for anyone who enjoys natural beauty! Even in peak season, the island and beach are uncrowded. Wildlife is abundant!
Our ground-floor condo has easy access to the beach and pool from both the front and back doors. The unit sleeps four with a queen-sized bed and a queen-sized sleeper sofa.
Location of our condo to the ocean:
Our condo building would be directly oceanfront except that it is turned at an angle to the beach rather than being parallel to it. As such, from our deck, when one looks to the right, the view extends across approx. 80 feet of grass to the edge of the sand dune system and across the dunes to the water.
From our deck, one has a view of the ocean, palm trees, dunes, and a swimming pool, lawn, and other villas. A boardwalk begins at the end of our building and leads directly to the beach--a 60-second walk over untouched dunes.
Hunting Island State Park (next island) is home to abundant wildlife, nature trails, and the only lighthouse in S.C. open to the public.
In the mood for some sightseeing and shopping? There's plenty to do nearby. Historic Beaufort is a 20-minute drive, and Savannah and Charleston are both just an hour's drive.
Harbor Island is an unspoiled island paradise, a perfect vacation place for the whole family where one can leave the crowds behind and relax comfortably in a beautiful natural setting. We look forward to sharing our lovely villa and the magic of Harbor Island with you.

The condo association requires the purchase of a $50 per week gate pass per vehicle. For 2 through 5 nights, the cost is $10 per night for the gate pass.

Why the Owner Chose Harbor Island
We fell in love with the tranquility and abundant natural beauty of Harbor Island and the surrounding coastal area. In addition, we are long-time bird watchers, and some of our most prized photographs to date are from scenes in one of the island's rookeries.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
We never know what wildlife beauty we will encounter. Each trip to the beach promises opportunity for new surprises: a school of dolphins frolicking off shore, a Tricolored Heron fishing in a tide pool, a tiny frog hopping along the board walk, a baby Loggerhead Turtle crawling across the beach on its maiden voyage to the sea... a tiny fragment of the many delightful discoveries we have encountered on Harbor Island.

Dear Gloria and John, We can not thank you enough for letting us rent your beautiful condo for our trip to SC for our son graduation from Parris Island! We stayed at E-106 from Nov. 29, 2006 to Dec. 2, 2006. Our son's graduation was on Dec. 1st. Harbor Island is about a 20 minute drive to Parris Island. E-106 is VERY clean, and everything you need is right there at your finger tips! We loved walking the beach, and after graduation our son's friends were able to come and relax and catch up on being apart for 3 months. It was so nice to have a comfy place to relax in after long days walking around. Gloria is wonderful to work with. We highly recommend staying here! I met up with a friend from North Carolina, and we spent a long weekend at this lovely condo on Harbor Island. The condo is very cozy and has everything one could need - in an absolutely beautiful setting, too. It was a very warm late September, and we took advantage of the spectacular beach nearby, where we wound up swimming with the dolphins and watching some magnificent flocks of birds. There are lots of great restaurants nearby, including a little roadhouse that features the absolute best fried food I have ever eaten! Beaufort is a just a short drive away, and there's lots to see and do there, too. However, we had a hard time tearing ourselves away from Harbor Island. If you're looking for some quiet, relaxing time at the beach, this is the way to go. I hope to return to Harbor Island in the not-too-distant future, and I will keep my fingers crossed that this lovely little condo is available!

Your condo was wonderful, perfect for the 4 of us. Very clean and nicely decorated. We had never stayed on Harbor Island before but camped on Hunting a couple summers ago. We really enjoyed it. It was nice to have the boardwalk right @ the condo but I liked the one a couple over that didn't have steps so it was easy to wheel my daughters wheel chair to the beach.Having a pool literally right at the back door was great as well as the other two pools. The kids loved the kiddie pool @ the raquet club. I will definately keep your info so that I can contact you again when we go back there. Thanks for being so helpful and easy to work with.

My family and I stayed at this condo for one week in July and it was great. It was very clean and exactly what we expected. The beach was close by and was private and very nice. The pool is so close you can even see it from the back balcony! There is also a state park about 5 minutes up the road that was beautiful. Great secluded location!

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. We like to do our own cooking so a fully equipped kitchen was certainly a bonus! Spent one day in Savannah, another in Beaufort and the rest of the time, reading and walking on the beach. Just what we needed! P.S. While in Savannah, we did a walking tour of the city with Savannah Dan - left his card on the frig. We can highly recommend him to anyone who's visiting in the area. Just a great guide, so full of stories and very funny!

Everything was absolutely fantastic! It was a get away that we didn't want to leave. The condo was perfect and made for a very nice and pleasant stay. Harbor Island is a place we enjoyed visiting and will return soon. Mona says we need to come back more often so we'll be contacting you again and I've already told several about our experience. My husband and I rented this condo when I was 5 months pregnant. We had a great time. It was a nice relaxing trip. We really enjoyed having a pool so close to the condo. We also loved going to the beach in the evening. It was very romantic and secluded.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on Harbor Island. The condo was clean and was stocked with all the amenities we needed while on our trip. It was wonderful to explore Beaufort and the surrounding areas. Because the condo is centrally located, it was easy to take day trips to Savannah and Charleston. I would definitely recommend the condo to other families looking for a quiet getaway!
