Sisters house description
Welcome to our family vacation home!
My Mom and Dad moved our family to Oregon in 1962. On advice of a family friend, my parents brought us for a visit to Sisters Oregon in 1967 because my Dad was missing the large pine trees from the East Coast. One visit to this Central Oregon oasis was all it took to make us believers! They bought property in 1967, built a cabin in 1971, remodeled in 1981, and built a new addition in 1991. The house is 1968 square feet now.
I worked and spent most of my childhood summers in Sisters. I have so many great memories of hiking, fishing, hitting the lakes, horseback riding, cycling, and just enjoying the high desert climate.
This house has high vaulted ceilings with large exposed wood beams, the walls are mostly cedar. The living room has plush new leather couches and recliners to read and chat. The family room has movies, ping-pong, a bistro area, and a large area to play. The front and back decks allow a summer breeze to play off Juniper trees and Ponderosa pines. In the winter, the expansive windows allow a beautiful view of falling snow as you enjoy a warm fire and a good book.
In addition to great events such as the Quilt Show, the Sisters Rodeo, the Antique Show, etc., Sisters has everything you need to keep you comfortable and entertained. The shops are fun, the food is great, and there are full service stores to keep you stocked!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is comfortable and cozy. The owner gave us great recommendations for places to eat and visit. The house is in a quiet, relaxing, private setting. The perfect place to unplug and unwind.

Long weekend in Sisters
Long weekend in Sisters
We have rented more than 12 times on VRBO. This home was warm and cozy and full of nice amenities. Real dishes instead of scratched up plastic was one of my favorite parts! Lots of kitchen accessories and comfy couches. We had ping pong tournaments and enjoyed the peaceful setting. To those of you who are picky about certain things: there is no bathtub, only a shower, this is not a place to go watch the big game or movies, only a small old fashioned TV, and no gas BBQ grill, just the small version of the Webber. Despite that, the house is really quite lovely with deer in the evening, the rural setting is peaceful and quiet and you can ride your bikes for miles of minimal traffic roads. And, amazingly priced!

Owner response: Thank you for your comments Fonda! We have been asked before if we plan on moving from a 27” TV set to a more modern flat screen and if we plan on adding full time Internet. The gas BBQ upgrade is a first time suggestion. We certainly will take these in consideration as we evaluate the rural family home verses full time rental….and we are trying to keep the place as affordable as possible. As you know, it is a great place with some a “homey” feel for a fair price! Thanks again, we hope you are a guest again soon.
We just had the most wonderful week in Sisters! This house had everything we needed to make our vacation perfect (except perhaps a flat screen above the fireplace for all the football games we were trying to watch after a long day of skiing ;~) ). The location was premium as well. We had 2 adults, 3 kids and a few visitors throughout the week and there was plenty of room for us all. The big yard was perfect to let the kids loose to built snow forts and ramps for sledding. The house has a warm, comfortable atmosphere where you're excited to come back to and relax after a day out. We would stay here again with zero hesitation! Thank you!!

We had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday here. As climbers we usually camp at Smith, so this was a nice change and a chance for them to see Sisters! A nice place to come back to after a long day of climbing goodness at the park! Thank you!

Rental was as represented; comfortable, clean, quiet, located close to Sisters and all that Sisters has to offer. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware. As I would have expected, one needs to bring all of one's condiments, spices, etc. Internet connection and stereo that accommodates MP3 devices would be a plus. In reality, would sleep only five people comfortably. The owner was quite helpful orienting us to his property. We would recommend this property to others.

Owner response: Thank you for being our guest and for sharing your thoughts with us. We are looking into Internet during the peak season for the future. You are correct on the bedroom accommodations (sleeps 5). We do offer the three couches, two sleeper chairs, and two air mattresses for over flow or the adventurous! Thank you again, we hope to have you stay with us again.
Great place to stay!
Great place to stay!
The house was excellent - so clean and so organized for comfort and enjoyment. Doesn't have internet, but does have a ping pong table. I highly recommend it for a relaxing vacation. Perfect location for the Sisters, Oregon area. An easy bike ride from town on bikes rented from either of two bike shops in Sisters. Excellent mountain bike trails in the Sisters City limits and beyond. Excellent hiking trails within 45 minutes. Or just sit on the expansive deck and enjoy the landscape. Complete kitchen available and easy access to great food at any of the restaurants in Sisters, Black Butte Ranch, Suttle Lake, or Bend. The owners are wonderful to work with. Thank you for a great time in a beautiful location!

Owner response: Thank you very much! We enjoyed having you as a guest and hope to have you back again soon.
The owner was very easy to work with and accomodating of our needs. There was plenty of room for the kids to ride bikes, or just go for a walk around the neighboorhood. There was also a great place to park the RV that was easy to get in and out. A very relaxing setting to just get away!

Nice Time in a Nice Place
Nice Time in a Nice Place
After an orientation with the owner by phone, everything was just as nice we were led to believe. We had a fun time strolling around Sisters and a scenic 25-mile bicycle ride out to Black Butte and back with very little traffic. There were several younger children riding around the small neighborhood development, too. We also had some quiet reading time in the house to unwind after a little ping pong, and a lively dinner at the popular Three Creeks Pub on the edge of town (adjacent to the movie theater). It was a great weekend get-away!
