Comfy, casual four season lake house. We have enjoyed this home as our family getaway for the past 10 years. If you want a cup of coffee in the morning watching the ducks land on the lake from the family room or lay in the hammock watching the sun set to the sounds of laughter, kids and boats....Yup, it's this place. The evenings can bring a bonfire in the fire pit by the lake and star gazing which will truely take your breath away. Keep your eyes open for the deer and wild turkey and don't leave your T-shirt on the deck, we have a little red squirrel that will eat it! If you are looking for a showroom rental this may not be for you. In other words, there are a few honey do's to be found but who has time for work when the lake is calling. It is definitely clean, neat, and very homey. Pet and children friendly.

We had an excellent time here! This house was halfway between my sister and I to travel to meet for a vacation. We had children ages 4-13 and there was plenty of fishing and playing in the water for everyone. Everything was so clean, and looked exactly like the pics on the site. We even saw the squirrels visiting the yard and deer and turkeys nearby. We enjoyed the huge kitchen and eating area, and there were plenty of beds to sleep in so everyone had their own space. We went for walks and rode bikes, went shopping, and had lots of fun playing games and watching movies. Thanks Jackie!

This is fast becoming our favorite family vacation destination while in WI. Most of our family lives in or around WI so we frequently come for visits and we call Lake Camelot home. This place is awesome if you have a large family! The basement play area and "bunk room" allows for the kids to have their own space while giving the parents time to hang out around the large dining room table for a game of cards or a few Old Fashions... hey, when in Rome :) The well equipped kitchen lets us cook at home, save a little money and spend more time together. Ever cook fish you caught while ice fishing? Pretty Cool! You will want for nothing while there. Forget something at home? No worries! This is not one of those places where you search in vain for coffee filters or a cork screw. It has all the comforts of home....and then some. The decor is warm and inviting. It feels lived in and LOVED... just my kinda place :) We have 2 large dogs who absolutely love this place too! There is a fenced in play area and no shortage of sticks to fetch in the water. The sunsets from the dock or the hammock are unforgettable. An evening bonfire with roasted marshmallows rounds out the day nicely. It is only a short drive to some of WI major tourist attractions for the adventurer in the crowd. There is no shortage of rock climbing, cliff diving, mountain biking, hiking and white water rafting if you can bear to drag yourself off the raft lulling you to sleep. THIS IS THE GOOD LIFE!

Our extended family group of 8 had a perfect long Easter weekend at the house on Lake Camelot. All of its lakeside pleasures were not yet available as wintery weather, snow and ice on the lake, still had a grip. It even rained one entire day and yet all 8 family members agreed this was the perfect setting for comfy togetherness in a clean, spacious, airy feeling cottage where every detail has been thought of and provided for. A large well-provisioned kitchen--lots of windows and light--huge flat screen TV on an extension so as to position it without blocking the lake view--3 beautifully tiled full baths--so pet friendly with a well-designed gate system on decks for pet security and pet access to grassy( or snowy) side yard. We had a bonfire in the fire circle overlooking the lake and walked out on the ice to study the stars at night. Hiked at a nature preserve on nearby Lake Petenwell. Owner's book of things to do in the area was very helpful as were her very clear welcome letter and property instructions. A "Back to the Future" marathon (from the vast DVD library downstairs) while it rained entertained all 3 generations. We enjoyed the dining table for 8 that made family meals a pleasure. This is a charming, well-decorated "nest," and we can't wait until we can gather there again. Simply perfect for us!

I have been going up to Nekoosa/Rome for the past last 11 years for Labor Day weekend, always staying with family or at a local hotel. This year we decided to extend our stay and look into renting a house. I couldn’t have been more pleased. . Inside the house and outside, it feels like a real home and not a rental property. The house was very spacious and tastefully decorated. And the kitchen… I’m in love!!! Lots of room and everything you would need from dishes to spices. It was a thrill to FINALLY be able to host a dinner for my family (we always ate at their house or at a restaurant). The sunsets were awesome. A very relaxing place. There was something for everyone to do, the boys (16 and 17 years old) rode bikes, swam, boated, fished, did archery and played basketball. It was so nice not to hear “I bored” lol We definitely want to come back next year.

The location was great, backyard sloped right to sandy beach on lake. Our family enjoyed the space very much, want to come back again next year. Plenty of room for all in the cottage, and we really liked the open space from entry into kitchen and family room area. Everything a family might need was provided. The property was clean and well-kept. Owner was great and explained everything, all questions were answered promptly. Hope to come back in 2013.

Our family(wife & I, teenage son & daughter, grandmother, and dog) stayed at this gorgeous property for 1 week in early August, and can honestly say we have rarely enjoyed a vacation more! The home is situated right on the lake in quiet environs yet not too remote, has a great deck and terrific view, and a beautiful backyard that leads to the beach, dock, and water. The interior is charming and surprisingly spacious: it is comfortably furnished, equipped with a nice, large, and well-stocked kitchen, 3 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms upstairs and a cozy bunkroom on the lower level, and is very, very clean. It was more than ample to accommodate our family for the week. But as nice as the interior is, it is the home's location, the outdoor surroundings, and the lake that make this property a special place! The deck overlooks the lake and a naturally landscaped yard that slopes gently to the water. And the lake is inviting at any time of day: sunrise is peaceful with a bit of fog rising from the still water, a time to see otters by the dock or go for a run in the pines; midday and afternoon bring peak sun hours given the lot is on the southeast side of the lake, leading us to swim, boat, and read a book in the hammock or on the dock daily; sunset is breathtaking, as others have described, with a personality that varies by the day but is always vivid with color; night brings the backyard fire pit into play, and a panorama of blazing stars overhead. Finally, just a brief word about the owners, Jackie and Bill. They were both very accommodating and extremely helpful from the get go, answering any and all questions prior to our arrival, providing key pointers about area shopping and dining, and even sending a hand-drawn map showing those locations relative to the house. And on the night of our arrival, both called to ensure we were set up comfortably for the week. It is obvious they love the house and lake, and having stayed there, we can see why. We would happily return again! Note: The house currently has no internet access or wi-fi, no land line, and ATT cell phones don't work as ATT has no tower in Nekoosa. ATT cells will work once in Wisconsin Rapids, 12 miles north, where ther is a Walmart etc. Other carriers apparently do work at the house. Laptops can be used at the local library, 7 minutes from the home. Jackie & Bill were candid and upfront about this from the moment we contacted them.

We had 4 family units coming from 3 different states, and wanted our time together to really count. This house was PERFECT for us! Enough bedrooms and baths so everyone had their space and enough common area to have lots of options to spend time with each other. We loved having the beach, dock and lake access on the property. We almost got shut out on the fishing, but our daughter caught an 18" northern pike from the dock our last full day there. Gorgeous sunsets every night! Wonderful set up so our dog could be with us no matter what we were doing, inside or out. The kitchen is the BEST stocked kitchen we have ever encountered! Plenty of dishes, pans, spices, towels, etc. We hope to return next year!

Hi Bill, My wife and I wanted to tell you that we had a great time. The cottage was perfect and exactly the type of place we were looking for. We had a great time on the lake both fishing and swimming. Also, I think that we watched almost all of your movies ...great selection by the way...A couple of quick notes: We had very quick storm that blew through on Tuesday morning..it was incredible how strong the wind started blowing…3 of the tiki torchers tops were blown off. You may want to check them before lighting. We also had to use some of you charcoal, but went into town and bought a bag. We put the bag in the charcoal container below the bbq. Anyway, thanks again for helping us create great family memories…we all want to come back again.

This is an adorable and comfy home on a beautiful lake! We loved the pier, beach, and fire pit. Our kids enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and playing in the spacious yard. We brought our dog and the fenced in yard and deck were perfect for her. There were great walking paths in the woods nearby and we never ran out of things to do. The house has a relaxing atmosphere and is well maintained. We had a very nice vacation and will go back next year.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Our home is on the lake front with a private dock and sand beach. The beach has a gradual drop off and is perfect for small children and adults alike. To help you relax a love seat swing by the dock, double hammock or tree swing will do the trick. At night, sit by the fire pit, roast marshmellows, smores and gaze at the beautiful star lit night. Wildlife abounds, it's not unusual to see deer, wild turkey and an occasional turtle crossing the road on your way into town.
