My family and I had a truly enjoyable stay at Villa La Pergola-Ulivo for 9 days this past September. Reading all the positive reviews helped with my decision to book the Villa… the family and villa lived up to and exceeded every rave review! Our hosts could not have been more receptive and cordial and although we only had the pleasure of meeting Claudio once, he made sure we were happy and well cared for while his father Peter was always available and a true delight and gracious host. The six of us were quite comfortable in the three bedroom villa with plenty of towels and linens, large bathroom, in unit washer and the kitchen / dining area and living room accommodated us quite well. The gorgeous views of the olive groves and the city of Florence were breath taking and getting to Florence was quite easy as we had a car and drove to Scandicci and took the train into Florence travel time less than 20 minutes. Trips to nearby towns by car were easy as well and by being based at the villa taking the train from Florence to Rome and Venice was effortless. Hopefully one day soon we will be fortunate to go back to Florence and, without hesitation, stay at Villa La Pergola again. PS: The Family has a pottery and leather shop in Florence if you are looking for a treasured souvenir!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My family and I stayed at Villa La Pergola for almost three weeks over March - April of 2010, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa is located on a quiet hillside in Scandicci, which is a quick drive from Firenze (Florence) and actually overlooks the city. The villa was clean and well laid out with three bedrooms and one bathroom on the first floor and the kitchen / dining area and living room on the main floor. There was a bus stop just outside the villa which made getting in to Florence very easy. Return trips were a bit more of a challenge, and getting taxis in Scandicci often meant a wait of 30 minutes or more. We would strongly recommend having access to a vehicle if you're staying here. There are however, a small grocery store, a restaurant and a winery all within walking distance ofthe villa. Claudio and Sabine were absolutely wonderful! We hired Sabine to take us on a day trip to Lucca, which we found thoroughly entertaining and informative. Claudio's father is an absolute gem - our 3 year old got sick the day after we arrived, and Claudio's father very thoughtfully and kindly went to pick up some necessities for our child. When we left, we were already planning our next trip back!

My husband and I travelled with friends to Tuscany last summer and found this gem on VRBO website. It was absolutely perfect! We were 4 couples and rented two of the lodgings at Villa La Pergola. It's a must if you want to visit the Tuscan region of Italy and have a home base, especially in July! We would come back from our day trips and cool down in the pool with a breathtaking view of the valley and the city of Florence. We would make our own meals and dine outside by the pool under the pergola. I can't say enough about this place and the wonderful and helpful hosts. It was worth every penny and made our holiday as close to perfect as you can get. Thank you Claudio!

When my husband and I married, we wanted to spend our honeymoon in Florence, but our did not have the time or the finances. We promised ourselves that we would go someday and we did. We were thrilled to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversay at the Villa La Pergola. Everything about the Villa, our hosts, Claude and Sabine, and the city of Florence was marvelous. The Villa La Pergola is a beautiful home in the hills with stunning views of Florence and surrounding areas. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and handsome. Our hosts were welcoming and very informative. Sabine took us on a walking tour of Florence that was enjoyable and full of historical facts sprinkled with some surprises. I would do this again in a second! My only complaint is that my husband and our friends did not have another week to stay at the Villa. We will return.

We traveled to Villa la Pergola with our two children, our son-in-law, our daughter-in-law and our little granddaughter. Everyone loved Villa la Pergola. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We all visited Florence multiple times, using the quiet and sleek electric train available down in the valley. It was easy to access the autostrada if we wanted to visit other cities or the beautiful small towns of Tuscany. We enjoyed walking into the tiny village of San Martino alla Palma each morning to pick up delicious pastries for breakfast. The view of Florence from the pool was breathtaking. We especially loved shopping for food in the Central Market in Florence and cooking delicious dinners at the Villa. Though my husband and I have been to Florence many times, staying at Villa la Pergola with our family made it a truly memorable experience.

Dear Sabine, We had a very Relaxing holiday in your nice appartment. It feels a bit like coming home every day after visiting Firenze, Pisa, Sienna, Lucca, Livorno, Montecatini............... Toscane is very beautiful and this was very good location to explore the region. Although "just" lying at the pool was worth doing too! What a VIEW!!! (if only the water would not to be so cold, brrr!) We enjoyed some of the first sunny days for this year. Going back to holland comes too soon, but maybe we come back again to enjoy all the good things of Italy , Toscana, Firenze and Villa Oleandro! With love from Holland
