Stay in this spectacular villa with beautiful views of the Columbia Gorge within walking distance to downtown Hood River, Oregon located 60 miles east of Portland on the Columbia River. The Villa is a custom home with vaulted open-beam ceilings and views from every room.
Enter the Villa on the first of three floors and be greeted by a beautiful foyer with iron wall sconces, stone floors and faux painted walls. This floor features the media room, one bedroom, a full bathroom, laundry room and a two-car garage. The second level is the living areas and kitchen plus two bedrooms and full bathroom. The final and third story is the master suite. There are large windows throughout the house letting in the beautiful Hood River sun.
The 4200 square foot home features a gourmet kitchen with granite counters, custom DeWils cabinets and new Jenn-Air appliances including gas range, built-in oven/microwave combo, dish washer and a bar-top breakfast nook with 32” TV. The south facing patio offers the perfect place to relax with your morning coffee. Partially open to the kitchen, the dining room has views of the Hood River Bridge connecting Oregon and Washington and will comfortably seat up to 10 guests. You can cozy up in front of the fireplace in living room surrounded by views of the foliage, river and Mt. Adams. The north patio features dining for 6 and a large gas BBQ.
The master suite has views of the Columbia River and Mt. Adams, a Cal King bed with memory foam top, walk-in closet and master bath with walk-in shower and Japanese soaking tub. There are 2 bedrooms with new Queen pillow-top mattresses, 1 bedroom with a trundle that can be either a King, two twins or a single twin with pillow-tops, and the media room has a pullout Queen mattress with pillow-top.
The Master Suite encompasses the entire top floor of the Villa with a wall of windows facing the Columbia River and Mt. Adams. The serene and inviting suite offers plush bedding with a memory foam mattress top, walk-in closet and a spa bath with a private patio, Japanese soaking tub, walk-in shower with three shower heads and his/her sinks.
The Modern Bedroom is on the first floor of the Villa. It features clean crisp bedding with modern furniture and a pillow-top mattress.
The Media Room, also on the first floor, has a queen pullout couch with pillow-top mattress, comfy bedding and a 70' HDTV.
The Library Bedroom, on the second floor, houses the Villa's book collection for guest use, as well as a pillow-top queen bed with luxurious bedding and all the comforts of home.
The Studio, also on the second floor, offers guests a few options. The pop-up trundle can be either a king bed with a converter, two twins or a single. All of the bedding is chosen with your comfort in mind.
The entire Villa is wired with surround sound and can be synced to any iPhone, iPad, iPod or Droid allowing guests to carry their favorite music and radio stations on vacation. The media room features 7.1 surround sound with a 70' HDTV and full digital cable with HBO, Cinemax, Stars etc. The Villa is wired with Charter Internet, the fastest available in the Gorge. Guests may connect wirelessly from anywhere in the house. There is also a wireless printer available.
The garage holds two cars and there is driveway parking for two additional vehicles.
Pets are taken on a case-by-case basis and require an additional fee; please inquire. While we love children, the Villa is not the best place for small children; the minimum age is 6 years old.

We stayed at Hood River Villa in July and had a wonderful visit! This large and luxurious home is beautifully appointed, more sophisticated than we would have expected in a small resort town an hour from Portland. We really enjoyed the house, as well as the town of Hood River. Nice place for families to stay, but I would caution against bringing toddlers in, as there are three open staircases. The beamed ceiling on the main floor is dramatic and beautiful, the large dining table a great setting for extended family meals. There are several very good restaurants nearby, about a ten-minute walk. Great running trail a short drive away, but be prepared for hills ;)Owner response: Thank you so much for the review! We just came back from spending four nights in this gorgeous home and miss it already. We knew from the pictures online it would be nice, but it far exceeded our expectations! From the beautiful beamed ceilings and furnishings to the fine linens and comfortable beds we couldn't have been happier. This beautiful house is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The furnishings are dramatic and lovely, the beds fantastically comfortable. This owner has provided everything that one could possibly want. We have always said that we wouldn't want to stay anywhere that wasn't as nice as home and this place fills the bill! This was the perfect vacation rental for our stay in the gorge. Walking distance to downtown, and only a few minutes from the wind surfing beach it was an awesome location. This place had all the modern conviences you don't always get in vacation rentals, from the professional grade kitchen that made cooking a dream, to the awesome heating and cooling units (many homes in Hood River lack A/C). Not to mention the tankless water heater that never failed to provide all *10* of us with hot water. We also enjoyed movie night in the media room on the 70" HDTV! All that paired with the great customer service and having all our needs met, made for a wonderful experience. Can't wait for next year.Owner response: Thank you for your great review! About the owner: Thank you for taking the time to learn about our beautiful vacation rental. We moved to Hood River in September of 2011 not sure how long we were going to stay, or where we would live. After three years of traveling for our careers, we decided it was time to be in one place for a while. We found this home and couldn’t resist the opportunity to create a welcoming place for visitors to the Gorge. Both of us have had the opportunity to travel around the world. For Dave, the US Navy gave him the chance to experience new cultures while serving our country. After ten years as a Helicopter Crew Chief, he decided it was time for a change of pace. Taking a position with Insitu has allowed him to continue to work within the military sector while giving us the flexibility to live anywhere in the world. After more than six years directing the sales and marketing for my family's winery in Sonoma, I decided it was time to move on. Armed with an education in business and fashion design and ten years in branding, sales and marketing, I took the move to Hood River as an opportunity to start my own lifestyle brand. Focused on women’s apparel; my line, Sam Rodgers, will go to market in August 2012. We like to spend time in a variety of places, but for now, Hood River is our base. This was a distressed property that we purchased at auction. With our experience owning and managing rental properties, we knew we could create an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for visitors. Our goal was to create a home away from home for our guests. After traveling the world and experiencing all manner of accommodations, we knew our vacation rental had to give added value without added cost.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Today, the house boasts brand new kitchen appliances, new ventless hypo-allergenic HVAC, new paint, new landscaping, new fireplace and our personal touches in every room. The little things that count, such as pill-top and memory foam mattresses, plush bedding and a kitchen equipped for an almost professional chef are just some of the perks of staying with us. The house also has open-beam ceilings, custom light fixtures in almost every room and a fireplace for those cold winter nights. Sit out on the south deck and enjoy your morning coffee; dine on the north deck over looking the Columbia River and Mt. Adams. It was also important for us to provide guests with dining for the entire house; our dining room comfortable seat 10 people. Stay in for a movie night and take advantage of our media room with 70' flat screen, surround sound and an all access pass to movies and shows.
