We loved our stay at this condo! The condo was beautiful – clean and spacious- and even nicer than the pictures on the listing! Comfortable and nicely decorated. We walked in and felt right at home. The master bedroom was especially nice with lots of room and a nice big bathroom. The TVs in each bedroom came in handy so the kids could watch a movie upstairs while the adults relaxed downstairs. The lanai was very private and plenty of chairs for everyone. We also made a special request to the owner for beach towels. This was very convenient since we didn’t have to pack home wet towels. (The owners were very responsive to all our questions, by the way.) We also made good use of the laundry machine – very nice to have our own and not share with a whole building. We just packed a few laundry pods in our luggage. Another fun surprise was the selection of “beach toys” in the garage – looks like prior renters left them behind. So we didn’t need to buy any sand toys for the kids and there were even a couple of boogie boards. There is also a nice and reasonably priced (for Hawaii) grocery store about 5 minutes away in the Napili Plaza. We had most meals in the condo – the kitchen was nicely equipped. In fact, the kids didn’t want to go out to eat but wanted to just go hang out at the condo. The other reviewer mentioned chickens (they are everywhere in Maui). We just closed the windows and turned on the fans in the rooms and they didn’t bother us. The best part of the condo was the great location – literally a 2 minute walk across the street to Napili Bay. Napili Bay ended up being our favorite spot in Maui. It’s a great beach for kids. Within walking distance were Kapalua bay for fabulous snorkeling and Honokeana bay (rocky so no swimming for us but great turtle watching). Also some fun restaurants nearby – the Gazebo for breakfast (worth the wait) and Sea House (good happy hour). We didn’t golf but there are lots of courses nearby. We will definitely rent this condo again and were talking about coming back before we even got on the plane!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This condo had an excellent location but there were some surprises upon our arrival... first of all the listing does indicate a crib is available and after searching the condo there wasn't one, we contacted the management company who after a couple emails back and forth agreed to have a crib delivered, instead we received a play pen that had no mattress and was completely useless. Our family ended up having to sleep with their infant in the bed which was not ideal. If you are planning on eating in, do not plan to BBQ, the BBQ that is provided is smaller than a camp stove and uses brickettes which we had to purchase. To feed 7 people it took a LONG TIME to cook the steaks leaving the rest of the food cold. Finally on our second last day the smell of burning plastic filled the entire condo and the upper floor was filled with smoke, for which we had to call 911. They came out and dismantled the air conditioner and said the regular required maintenance had not been done in years and the the management company told us they couldn't get anyone out to do the repair until well after our stay was over. For the last two nights we had no air conditioner which, when you are traveling with an infant it makes things very uncomfortable. The last concern were the three roosters that the house behind the condos keep as pets, all of them start crowing at 4am and do not stop until well after 12 noon... this was something you just didn't get used too! Overall this was an ideal location but the listing was a little deceiving and the surprises were upsetting especially when you are paying to have a nice place to stay while on vacation you expect the amenities to be provided and the unit to be well maintained.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: Curtis and Kim are Pacific Northwest natives currently living in upcountry Maui. Curtis is a teaching artist and musician to both adults and children on island. During their afternoons and weekends they enjoy snorkeling, surfing, hiking, and eating at their favorite restaurants around the island.

A sunset cruise makes for a perfect romantic evening. If you’re curious about what goes on under the waves, snorkeling tours are a great way to view the incredible variety of life that lives under the surface of the ocean. If you don’t want to get wet, there’s even a submarine that can take you into the deep while you view its mysteries from the comfort of a warm cabin. Helicopter tours are an excellent way to take in the views of the whole island, including incredible waterfalls, sea cliffs and forest you would hard pressed to view on foot. For those looking for a little more excitement, you can take an ATV tour or check out the Zip Lines at Kapalua or the West Maui mountains.
If you have never tried 100% Maui coffee, you are in for a treat. You can even visit the Rainbow House, a model home, just up the mountain from Kahana/Kaanapali, situated among many of the small coffee plantations. Ironwood Ranch, where your family can enjoy a fun horseback ride, is only minutes away by car. Nearby Maui Brewing Company is the island's only microbrewery, and serves up good food and atmosphere, with live music and karaoke on different nights. One of our favorite places for happy hour is Sea House at Napili Bay - they have the best pupus (appetizers) on the island; a great snack at a beautiful beachside restaurant after snorkeling with turtles in Napili Bay!
