About the owner: I usually go to this family apartment to enjoy some relaxing time during my vacations, taking the time for endless walks on the jetty or the St Jean de Luz fishing harbor or going shrimp fishing from time to time on a little beach in nearby Ciboure. After an easy 12-minute drive I go enjoy my dinner in Spain before returning to St Jean de Luz for the ball on the Place Louis XIV during the weekend.
Why the Owner Chose St.-Jean-de-Luz:
the city of St Jean de Luz is a pirate city with many historical attractions, for instance the marriage of Louis XIV and the infante of Spain took place in its magnificent chapel.
The entire Pays Basque region is a perfect blend of greenery, sea, mountain and countryside, all in a relatively small perimeter.
The renowned local cuisine is a big part of the Basque culture, where succulent dishes are prepared with colorful vegetables bringing to mind the red green and white flag of the Pays Basque.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
in St Jean de Luz I can easily go to the Rhune (mountain) for a hike or a trip to the top via a small train to admire the wildlife of the Pyrenees Mountains (vulture, wild horses or Pottoks, birds…)
I can also enjoy a game of “Basque Pelote” or simply watch organized games in the summer.
For shopping I can simply cross to the Spanish side, to Ibardin or Dancharia, where ventas (shops) are strewn on the green hills.
