Step into an Oasis of style, comfort and privacy in the heart of this most charming wine country.
Perhaps the most ideal location in the Willamette Valley for couples, families and business groups visiting wine country. Inspired by award winning designer Kim Morris of Morris Design, Inc., Carlton Gates is unlike any accommodation in the area.
Featuring a spacious kitchen with large island and gas fireplace for guests to gather round that opens to the Great Room where good company continues among friends. Have an elegant dinner together in the dining room with built in buffet and then move outdoors to enjoy two patio areas each with their own firepit. Feeling contemplative?....take a stroll around the back courtyard or enjoy a bottle of wine in the corner Adirondack Settee under a Blue Spruce.
If your group wants to enjoy a movie in the theater, it will feel like their own private screening with a 70 inch screen and surround sound. When it's time for bed, you can go your separate ways into two Master Suites, Guest Bedroom and Second Guest Bedroom. Two additional guests are accommodated on a comfy pullout sofa sleeper in the theater. The Two Master Suites and First Guest Bedroom each have their own outside private sitting area with bistro table and chairs.
If you need to handle business before play, Carlton Gates accomodates business groups with the Great Room which features a 55 inch flat screen and full AV capability for Power Point presentations.

We picked Carlton Gates as a Mother's Day retreat and we were not disappointed. This house has had a complete rennovation and it is beautiful inside and well equipped. We combined eating in and eating out while we were there. We enjoyed the bikes and rode often around Carlton. Highlights: Wine tasting in the Pinot Noir region of Oregon is excellent. Each of the wineries had good wines to taste. Carlton is a small town and everyone waves to each other. Carlton is very close to McMinnville and the Air & Space museum and water park. Concerns: Each TV is its own system. There is a learning curve to work them but the theatre room is the more difficult. This should be easier to work, but was child's play for my son to figure out. Still a more simpler system would have been nice. The cooktop and coffee pot also require some figuring out. There is no instruction sheet on how to work them so trial and error seemed to work for us. For the price, a hot tub would have been a nice bonus. Lastly, wine tasting costs $10-20 for a tasting, so be prepared for that. They reimburse the tasting fee if you buy some wine. Where I live, wine tasting is free. Overall, I would recommend Carlton Gates and I would consider renting again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We just loved the home and enjoyed seeing the before and after pictures of the remodel! We had a great time riding the cruiser bikes into town and tasting wine! In the evening we played bocci ball (although I have no idea how to spell it), and sat around the fire pit! We were a bit challenged trying to figure out how to turn on the cook top, the coffee pot, and the coffee grinder.....but eventually figured it out! This house is set up for people and friends to enjoy each other! We all had a fantastic time and so appreciate the opportunity to stay in this LOVELY home in Carlton!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Carlton Gates is a nicely appointed house. For being a house in a neighborhood, the bushes and fencing make the home very private. Flat screen TV's in every room are handy, though the sound system and stove top were a bit confusing to operate. 6 bikes for riding into town for a littel wine tasting. I enjoyed the soaking tub.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Jean for the feedback. I'm always interested in ways to make my home more enjoyable. By installing "state of the art" appliances and sound system, I too took a moment to learn how this stuff works! I've sent a request to my AV person to see how the sound system may be simplified. Thanks again! Warm regards, David

We were very pleased with the home. It was even more beautiful and spacious than it looked in the pictures. One great thing was that almost every bedroom had its own bathroom. Made it very easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. We are already planning our next trip here!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Dear David, You have truly exceeded all of our expectations in your gracious home. Just when we thought we discovered everything in this home we'd open a drawer and find another comfort to make our stay even more enjoyable. From the heated bathroom floor to the surround sound to the TV's in every room, this house really has it all! We enjoyed making smores around the firepit and lounging around in the morning with a cup of coffee. We are sad to leave this oasis....but gotta go back to reality - flying out to Dubai tomorrow where we currently live. Our two families were re-united in your home after being apart for two years!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The home completely exceeded expectations! The decor was beautiful and everything was in fantastic shape.
