Bull Lake Hideaway certainly lives up to it's name!
Nestled among lush Cedars and Pines on the quiet shores of Bull Lake with amazing views of the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness, you'll find this newly renovated cozy cottage. There is 1 bedroom with a queen sized bed on the main floor and 2 twin beds upstairs in the loft. The kitchen and bath are beautifully tiled and the livingroom, dining area and both bedrooms are freshly carpeted. The new futon in the livingroom easily opens up into a full-sized bed for additional sleeping. The cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people in total. There's a gas grill under the covered patio for your enjoyment - come rain or shine! Right outside near the banks of the lake is a large stone fire pit for evening roasting and sing alongs.
The Troy, Montana area is a true recreational paradise. Hiking, cycling, swimming, fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, power boating is Montana at it's best, something for everyone. Boat ramps are located just a few miles away at Bad Medicine Campground and Dorr Skeels Campground. If your interest tends toward fishing...Bass, Sunfish, Perch, Cutthroat Trout. and Kokanee Salmon are plentiful in Bull Lake. It's also home of the Dolly Vardon (Bull Trout) which can be as large as 20 lbs. If relaxation is what you're looking for ... bring your boat and cruise down the 4.5 miles of calm waters. In July and August the water temperature rises to between 70 and 75 degrees, so don't forget all of your water toys.
Easy hiking is great for kids and seniors at Ross Creek Cedar Groves which is only a 4 mile drive away. The 100 acres of western red cedars is considered one of the 'eight must- see attractions' in Lincoln County. These cedars grow up to 12 feet in diameter and 175 feet tall. Some are as much as 500 years old. For a short hike visit the Kootenai Falls and Swinging Bridge. The Kootenai River enters the canyon and flows over Kootenai Falls, one of the largest free-flowing waterfalls in the northwest. Tons of bright green water crash over rocks as the Kootenai River loses 300 feet in elevation, while traveling less then a mile down river. This scenic attraction is not to be missed!
If you're looking for that special spot to hunt year after year... look no further. Here you'll have a lifetime experience hunting White Tail Deer, Mule Deer. Elk, Moose, Black Bear and much more. This area offers some of the finest hunting you will ever find.
With many miles of unplowed roads the Kootenai Forest offers the snowmobiler the ingredients for memorable outings. Cross-country skiing is also, fabulous with many great trails available in the area. Turner Mountain Ski area is operated by Kootenai Winter Sports, a volunteer organization that is dedicated to maintaining an affordable family skiing and snowboarding area. Quiet and perfect sized for family of 5. Fully outfitted to make value travelling economical too. Our kids loved the paddleboat and snorkeling right off the beach. The firepit was great fun too. Even had great Satellite TV and WiFi! Never missed an Olympic event clip.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

This was amazing! From the drive to the cabin, to the most gracious and interesting host Paul, we loved everything about Bull Lake and this fantastic cabin. Being comfortable is so important and everything was comfortable here. The couch, the beds, the linens, the deck chairs, the lake chairs and the paddle boat... all relaxing, sink into and feel great. The place is so magical from the mist on the lake in the morning to the excursions around the area, we had many amazing photo ops and even saw a moose! We had lunch at Little Joe's Montana and although it was slower than molasses to get the food, it was worth the wait, I highly recommend it. This is a very special place and we will be returning. Thanks Paul and Charlene for a very beautiful time and this very lovely hideaway.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

I am thrilled to write this review. We came from Seattle Wa for our vacation and were enchanted even by the drive to the cabin. What a beautiful area. Pulling into the forest the cabin was warm and inviting and so was the owner Paul. What a delightful character he is, so interesting and very thoughtful. I really enjoyed some of the times we talked. He was also very respectful of our privacy. The cabin was very comfortable, the beds, the linens, the couch, the chair, even the outside deck chairs were all amazing. COMFORT is key and this had it all. Clean, everything we needed and more. The lake water was perfect and the wildlife was enjoyable. The misty morning on the lake provided brilliant photo ops and we came home with several hundred pics. The area has great things to do and explore and do try eating at Little Joe's Montana.. don't be in a rush and the food is worth it. We even got to see a moose while we were out on a drive! Anyway, thanks to Paul and Charlene, the place is awesome and you two are great. You must stay here if you get a chance and we will be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Came all the way from Israel to relax, hike, read and enjoy the nature surrounding us. Found an amazing cabin in the woods, 12 yards from the beautiful, peaceful and undiscovered Bull Lake. The cabin is new, clean, well maintained and equiped. Paul, the cabin owner, and Charlene took care of everything we needed and are most warm and friendly! The only problem with this place is that we found it very very difficult to leave and therefore we will definitely come back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights with my daughter who had just graduated from Univ of Montana. We had a great time, the cabin was comfortable, the kitchen well supplied for cooking and comfortable for lounging around. It was very quiet and nicely set down within thirty feet from the lake. The owners live in a house in the next lot but were very considerate of our privacy and friendly. They let us borrow a canoe which my daughter and I used to fish on the lake and my wife and I to paddle around. It was a great location for relaxing and unwinding after all the graduation activities. We would recommend it to anyoneRecommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers.
