Our escape haven has an incredible balcony view of the ocean with its sugar white beach and emerald blue water. The condo is a few steps away from the beach. This end unit has more windows for additional light and multiple views. A real plus of end unit condominiums is that they are about 1' wider than interior units, so you get a little more room. And it has beautiful ocean views out 3 windows, from the patio and even from the kitchen. Also, you can see the gorgeous sunsets from all the side windows.
One unique asset is that to the right, outside the front door, is 13 miles of undeveloped beach. Our condo is in Building #2 of the EL Matador Condominium, which is an established secluded community on Okaloosa Island with a private beachside pool, a heated pool at the club house, tennis and basketball courts as well as an exercise room. El Matador is a gated community with 24 hour security. The area is very family friendly. People love the expansive beach for long walks, sunbathing and plenty of swimming. Plus, unlike most condominium locations, there is a good expanse of grassy lawns between the buildings which provides plenty of area for games or simply sitting outside and enjoying the sight and sounds of the ocean.
This unit has just been redecorated and most of the furniture and appliances are new. In addition, a brand new HVAC unit was installed in April, 2012.
This unit is located on the west end of Building 2 on the second floor. You can park right outside the exterior stair well and its just a quick climb up 1 flight of stairs to arrive at the entrance. But there are also elevators available for those times when transporting heavy luggage or other heavy/cumbersome items.
This unit is just a short walk away from the large pool and the white sands and emerald colored water that are so prevalent in this area. And the beach in this area is special because it abutts govenment owned property that is not closed to the public, so the beach just goes on and on and on.
The living room area is furnished with a sofa and 2 easy chairs. The sofa converts into a queen size sleeper . There is a 40' flat screen TV and a blu-ray DVD player. WiFi is available as well as broadband wired access.
The dining area has a large table and 6 chairs.
The kitchen is equipped with most appliances and utensils you will need to prepare meals.
The master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, night stands, dresser, and a 32' flat screen TV and a DVD player.
The second bedroom is furnished with twin beds separated by a night stand, a chest of drawers and it also has a 32' flat screen TV.
Renters must be at least 28 years old.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets nor can there be any smoking in, or around, the unit since the smoke odor tends to get embedded in fabrics and cloth.

We recently stayed at this condo and really didn't know what to expect. When we arrived, we were greeted by a security guard who gave us our parking pass. Upon entering the unit, we were pleasantly pleased at how the condo looked--exactly like the photos online. Clean, spacious and best of all on the 2nd floor. The staircase is footsteps out the door. Fabulous! Although there was no washer/dryer in the unit, it was approximately 30 feet down the hall in a nice laundry room. We loved the fact that we could enjoy all the amenities that Destin offers, and 6 minutes later arrive in a quiet, low-keyed gated condo community away from it all with direct access to beautiful beaches and extremely clean pools. Our pre-teens loved it and particularly mentioned how they were able to sleep in after a day of activities because it was so quiet. We would definitely come back here again. Fantastic room!! very modern and updated..flat screen TV's, blu ray player....the layout is very spacious. The location and access to the room are very convienant, parking is not a problem...The El Matador is very safe and clean facility....We really enjoyed our stay and were honestly a little shocked at how nice the room and the facility were for the price.....The owner was a pleasure to deal with...would definitely stay again!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a very nice time. The condo was in a great location you could see the ocean out every window and you could sit on patio and enjoy it. Very quiet, the cleanliness could be a little better, but I guess that is because I clean houses for a living too. I would highly recommend this to a family. I have 4 children and this worked out well. The owner was very friendly and quick at returning your answers. The photos are exactly what you get. Loved it and thinking about coming back around Xmas this year again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

This condo was perfect for my family of 2 adults and 2 children. There is a view of the ocean from every window and the balcony. The kitchen and common areas are very spacious and the bathroom setup was perfect (master bath had sink/dressing area separate from shower/toilet areas). We will certainly request this unit for our next vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
