North Shore Rental
North Shore Rental
We stayed at this house for about a week. There were 6 adults and 4 teenage girls. A couple of issues that visitors should be aware of, the house can get very hot in the late afternoon so you want to be careful not to cook a lot with the oven during the late afternoon between 4-7pm - we made that mistake. Also two of the bedrooms are on the front of the house on the street which is busy during the day, but pretty quiet at night. I would recommend some ear plugs for sleeping. For others who are considering this property, there are a lot of items in the pantry such as salt/pepper, oil/vinegar, coffee filters, etc. It would have helped if we had a detailed list because we spent wasted time and money at the store buying a lot of items that were already in the house. There are 2 beach umbrellas and about 3 beach chairs. Plenty of beach towels and regular towels and linens. We loved every minute at this house because it was perfect for our large group. We wanted to be in the lush North Shore with privacy and the house fit the bill. To get to swimming beaches, it's actually easier to walk down the road a bit and go down other beach accesses than the one across from the house.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Ka Wai Aloha is truly a wonderful home in the most special place on the planet. The home is clean, comfortable and spacious with large lanais off of all 5 bedrooms. Skylights over the three bathrooms let you take showers under the sky. We loved the unique décor, from the collection of sand dollars in the living room and bright red surfboard near the dining table, to the colorful paintings in the bedrooms. We spent mornings on the front porch enjoying the sounds of the ocean and evenings on the back porch watching the rare apapane birds of Kauai and seeing horses pasturing on the conservation land behind the house. Directly across from the house is a beach right of way that takes you to the most secluded part of the beach. To the right, is a fantastic spot to snorkel. To the left is the famous Tunnels Beach. We even headed back to the beach at night to lie out under the stars which were visible and bright without any nearby city lights. Ka Wai Aloha is the perfect spot for families to reconnect and unwind. We will be back.

About: Our Honolulu family has made a tradition of vacationing on the North Shore of Kauai for many, many years. Haena, with its remoteness is truly the most special place on the planet. We are so blessed to have purchased this wonderful home so we can continue our family tradition and share the aloha with others! There is something so magical about crossing the one-lane bridges and arriving at what we feel is the end of the rainbow.
This home is so large and comfortable! Everyone can spill out of their bedrooms onto the deck. The home itself is cheerful, bright, art-filled and calming. The beach (accessible by a beach access across the street) takes you to what feels like your own private beach. Because of the large back yard, the backdrop of pastureland and awe-inspiring mountains, you are surrounded by nature.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to tide pool on the reef, snorkel to the right of the reef and swim in the cove to the left of the reef. We take long walks on the beach at sunset and lie under the stars at night. My son is an avid spear fisherman, skin diver and surfer. My husband is an avid fisherman. We all love the many hikes available to us on Kauai. My daughter and I enjoy yoga in Hanalei and the two farmer's markets located nearby. Ka Wai Aloha translates to 'The Waters of Aloha'. We welcome you to our home.
