Indulge in the ultimate vacation in your own private villa nestled in the heart of wine country, a short 60-minute drive from San Francisco, 9 miles from Sonoma Plaza, near the wineries. This stylish mid-century modern home was built on a spectacular 4.5-acre setting located in the hills above the Sonoma Valley and is a Licensed Vacation Rental with the County of Sonoma. Take a dip in your private idyllic pool, like a lake amongst the trees. Hang out in the outdoor hot tub. Spend hours playing bocce, day or night, on a bocce court next to a private hobby vineyard. Test out that new recipe you have been dying to try in your own gourmet kitchen. Dine alfresco while the sunset casts a warm hue on your amazing view of the “Valley of the Moon.” On a cold night, cozy up by the warm fireplace. Take in a movie, or have a conversation, on the sophisticated and modern furnishings. End the evening with a good book in the indoor Jacuzzi-tub. This property is behind a private gate in a tranquil setting that cannot be seen from the road.
While you visit, see wine country and relax. This villa is well-located and is very convenient to Sonoma and Napa valleys. The house is about two miles from the Sonoma Highway (Hwy. 12), which is not only a beautiful drive, but it is also dotted with many wineries, such as, B.R. Cohn, Valley of the Moon, St. Francis, Arrowood, Imagery, Mayo, Wellington, Kunde, Kenwood, Ledson, and many others. A short drive or taxi ride down a scenic road are the restaurants and wine tasting rooms of the towns of Glen Ellen (~2 miles), Kenwood (~5 miles) or the Sonoma Square (~9 miles). Key towns in the Napa Valley are also close by. Yountville, with the French Laundry and Bouchon restaurants, is ~11 miles away; St. Helena, with its shops and restaurants is ~14 miles away; and Highway 29, the main road through the Napa Valley is ~8 miles away.
This villa has so many amenities to entertain you, it creates a great vacation. You will be tempted to return year after year.

Relaxing Weekend Away!
Relaxing Weekend Away!

We just returned from our long weekend at this beautiful retreat. The fireplace was, by far, our favorite part of the house! It was so warm and inviting this time of year. The views from the living room are spectacular. We felt right at home... making dinner, watching the movies (there is a great selection of movies), playing games and relaxing by the fire. We really enjoyed the hot tub! The leaves were changing for fall, and the foliage on the grape vines all over wine country was beautiful. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms even had hair dryers (we forgot ours at home) and the kitchen had everything we needed! During the day, it was just a short trip down the road to either Glen Ellen or Yountville to enjoy the local sites and wineries. The home has everything for a restful weekend away. Eric, thank you for opening up your home to us! We can’t wait to go back in the summer time and enjoy the pool!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed staying in this lovely "mountain retreat" while visiting wine country. The house is very spacious both inside and out and we especially liked the extensive outdoor seating on the deck and the hot tub underneath the beautiful trees. The views in the morning were spectacular - we felt like we were above the clouds. This house is in a great location for traveling to both Napa and Sonoma Valley and many nice parks for hiking and other outdoor activities. The owners were very helpful with restaurant and other amenity suggestions. Overall we had a great visit and would highly recommend this house for those that want to stay in the mountains but be close enough to visit wine country.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

What a lovely home in a perfect setting. We enjoyed the playing bocce ball with the kids and walking though the vineyard. The kids loved the pool and we all had a great time visiting both Napa and Sonoma wineries. The home was clean and well maintained...we look forward to our next visit.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This home is AMAZING!!! Our group of 5 (plus toddler) absolutely loved staying here. It is perfectly decorated with contemporary furnishings but still felt comfortable and warm. The gourmet kitchen was perfect for home cooked meals after a day at the wineries. We took full advantage of the jacuzzi, pool and even learned to play Bocci Ball! But the most amazing part of the home is it's location! Its to die for!!! Waking up and looking into Sonoma Valley with light cloud cover was breathtaking. It was easy access to both Sonoma and Napa Valleys 10-20 minutes away. It was Perfect all around. Thanks for letting us stay.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My family and I have recently returned from our stay in this beautiful home. The home has been recently remodeled and has everything one would need for their stay in wine country... you won't want to leave the property! Absolutely stunning views from every angle of this home, in addition to a beautiful pool and hot tub! It's only a quick drive to both Napa and Sonoma Valleys, in addition to the many quaint towns in between. Eric, the homeowner couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the area. My family and I didn't want to leave and hope to return again in the future!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This home was perfect for 3 couples looking to relax and unplug for a few days. The location was amazing - we trusted our navigation and came up the "back way" to get to the home. The road was not for the faint of heart but it was so worth it! Of course, after we got there, we realized there was a much easier way to reach our location. Just more memories made. The homeowners were wonderful to work with. They helped us with all aspects of planning our trip and we found their recommendations spot on. The hot tub and pool tucked into the trees, absolutely private and quiet, were welcome after days of touring and tasting. Can't say enough about the home, the home owners, the location.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I think I've secured my reputation as family travel agent superstar by finding this house to rent! The location is gorgeous, and owners have done a fantastic job of renovating and decorating the house and grounds. The living room has a million-dollar view but we barely spent any time in the room because the property has so many lovely spaces to relax in. We would dip in the pool and hot tub to unwind after sightseeing and then spend each evening watching the sun set and moon rise on the deck. The photos in this listing are good, but you've got to experience the house for yourself! The owners were very responsive, kind, and eager to give recommendations for things to do in the area. I would visit again in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed at this property in August with another couple and we cannot say enough good things about it!! It is a secluded paradise and the owners have thought of everything you could need! The pool and hot tub are beautiful and we had a great time playing Bocce ball overlooking our own private vineyard. It is only 8 minutes to the Sonoma side and about 15 to the Napa side. The pictures don’t do the property justice. You feel like you are in your own little slice of heaven! The owners couldn’t have been easier to work with and their recommendations for wineries and restaurants were spot on! If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy some great wine this is the house! Cheers and thanks for an amazing trip!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The view from this place is enough to take your breath away!!! I was looking for a nice getaway to celebrate my mother’s birthday and wanted something a little different. I saw the pictures on the website and thought this was the place, but seeing the view in person from the deck and watching the sunsets while dining alfresco were priceless. The home is nicely furnished and very inviting. It was a treat to swim in the pool and soak in the Jacuzzi surrounded by majestic trees. If you want to truly unplug and get away from it all, this is the place. I could not get over how serene it was. I felt as If I was in my own little forest. This was my kind of getaway and my mother and family enjoyed it. We are thinking about going back next year. BTW - I really loved the cute restaurants nearby just down the hill … not to mention a quick ride down the road and there were vineyards and wine tasting everywhere you look. I truly hated to leave when our time was up.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Sonoma:
We live in San Francisco, but fell in love with wine country. After years looking, we finally found a home on our favorite road in Sonoma, between the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. We have always been fans of Mid-Century Modern Architecture. We fell in love with this home at first sight.
We are avid users of vacation rentals, but always thought we could provide a better experience than many of the rentals we had found. We hope you love our home as much as we do!
