Location: Gaiole, Chianti Area, Tuscany, Italy, Europe (In the Heart of Chianti, Just 1 Hour from Florence!)
Accommodations: Villa, 5 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 10)
Le Miccine is a small Tuscan wine estate, owned by Americans. In addition to producing both fine wines and a range of agricultural products, Le Miccine also offers, on a limited basis, weekly vacation accommodations in the farm's original "Casa Colonica," which has been restored and renovated into a fully modern, quietly elegant residence, complete with swimming pool and gardens. Divided by floor, the residence can be used as two self-contained units or as a spacious home for a larger family or friends traveling together.
Guest Apartment: Le Miccine's lovely front terrace leads directly into the ground-floor Guest Apartment, which retains typical Tuscan wood-beamed ceilings, cotta floors, and whitewashed walls. The Guest Apartment features a spacious, tastefully furnished, living room with fireplace and a large modern kitchen with all appliances, including a dishwasher, as well as ample supplies of china and cookware. The Guest Apartment may be rented as a one-bedroom, one-bath unit, as a two-bedroom, two-bath unit, or as a three-bedroom, two-bath unit.
Owners' Apartment: An iron-gated stairway from the front terrace leads to the open air veranda of the Owners' Apartment, which overlooks the vineyards and woods of Le Miccine and the medieval Castello di Meleto beyond. The apartment includes a large living room, an equally large dining room with a massive, original Tuscan hearth, a queen-size bedroom, a second bedroom with twin beds, and two new bathrooms with large showers. The up-to-date kitchen is equipped with full-size appliances, including a dishwasher, and all required dishes and equipment.
A few steps up the hill from the house is a large, deep swimming pool and sun terrace adjacent to the beautiful old 18th century cantina where Le Miccine's wines are made. The unique design and location of the pool give the spectacular illusion of water cascading over the hillside into the horizon, where beautiful sunsets provide the perfect setting for a pre-dinner glass of wine.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1996
Americans Donna Meneghetti and Clif Weaver purchased Le Miccine in 1996. Clif was practicing law and Donna had been a university administrator. They currently reside about 5 months each year at Le Miccine.
Why the Owner Chose Gaiole
All one has to do is look out the windows across the beautiful hills of Chianti--studded with olive groves and striped with vineyards--to know why the Weavers purchased the property.
The Unique Benefits of this Villa
Getting up every morning and looking across the vines in fields in front of our house toward the Castello di Meleto perched on its hill is a truly special experience, as is ending the day with a glass of wine up at the swimming pool watching the sun sink over the the hill beyond the vines behind our house. Every day in the Chianti is special.
