Beautiful apartment. Immaculately clean on my arrival. Best possible location. Owners are fantastic. There when you need anything but never intrusive. Owners have thought of everything! Way better than a standard corporate furnished rental. Apartment is even better than in the photos. No hesitation recommending this stay and I would definitely stay here again! I travel a lot and use a lot of corporate housing so I know what I'm talking about.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We could not have been happier with our experience. The house was very clean, well furnished and the kitchen was even stocked with essentials. They even had lovely holiday decorations for a festive feel to the week. Great towels :) and firewood were provided as well. Owners were very accommodating and turned heat way up to make out newborn more comfortable at night. We hope to return next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you! Happy to accommodate your family over the holidays. Look forward to your next visit!

Lara and Tim were gracious hosts- meeting me at the door to show me all around the place. The location was perfect and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Very convenient to walking around Lake Calhoun. The view out the window was great- nice to see the sunset off the lake! The house is comfortable - quite relaxing- and I would recommed to anyone. I look forward to renting again when we have another girls weekend.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Julie! We would be happy to host you again anytime!

We stayed at James Lakeview House on a recent trip to Minneapolis for business and a wedding. What a nice place, very comfortable and close to everything! Our hosts were great! They greeted us and told us about the area and gave us a map and some very useful tips if you are not familiar to the area. You can walk anywhere in the neighborhood, it is very safe and friendly. We happened to have a nice warm fall evening and went for a stroll around the lake, how relaxing. There was a public beach nearby and it is only a few blocks from Uptown where there are many local shops and really good restaurants. There are great bike trails very close to the house. I am sure during the summer this place will book fast, but I highly recommend this as a summer vacation stay. So much to do.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments. It was a pleasure hosting you and your family of five. Between the biking trails, beach, and sailing school a block or two away--this area does feel like a summer resort! We are also looking forward to cross country skiing and ice skating on the frozen chain of lakes with cozy evenings by the fireplace once winter settles in. We look forward to hosting you again.

After a week at James Lakeview House we were totally happy with our experience. The location and ambiance as well as amenities were all as described on the website. It was especially nice to have our hosts right on site when small issues arose. They were right there to assist and were consistently accessible, pleasant and helpful from check in to check out. The neighborhood and proximity to the Lake for walks were fabulous. We would recommend the House to friends and would happily return on our next trip to Mpls.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Kathy! Glad you enjoyed your stay! The walking proximity to the Lake Calhoun and Uptown amenities make this area a favorite. We enjoy playing Host to our guests and do everything we can to help you enjoy your stay in our lovely rental home in a great neighborhood. Please stay at James Lakeview House again!

About the owner: We have done a lot of travelling throughout the US and have bicycle toured in Holland, Spain, France, Corsica and Italy. We enjoy meandering, taking roads less travelled, and the joy of discovery-- whether it is an unexpected garden, a new cafe, hearing a new band, or spotting an eagle flying over Lake Calhoun. We enjoy playing host to our guests and introducing visitors to our wonderful city of Minneapolis.
Why the Owner Chose Minneapolis:
We fell in love with this house and this wonderful area. Hard to beat the combination of natural and urban amenities of Uptown and Lake Calhoun! NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE RANKED MINNEAPOLIS 4TH in it's TOP 10 WORLDWIDE SUMMER DESTINATIONS FOR 2011, behind Patagonia and Washington's San Juan Islands! UPTOWN is a friendly urban neighborhood, lined with beautiful turn-of-the-century homes as well as a fun collection of stores and coffee shops, fancy to funky restaurants and music clubs which appeal to a wide variety of preferences and tastes.
LAKE CALHOUN provides plenty of opportunities for recreation and relaxation. In Summer there is beaching, biking, blading, walking, sailing, canoing, wind surfing, paddle boarding, and even paddle boats accessible for rent. Almost like Summer Resort Living!
Minneapolis was recently ranked the NUMBER ONE BIKE FRIENDLY CITY in the nation by Bicycle Magazine. Access to the system of local and regional bike trails is steps away with bike rental available locally during summer and bicycle rental kiosks available all over the city from April to November. Lake Calhoun features 3 miles of bike and walking trails with a great view of the Minneapolis skyline. It is part of the city’s Chain of Lakes trails and also intersects with regional/commuter biking/blading/walking trails like the Midtown Greenway Trail.
We like our big small town of Minneapolis!
