Wapiti Run Ranch is located at the base of 14,000 foot Mount Columbia near Buena Vista, Colorado. The "Ponderosa" and "Pinion" Cabins are located on this 80 acre, working ranch as guest houses and can be rented together or separately. The cabins are located in a forest of ponderosa pine with views in all directions. All but seven acres are UN-developed and great for exploring and camera-hunting the herds of deer and elk that share the land. The animals on the ranch (horses, donkeys, and dogs) beg to be petted. Guests are welcome to get involved with ranch chores.

Each cabin has a Murphy bed that conveniently and effortlessly closes to the wall when not in use. Each cabin has a shower. The Ponderosa cabin has a full-size range and refrigerator/freezer, and a double bed. The Pinion cabin has a two-burner hot plate, toaster oven, and under-counter refrigerator, and a queen bed. Both cabins have microwave ovens and coffee makers, books and puzzles.

The location is super quiet and walking distance (or three minutes drive) from a National Forest access trail that leads to the Colorado Trail. The ranch is a complete horse-training facility. Guests may bring their horses (additional stabling charge) and use the outdoor sand arenas. Your hostess, Judy, is an internationally-renowned dog behaviorist and trainer as well as riding instructor in the disciplines of jumping and dressage. She is happy to share her expertise (lessons and consultation available.)
