Can't recommend this Riad enough! The caretaker was very helpful and met us at the gates of the city and led us 5 minutes through the labyrinthine streets of Essaouira right to the door of the property. Upon entry you are taken aback by the epic height and brightness of the central light well which rises up 4 floors from the foyer. Really quite magnificent! We were greeted with mint tea and cookies on arrival and given a map of the best restaurants etc. The property is incredibly tastefully decorated and has a beautiful kitchen and nice bathrooms. The Sitting room is really cosy and lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The maid makes a lovely breakfast each morning which we had on the roof terrace which has incredible views over the whole city and you can even see the ocean. Overall it was a superb experience all around and gets my full recommendation.Owner response: So pleased that you loved the Riad so much. And very jealous that you were having breakfast on the roof terrace whilst it was snowing in the UK! Please visit again soon...

What a fab house, right in the middle of Essaouira. Decor was in keeping and we had a lovely lady pop in to give us fresh orange juice and breakfast every morning. Would definitely recommend this riad.Owner response: Thanks so much, we try to make it feel like home from home, but I think a little bit of luxury in the morning is always a good way to start the day! I am so pleased you loved the house, I hope you also loved Essaouira as much as we do. It is a special home in a really magical town.

This charming riad, conveniently located for shops restaurants or just wandering down to the port, is beautifuly decorated. The approach is a little scruffy by Western standards, but that's Morocco. The description regarding location and facilities was accurate. It is well maintained. The charming maid provided breakfast each day. It is important to find out the good restaurants: they are not expensive. I would certainly recommend the property to a friend: indeed have done so.Did you find this review helpful? We arrived to the smell of incense burning & mint tea on the stove and felt very looked after for the whole of our stay! Naima cooked us a great breakfast with fresh croissants, orange juice, tea & coffee (best of all, she whisked off our 6 month old baby so we could eat it!). The riad is beautifully furnished in a great position amongst the hustle and bustle of the medina. The terrace was a great sun trap and we enjoyed lazing up there in the afternoon. It was the perfect place to retreat to with our baby and relax in the evening (although it was holiday time and very noisy out in the street!). We had a great time, thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/2

Riad Caro is a wonderful, welcoming (and far more stylish than my) home from home in the centre of bustling Essaouira old town. The luxury of having a bed and bathroom on every floor and the highest roof terrace in town was met only by the luxury of having fresh orange juice, roses, pastries and mint tea delivered to us every morning by the completely wonderful Said who is on hand to arrange airport pick-ups, show you around town and draw extremely detailed maps. Riad Caro is a beautifully made and maintained oasis of calm and a must-visit destination in Morocco.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We were collected from the airport by the wonderful Said (who was to become our guide and mentor to all things Essaouira) and led through the windy passages of the old town just outside the centre of which is the most beautiful Riad I have ever laid eyes on. Brilliantly laid out with masses of space and natural light. A bedroom and bathroom on every floor ensuring that there were no fights over beds!! Fresh roses, fresh orange juice and fresh coffee and pastries every morning which meant it was very difficult to tear ourselves away back to dreary old blighty. Masses of exploring to do, I would recommend a trip to the local museum and buying a red leather puff like I did! Can't wait to go back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

I went to stay at Riad Caro for a week with my family and it was amazing. The owner organised a 4x4 to pick us up from the airport and take us straight there. The Riad is huge (4 floors including the roof terrace) and stylishly decorated. When we arrived we were given an introduction to the area and mint tea by the staff and a phone number of a guide in case we needed anything. The whole holiday was awesome. Essaouira is beautiful with lots to do for everyone: eating, drinking, shopping, surfing... The Riad had everything we needed with a fully stocked kitchen and a couple of nights we ate in the Riad on the roof terrace. The beds were really comfy and each floor has a bathroom and they are all styled differently. I would recommend this to everyone! It's such good value compared to a hotel. Can't wait to go back.Owner response: Thanks so your kind review. It is a great family riad. My staff are the best in Morocco - but of course I am biased. Said makes all the difference to ensure a really relaxing holiday, he's a gem. I always organise a 4 x 4 myself as I can't wait to get to Essaouira - it's a great start to a holiday to arrive in comfort!! Please visit again soon, Essaouira is lovely all year round.

Right in the centre of everything, five minutes from the beach and the ancient souks, Riad Caro is the ideal place to stay when visiting Essaouira. It is beautifully furnished and very relaxing, with the highest roof-terrace in town, perfect for sunbathing, reading or enjoying breakfast. We had SUCH a good time here.Owner response: Thanks so much! I'm pleased you had such a great time. We took a long time selecting all the furnishings - so that it feels like a lovely home, not a 'rental villa'. It's great when they are appreciated. The terrace is certainly my favourite spot in the world - especially perfect for sunbathing. Hope to see you again in Essaouira soon...
