Welcome to MALCOLM'S COVE on Cobbossee Lake in Monmouth, Maine.
Enjoy waking each morning to the soothing sounds of the loon. You can have your morning coffee on the deck as you plan your day spent on nine mile Cobbossee Lake investigating its many islands and charming lighthouse. All of this is possible as you spend your week in a post and beam, 5 room year-round home with a gorgeous view of the lake located one mile off the main road, providing safety to wander and explore the surrounding woods. This newly constructed 28x38 home assures a clean place for your family to stay.
This home includes 125' feet of shoreline frontage. The swimming area is shallow for youngsters and gradually deepens but does not exceed 5 feet. Feel free to dock your own boat here, or rent a motor boat/jet ski for the day from a nearby dealer. A 14' motorboat may be available to rent from us as well. Canoe and two kayaks included in weekly fee.
An outdoor gas grill is provided as well as a campfire area for toasting marshmallows or s'mores. The kitchen, dining area and living room are one open space with a loft above the living room. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and washer/dryer. This post and beam home is clean and cozy.
There is plenty to do away from the lake as well. We are forty-five minutes from Freeport's L.L. Bean and other brand name outlet stores. We are approximately fifty minutes from Reid State and Popham Beach parks and there are three area golf courses within three - seven miles. Three miles from us is Cumston Hall known for its Shakespearean live theater plays. We are forty-five minutes from Portland. Chances are, you will want to stay right at home and enjoy the lake.
Malcolm's Cove isn't just for summer vacationers. Come splendor in the breathtaking foliage as you cruise the lake. Seasonal residents have gone home for the winter and Lake Cobbossee quiets down making it a peaceful and tranquil spot to relax at.
For winter snowmobilers and cross-country skiiers, this cabin is ideal with many central Maine snowmobile trails in the area and nine miles of lake to ski upon. The lake is scattered with folks ice fishing and playing pickup ice hockey games. Sugarloaf Mtn. and Mt. Abram are an hour away for downhill skiing enthusiasts. Lost Valley (small mtn. for beginners) is just 30 minutes away.
