Lovely quiet escape. We hope to return soon with a bag full of groceries and several books! This sweet cabin was everything we hoped it would be....quiet, private, a great place to cook on own own, an easy escape for a dinner out, away from civilization but with all the comforts of home. The sunny deck was perfect for reading and dining. Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We thank you for staying at our cabin and were glad to share Big Sur with you. Feel free to return with lots of groceries and books.

Great cabin..well done, very pretty and quiet. Kitchen was very good. Owners very responsive when the oven pilot light needed to be relit (twice.) Very nice support. Fireplace heater and bedroom heater excellent. Nicely done. Great deck. Nearby waterfall was fabulous. Walk up the road had beautiful views. One lane road could use some kind of green light-red light signal to take any unknowns/drama out of making the short drive up to the cabin or down to Hywy 1. Being the first turn off from Hywy 1 that might be doable.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great weekend staying at this cabin. It was perfect for two people, and exactly as described, extremely clean and well-maintained. The owners were very responsive during the booking process. It was a great pleasure to meet them and we truly felt like it was a great privilege to spend the weekend in their cabin. The location is extremely convenient to all the parks and attractions in Big Sur. We highly recommend it and cannot wait to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

A couple of girlfriends and I decided to do a quick trip into Big Sur and loved this cabin! It was perfectly located in the heart of Big Sur close to everything. The place was cozy and clean and we loved the QUIET! Highly recommend for anyone travelling to Big Sur! LaVerne and her husband made the whole process quite easy as well. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We very much enjoyed our time in this cabin! It's exactly what most folks are looking for in Big Sur: great location: close to town, hikes clean well-stocked, had all necessary amenities comfortable, warm great for 2 people, good for 3 with a fairly comfortable futon that flattens out in the living room (wouldn't fit more) eco: off the grid water and electricity Also, LaVerne and Ken are very kind hosts! We'll happily plan to rent the cabin again in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I had a perfect stay in this little gem of a cabin in Big Sur. The only downside was that our vacation was too short (only 4 days and 3 nights)! LaVerne and Ken are wonderful hosts -keep out of your way but are friendly and helpful when needed - and have prepared a lovely little cottage high in the mountains. The cabin is small but perfect for two and is tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed and all the amenities you would need. The pictures of the property don't quite do it justice - you are up high in the vast mountains and can enjoy the fresh air, wildlife and clear, open sky from the deck. One thing that the property has that isn't listed here is a grill, which came in handy for the night we stayed in. Check out Nepenthe in "downtown" Big Sur for a delicious night out and great ocean views. Be sure to drive up and down the stretch of breathtaking coast between Monterey, Carmel, and the cabin and partake in the great hiking and outdoor activities that Big Sur affords. We can't wait to go back! Thank you!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were lucky to find a last minute rental for a holiday weekend and what a perfect choice!. The rental was just as described. It is easily accessed from Hwy 1 up a private paved drive. All the comforts of home with a spacious living/kitchen area. Best of all is the HUGE deck where we relaxed on lounge chairs and enjoyed the mountain air. The sky at night is especially wonderful! The cabin is situated so that you feel secluded and private, but close enough to the Big Sur area that a quick run down to the Inn or country store is easy. We loved having a home base, but could still spend the day at the state parks or a drive down to Pfeiffer Beach which are just minutes away. Because of the holiday weekend, it was hard to get into the parks unless you get in early. Pfeiffer beach cleared out late afternoon and is a nice place to see the sunset and enjoy the late afternoon sun. LaVerne and Ken were there to welcome us and just a call away if we needed them. Can't wait to come back, just to relax!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
