A perennial favorite on the Centerville House Tour, 'Centerboard' is considered by many, the jewel of the village and the envy of many a passerby.
This impeccably designed compound consists of three seperate buildings all linked by a spacious 1200+ s/f mahogany deck.
The original 1920's 'Cottage' consists of the kitchen/dining, living room, full-sized 'Toile' bedroom and twin bedroom, one full bath and one half-bath with full laundry. Multiple french doors extend living to the outdoors with comfortable seating, a large table for al fresco dining and chaises for lounging. A private outdoor shower complete the full cape cod experience.
Across the deck is the free standing screen pavilion. With thick cushioned lounge chairs and a comfy 12' built-in banquette, this is the go-to space for reading, game playing, or an afternoon nap. Finish off another perfect day with an evening fire and a glass of wine in this gorgeous stone-fireplaced room.
Linked by a catwalk, additional accommodation may be found in the newly added Boathouse. The interior space is finished in traditional beadboard and 20' high ceiling. The spacious, well appointed, queen-size bedroom includes its own seating area and kitchenette. Through the double french doors there is a private deck with its own outdoor shower. A winding stair leads up to a 2nd floor twin bunk room. The Boathouse contains its own large bath with double sinks and 6' claw-foot soaking tub. The Boathouse has a seperate stereo system and central air.
Beyond the living spaces, is a beautifully maintained yard with green open spaces for kids to play and gardens for fresh-cut flowers.
This unique property is being offered in two ways: The two-bedroom main house with full use of the deck and adjacent screen pavillion. Or for larger group, add another two bedrooms and bath in the separate Boathouse; perfect accomodation set-up for two small families.

I am a HomeAway employee that recently stayed here with some friends. I've been visiting the Cape since I was a child, and this is by far the most gorgeous house I've been to yet. Every single inch is decorated and outfitted perfectly. The bedding is beautiful and soft, the kitchen is stocked and spotless, the bathrooms are modern and have fluffy white towels, the patios are comfortable - everything is amazing. The screened in room with the fireplace was our favorite spot. We made s'mores one night and just sat around enjoying the breeze for hours The rental is within walking distance to Craigville Beach and the snack shacks, 2 general stores, and Four Seas Ice Cream (don't miss it). We couldn't have been any happier with this rental and the owner. If I could have this owner come decorate my home in Austin, I would! I wouldn't be able to think of a single negative thing to say about this place if I tried. I am in love with this home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

For me a proper home does not have to be big, but it does need to be functional, tasteful and above all, comfortable for those who use it. Centerboard was built and designed keeping these key elements in mind.
Why the Owner Chose Centerville:
This is quintessental New England from days past. Even with its prominent location and storied past, the property was neglected for many years. However, the location was perfect and once I got past the overgrown shrubery, it was love at first sight. For the past 15 years it has been my passion to restore this Cape Cod treasure; giving it a new lease on life and expanding it to create the quintessential vacation get-away.

Centerboard is within walking distance to everything the village of Centerville has to offer: Four Seas ice cream, The Penny Candy Store, Centerville library, playground and beautiful Craigville and Long beaches. Although situated on Main St., the property is tucked behind a 6' privet hedge and backs up to private conservation land. The unique location and layout of the property allows its guests a multitude of activities while offering others ample space to get away from it all.
