Leadville house description

Our beautifully decorated 3-story 5 bedroom/4 bath home offers 3 king size beds on the upper floor and 2 queen size beds on the lower floor. There are no bedrooms on the main floor. It sleeps 10 comfortably. Situated on one acre of land, our home is a quiet retreat from the hustle of most tourist destinations. During the winter, the snow blankets the house with quiet beauty, a perfect place for lighting a wood fire in the main living room. Downstairs, the kids can light their own fire (it's gas), watch their own movies (we have a complete library of videos available for use) or entertain themselves with the X-Box 360 (we have X-Box 360 Kinect/DVD games or bring your own).

Our home office is set up for high-speed internet and other office supplies for your disposal.

Our modern kitchen is equipped with granite countertops, a microwave oven, a natural gas stove and a convection oven for quick high altitude cooking. The cabinets are fully stocked with condiments and other non-perishables available for guest use. Make yourself at home.

During the summer, enjoy the fire pit in the back yard while roasting hot dogs and making s'mores. The kids will enjoy the log pole fort and swing set and slide. Oh, and don't forget that, winter or summer, cooking on the outdoor gas grill is always fun.

If you need to catch up on your laundry, feel free to use the front-load washer and dryer in the laundry room conveniently located right between the kitchen and the oversized heated garage.

Because a picture is worth a thousand words, I invite you to take a peek at our beautiful home.

The cabin is awesome. We had 12 in our group and there was plenty of room. It's very well furnished. It's close to Ski Cooper and also to town. We will defiantly be staying there again.

Our stay at this house was fantastic! It has a very cozy lodge feel, and has all the comforts of home! It is a great location in relation to town and things to do. We came for a race, brought our children, Inlaws and a few friends also stayed. There was a space for everyone, and I feel that we made some lasting memories. The scenery around there is breathtaking and we would love to go again!

This place is a true gem. More than adequately equipped for a large family or several couples on vacation. Every room is perfectly decorated. Kitchen is fully stocked. Beds are all comfortable. Great location close to town and turquoise lake. We stayed for 3 weeks and plan to return!

For the past three years a large group of friends have traveled to Colorado for a ski vacation over spring break. We stayed in a condo at Keystone the first two years. This year we opted to stay in Leadville to be closer to Ski Cooper and farther from the crowds. Lucky for us we found Cenac Cabin! As soon as we walked in it felt like a home away from home. This amazing home was spacious, comfortable, and very inviting. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed to cook and serve our meals. The living room was wonderful especially with the wood fireplace (wood included) and the large windows overlooking the beautiful property. The dining area was very comfortable and we spent every night around the table enjoying meals and playing games. All five of the bedrooms were roomy and extremely comfortable. Four bathrooms meant there was never a wait to shower! The basement was a favorite hang out for our kids (ages 5-14) with it's comfy leather sofas, Xbox, large screen TV, sound system and large assortment of games and movies. Downtown Leadville was conveniently located just a few minutes away with charming shops and restaurants along with a Safeway. Leadville has an awesome sledding hill and the cabin even had sleds we could use! We spent a week at the cabin but we all wish it could have been longer. Thank you for one of the best vacations we've ever spent with friends. We will definitely be back!!

We absolutely loved the Cenac Cabin. The house is amazing and we fit four families comfortably. The amenities are terrific and we will certainly recommend this property to others who are interested in staying in the Leadville Area. We didn't want to leave because we felt so at home in this wonderful house. The kids loved the entertainment center (Xbox, DVD, theater sound) especially after a great day of skiing and sledding. We loved the homey touches, the heated floors, the awesome kitchen--we loved it all! We will be back!

Cenac Cabin is much more than a cabin. It is warm, lovely and well-appointed. We enjoyed the setting, mountain décor and spaciousness. We stayed for five nights and did not want to leave. Friends joined us for dinner one evening and there was ample room on the main floor for sixteen adults to eat, relax and play games. The cabin contains three stories: upper with three king size bedrooms and two baths, main floor with living room, kitchen, dining, one full bath, office and utility, and lower with a separate living room, two queen size bedrooms and one bath. There were ten in our party, Mom and Dad, three family members in their seventies, and five members in their mid-twenties.

We sincerely desire that every renter will feel the same way that you and your family did when it was time to leave...no one ever really wants to leave. Blessings to your family in the coming new year!

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2006

About the owner: Hi, fellow travelers! Dwight and I have been married since 1980 and are blessed to have all 5 children and 8 grandchildren living near us in Jacksonville, Florida (that's on the Atlantic Ocean). We began taking our children skiing in the Colorado Rockies when they were very young, and eventually, we purchased a condo in Vail, Colorado. For 20 years, we made the journey to Vail with family and friends numerous times each year. Many years ago, we gave up the long lines and crowds of Vail, when we discovered Leadville and family friendly Ski Cooper. It was only a matter of time before we decided to sell our Vail condo and purchase a 'real' house in Leadville. When we found this house, I fell in love with it. We sold our condo in one day and purchased this home in 2006. Since then, it's been a joy to decorate it to make it so unlike Florida and so much Colorado mountain country!

                  Why the Owner Chose Leadville:
When we purchased our home, we were looking for something that would accommodate our large and growing family. With 4 adult married children and grandchildren, we needed a place where couples could find privacy and children could play and make all the noise they wanted to. It was love at first sight. We also wanted a garage that would hold our two vehicles (one is kept in Denver while we are away). Our garage is heated, so you never have to make a treck outside in the snow just to get into your car.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The two living areas offer privacy for adult couples or for large families to enjoy each other. Our home is close to town and convenient for running out for groceries and other necessities; yet, it's location sets the ambiance of mountain living at its best. It is not uncommon to see deer feeding in the back yard during the summer or foxes darting across the road. Drive down the road a piece, and you may see herds of big horn sheep, antelope, elk, white tail deer and mule deer grazing in the meadows. You might even see a porcupine climb a tree or a moose grazing on the shore of a lake. There is so much to see and do here: downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, ice skating, sledding, tubing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling in the winter. Don't forget the Crystal Carnival in Leadville, where you can watch the skijoring and dog sled races! During the summer months, take the Leadville train up the mountain, conquer the biking trail, hike to the summit of Mt. Elbert or Mt. Massive, go on a back country trail ride by horse, jeep or ATV (4-wheeler), go white water rafting, or explore the mines of Leadville, the famous Tabor Opera House, the Colorado Mining Museum, and other deserted mining towns like Tin Cup and St. Elmo. Try out the heated swimming pools and hot springs at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort. So much to do and so little time. You can always make the incredibly beautiful drive to Vail, if you still have time. Don't forget Boom Days, where you can enjoy the famous burro races and parade down the center of town in your own turn-of-the-century costume. Leadville in summer is paradise.
