The house was excellentlly prepared and presented. The owner was more than generous with helping on some "special" requests for our stay, and the lake was just awesome.

Family Fun on Lake Kusel
Family Fun on Lake Kusel
The owner Kirk was very easy to deal with and answered all questions promptly. He was there when our family arrived and showed us around. He has a wonderful home which was clean and just as stated on the website - no surprises. We had fifteen people staying and one dog and our ages ranged from 12 to 91. There were probably a few too many stairs for my 91 year old father-in-law but he did manage them fine and for most people it would be fine. We needed a few air mattresses to sleep everyone and we put them in the larger bedrooms which had plenty of room. We could have put some kids on the futon in the family room, but they preferred the privacy. We spent most of our time on the lake, renting a jet ski, tubing, canoeing (the kids really enjoyed the canoe), and they also used the paddleboat. The water was warm and it has a nice sandy bottom. It is shallow for quite a while so it would be good for young kids. We enjoyed the firepit every night and there was plenty of firewood. The only disappointment might have been when the kids realized there was no cable service and they couldn't see what was happening during the Olympics. We did however watch a movie or two and played lots of board games. We would considered coming back again. We had a great time.

We stayed with another family for a relaxing weekend. This is a lovely lakefront property! We enjoyed time on the deck and spent our days swimming, fishing and paddling around the lake. The home is well cared for and clean. Everyone remarked about the great cold drinking water from the tap. The homeowner is kind, helpful and professional. We appreciated prompt return of our deposit.

Perfect Family Getaway!
Perfect Family Getaway!
My family and I stayed in this home over the July 4 holiday week and had a wonderful time! We had a party of 6 adults and 5 kids, all 5 and under. The highlight of the property is definitely the quality of the waterfront area. There is a sandy beach perfect for kids and a gentle slope into the water with no weeds and a sandy bottom in the swimming area. The water temperature was amazing (I am a wimp in cold water) and all the kids, including the 2 infants, were comfortable in the water from day one. The owner provided a paddleboat, canoe, noodles, lounge floats, life jackets, and a tube that we pulled behind our rented pontoon (as an aside, rented from Mark's Quality Marine, which we cannot recommend as the boat did not start easily on most occasions). The lake is no-wake from 5 pm to 10 am, which we enjoyed since it allowed for quiet sunset canoe and paddleboat rides. There was a nice yard with a fire pit off the lower level of the house that led to the stairs down to the beach. We ate most of our meals outside on the upper deck and/or lower patio. The house itself was very clean, well-maintained, and well equipped. We found any and all kitchen utensils and appliances we needed and made use of the grill several times as well. The lower level kitchenette with full fridge was great for keeping our drinks cold and accessible. The owner also had 2 pack and plays and a high chair that we used. We didn't see much of the area or go out to eat, but we did find that it was only a 4 minute paddleboat ride across the lake to a restaurant and bar--perfect for pizza the first night when we hadn't made it to the grocery store yet! The descriptions and photos of the home and its amenities from the website were all accurate. The owner met us there to show us around the first day and was very helpful with suggestions for local businesses, etc. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful family getaway!
