Although located in the city's premier National Historic Preservation District, this 1908 Arts & Crafts style has just been fully remodeled as of May 1, 2012. All new central heat and air, refinished hardwood floors, high quality beds, luxury linens and six flat screen televisions to keep you comfortable and entertained. Cable and Wifi are included as well.
Original woodwork, details and period appropriate fixtures maintain the home turn of the century style. A spacious deck with grill, table and benches adds outdoor lounging space.
The location is second to none, with all of the city's best located close by-- Walk less than a block to Cherokee Park, a 400 acre urban oasis of walking trails, playgrounds, running loop, golf course, fountains and ball fields. From May to September, enjoy the free summer concerts each Sunday night in Willow Park (a small park at the front of the larger Cherokee Park). Or, walk in the other direction, less than a block, to shopping boutiques, coffee shops, great restaurants and, just a block further on, a full grocery, dry cleaner and movie theater. Churchill Downs is 4 miles away, downtown is 2 miles and the airport is 5 miles.
Built in 1908, the home is a classic brick four square- The first floor has a large living room with sleeper sofa, a dining room (open to the kitchen), a kitchen with island seating for 4 and a full bathroom and access to the 350 sq. ft. deck.
The second floor has three queen bedrooms, a small den with a sleeper sofa and two full baths. The third floor has a king master suite with an open plan bath (walk in shower for 2, claw foot tub and separate toilet closet).
Every bedroom has a wall mounted flat screen television, as do the living room and den. Wifi is available throughout the home. Beds are made up with 400 thread count cotton sheets and four top quality hypo allergenic pillows.
The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, glassware and cutlery for 12 as well as pots, pans, utensils and small appliances. A corian topped island seats four.

This house was really comfortable for us and was perfectly located. We walked to several good restaurants and really enjoyed Cherokee Park. The house was a great match for us - really well appointed. Also liked hanging out on the deck in back. Overall a great experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed in this house while in Louisville for a family event and were very, very happy with the experience. The house is located within 1 block of Cherokee park (huge park for running, walking, playgrounds, trails, etc. - worked for our whole family) in one direction and 1 block of a street with many restaurants, coffee shops, and stores the other way. The house itself was very comfortable (especially the bedding - wife a stickler for sheets and she was pleased). We enjoyed the deck in back and were happy to have off street parking. The owner was very professional to deal with. Will absolutely stay here again. An outstanding experience and value.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Myself and five friends met up for a weekend in Louisville and this house was perfect. Plenty of rooms and space in the house; nice backyard deck and nice front porch. Walking distance to a large number of restaurants and bars on Bardstown Rd. The owner was accessible and easy to work with. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We used this home for my self, my wife, my two adult children, daughter in law, as well as nephew and his wife. We were in town for the Ironman competition and so the weeks stay which spanned the weekend of the Ironman event was just right. Great home, very hospitable and welcoming. Great, very quiet neighborhood -- and in a wonderful part of town. We weren't all that familiar with downtown Louisville, and so we feel fortunate to have found this location. Just off of Bardstown Road. Bardston is a wonderful, lively stretch. Coffee houses and restaurants galore. Also, the home is a short walk to a very green and hilly park. Great for strolling with a morning coffee in hand. Finally -- just a few minutes drive from the center of the city, not to mention only ten minutes to the airport. Couldn't have been happier with this home. As for the house itself - it's an older home, but well maintained and very clean. Comfortable furnishings. The morning sun pours in to the dining room -- so it's very bright and pleasant. We found ourselves sitting on the front porch a couple of evenings as it cooled off. That was an unexpected treat as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My group was the first to stay at this property after going through an extensive renovation. The renovation was completed just in time for our visit, and we could not have been more pleased with the property, location and gracious property owner. Having never been to the Bardstown Road part of Louisville, we quickly discovered this property is perfectly situated within walking distance to many great restaurants. This house is perfect choice for those looking for comfortable yet hip living arrangements in Louisville for a large group. Every person in my party was thrilled with the house making my life as the organizer much easier.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: In November 2011 I purchased this property because of it's outstanding location and 'good bones'. After an extensive remodel, it is ready to keep you in comfort and style for the duration of your Louisville visit. After many years in the hospitality industry, I know what makes guests comfortable and what amenities are most appreciated.
Why the Owner Chose Louisville:
Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby, of course, but it also has one of the nation's finest park systems, great live theater, huge arts festivals and (mostly) lovely weather. The Cherokee Triangle neighborhood is a vibrant, upscale but eclectic zone flanked by gorgeous parks on one side and nightlife, shopping and restaurants on the other-- I have lived in the area for 15 years and would not consider a move to any other Louisville location!
