Guest Reviews From Pineapple House Website
Lisa and Rey said on Aug 7, 2012 0:41 AM We stayed at the Pineapple House this weekend for our family vacation. We absolutely loved it. We had 9 people in our party and we were all very comfortable. We will definitely be staying again hopefully sooner then later! Mary Lamar said on Jul 10, 2012 6:35 PM I stayed in the Charlotte Room at the Pineapple House in early June. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the beds are marvelously comfy and "things to do" in Aransas Pass/Port Aransas information easy to come by. The management was very accomodating (my arrival time was LATE!) The landscaping is a work-in-progress but the rest of the experience was delightful! We will definately stay again! Mike & Evelyn said on Jul 10, 2012 5:29 PM We enjoyed our stay at the Pineapple House; loved the backyard! Beautiful trees.

Why the Owner Chose Aransas Pass:
Pineapple ~ Symbol of Hospitality American colonists began importing the pineapple from the Caribbean in the 17th century. Due to its seemingly exotic qualities and rareness, the pineapple soon became a symbol of hospitality in early America. Because trade routes between America and Caribbean islands were often slow and perilous, it was considered a significant achievement for a host to procure a ripe pineapple for guests. Similarly, some accounts tell of New England sea captains who, upon returning from trade routes in the Caribbean or Pacific, would place a pineapple outside their homes as a symbol of a safe return. Due to its association with warmth and friendliness, pineapples in America were often used as the “crowning” piece in large displays of food. Similarly, the pineapple symbol was used frequently in the 18th and 19th centuries to decorate bed posts, tablecloths, napkins—anything associated with welcoming guests. Today, the pineapple remains a fitting symbol for hospitality, and pineapple-themed products still abound. From lamps to candle holders to salt and pepper shakers and beyond, the pineapple motif says 'Welcome!'
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Pineapple House is not just a place to hang your hat or rest your weary bones. It is the epitome of South Texas charm and hospitality. Gracefull old oaks adorn and surround the home and sweet aromatic flowers lull you into relaxation. Watch the birds and squirrles through the windows of the cheery sunroom. Listen to the wildlife chatter as you enjoy your coffee on the patio while the morning sun streams through the trees. Snuggle up and read a good book in the paperback library. Sip cold iced tea in the afternoon, or the indulge in penultimate afternoon nap. Pineapple House is your vacation dream home.
