Our stay at Carpe Diem surpassed our expectations. Vanessa and Bobby are a pleasure to deal with. The condominium is beautifully decorated with superior finishes throughout. The on site pool area is a comfortable relaxing oasis and beautiful Grace Bay beach is a short walk away. The Gourmet IGA grocery store is a short pleasant walk away. Don't be frightened by island prices; we were able to prepare breakfast everyday with an assortment of fresh fruit, pastries, oatmeal or eggs and toast, we cooked lunch 4 days out of seven and enjoyed the BBQ on the lanai. We also enjoyed some lunch beachside at Ocean Club Resort on other days. Dinner at Caicos Cafe was delicious as always but there are many new restaurants to try in the neighbourhood. For seven glorious days we enjoyed our breakfast poolside followed by a two hour walk along the beach towards Beaches resort one day and in the leeward direction the next. Clear blue water and white sand as far as the eye can see. A marvelous beach for walking and swimming. All in all a very relaxing and laid back spot to enjoy.Recommended for: Age 55+.

The condo was beautiful and everything I expected. Vanessa was extremely helpful with information for us as this was our first adventure to Turks and Caicos. Everything in the condo was top of the line and it was extremely comfortable. We loved the pool as well and swam in it every day. We loved not being directly on the beach and the location was perfect for shopping for all of our various needs. We definitely would rent from Vanessa and Bobby again. Thank you for helping us make our vacation so delightful.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

When deciding our stay in Turks & Caicos, we wanted a 1 bedroom condo with kitchen facilities. This fits our needs and we were very pleased with our choice. The unit is on the ground floor, so no carrying luggage or bags up stairs . Unit is keypad locked which helps when going out and being afraid of losing the keys. Very spacious and decorated modern and clean. Dishwasher, washer & dryer, free wifi, huge flatscreen tv. There was a screened porch you could open up to the living room. The entire time we stayed, we were the only ones using the swimming pool. The unit is in the heart of the Grace Bay area and the beach / supermarket was easily within walking distance. The best review I always give any location/activity is "Would you come here again?" YESRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

If you find yourself vacationing on Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands, a stay at Carpe Diem (translation: "Sieze The Day!") is a must! This tastefully decorated 1 bedroom villa apartment is conveniently located in Grace Bay, the most prestigous area on Provo. The gated apartment complex is beautifully decorated with everything you will need (and more) to make you feel right at home. The furnishings were carefully selected by the owners and special touches thoughout such as granite countertops and wonderful accent lighting. For a short-term rental property, the kitchen at Carpe Diem is by far one of the best stocked that I have ever seen. My husband and I love to cook and this kitchen has it all!! There is a gas BBQ grill, beach chairs and umbrella, a cooler and even freezer packs for it. The pool is lovely and was never crowded as we were the only ones using it after a full day at the beach or sightseeing around the island. The owners, Vanessa Bobby were great to work with from my initial contact all the way down to this review. You won't get better value for your money than Carpe Diem on Provo. While the island is quite expensive for dining out and even for purchasing your own food at the Graceway Gourmet, Carpe Diem made us happy that we chose it for our accommodation in Grace Bay. The biggest "small" bonus was the coded door key for entry meaning that there was no key to keep up with during our stay!! Everything that you need, you will find there! Thanks Bobby and Vanessa for sharing your lovely home away from home with us!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Thanks Vanessa and Bobby for a wonderful 10 days in your lovely condo. Your property manager Gail was there to greet us and was available to answer any questions about the island etc. The condo was very private and spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped and the location was great. We walked to dinner in the evenings and enjoyed shopping at the Salt Mills plaza directly across the street. We had a great time checking out the various beaches you recommended. The beach chairs and umbrella were a bonus on our adventures.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Very nice condo -- would be nice to have a Carpe Diem sign out front! Clean and comfortable -- good location --easy walk to beach, groceries, bike rental etc. Pool was nice and quiet surroundings. BBQ was awesome! One suggestion -2 chairs in the screened in area would be nicer! Owner supplied great information package prior to going that was very helpful.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hi there Bob, due your request and we have come back to the island, we have replaced the single large wicker chair with two comfortable zero gravity chairs. Since that, we have spent more time in the porch just relaxing, reading and playing cards. We look forward to having you back and you can enjoy the chairs for yourselves. Thank you for your feedback!

We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of February. The owner, Vanessa, was fantastic with prompt and informative responses to any and all questions. The condo is better than the pictures or descriptions. My girlfriend and I stayed in the 1 BR condo and it was just around the block to the beach. The area is literally in the middle of the action, and in the middle of the shopping district. When you walk the 2 minutes to the beach, you can walk in either direction and hit all the major resorts. Vanessa provides all you need, including 2 beach chairs and an umbrella! All you need is food and toiletries. The bed is very comfortable, the space is great, the air conditioners work great. The outdoor screened in porch is great for a morning coffee or evening cocktail. The only thing missing is a view, but the best view is only 2 minutes walking. This condo, in any of the resorts, would go for triple the price. Save yourself the money and enjoy what TCI has to offer.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Our stay at the Carpe Diem was wonderful. We left the frigid northeast dodging a pending snow storm to arrive later that day in tropical paradise. What a great escape. The home was very clean and nicely decorated with a comfortable layout; the pictures are quite accurate. This home has everything you would want when planning a relaxing break from the "normal" life while giving you the flexibility to explore on your own, eat what/ where you'd like and do what you want... The grounds are meticulously maintained and clean. An almost private in-ground swimming pool is available with dining seating around if you'd prefer to relax or eat outdoors. Vanessa was so kind to provide us with details on the beaches, dining and activities as well as great directions of how to get there prior to our arrival. The beaches were to die for- Crystal blue water everywhere- we rented a car for the week and explored as far as we could. Taylor Bay, Sapodilla Bay, Chalk Sound, Long Bay Beach in addition to our beach on Grace Bay. The island struck us as being super safe with very friendly locals. We took the ferry to North Caicos, rented a car there for the day and explored some more. The sleepy islands of North and Middle Caicos have much to offer and experience. As usual the beaches there were just as beautiful. On one of the few nights we chose to eat out we found a hidden gem off of South Dock right on the water- Boogaloos Restaurant- although they had a limited menu what they prepared was fabulous. Before we dined, we drove in earlier that day to check the place out and see if we really wanted to go there for dinner. With boats docked onto the beach, the fish for the days menu was being brought in by the fisherman. Fresh red snapper and grouper by the masses. Also the conch fishermen were preparing the conch for the evening. Can't get any fresher than that. We enjoyed it so much we returned on the last evening of our trip for our dinner send off. Thank you Vanessa and Bobby for opening your lovely home to us!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed at Carpe Diem for one week in January. It was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and so we wanted it to be special. We researched where we wanted to go from Hawaii to Mexico to the Caribbean and couldn't decide where we wanted to go and then we heard about Turks & Caicos. It sounded ideal as we just wanted to find a beach to hang out at, do some snorkeling and then find some good places to eat. We then had to figure out where we wanted to stay. We researched that too from all-inclusive resorts to hotels and condos and just about came to the conclusion that we couldn't afford to come until we found this place. The price was very reasonable and much less than other places to stay on the island. We booked it and to tell you the truth, I just wanted a place where I could sleep and then explore the island during the day. I wasn't really concerned with the amenities that were offered. Then we walked in!!! It was above and beyond what I was expecting! Everything is completely updated and decorated with the style of the island. There are big bamboo poles in the corner of the rooms, sea fan displays, marble countertops, dishwasher, refrigerator, safe, tv's in the main room and bedroom. The bed is incredibly soft and comfortable. I would have to say that my favorite part of the condo was the screened in porch! I loved going out there in the morning in the perfect weather with a glass of orange juice and a book. There is a palm tree with coconuts on it about 5 feet from the door. That was my version of paradise! Shopping is right across the street, the beach is a leisurely 5 minute walk away and you can walk up and down the beach for miles in either direction. We love to snorkel and so Smith's Reef was our favorite place for that, but Taylor bay was the most peaceful beach we went to and we would highly recommend it. As we would pack up for the beach, the condo had everything we needed from a cooler with ice packs in the freezer to a beach umbrella to 2 incredible beach chairs that have pockets and a cooler in them along with straps that allow you to carry them on your back. We had a chance to meet the owners and they were very kind and gracious and seemed like the kind of people that we would like to hang out with and could wholeheartedly trust. I know I have forgotten some things, but I couldn't recommend a place to stay anymore than Carpe Diem. You won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We just spent a week in Carpe Diem and loved every minute of it. The beaches are spectacular. The weather is perfect. The people are friendly. The condo is spacious, well equipped, and beautiful. It is located in the heart of Grace Bay a few minutes walk to the beach. The condo building is gated and has its own pool, which we had virtually to ourselves the entire length of our stay. The condo is exactly how it looks in the pictures. The King bed is very comfortable. We also loved the lounge chair in the screened in porch which was perfect for quiet reading time. We had all the comforts of home at Carpe Diem. The owners, Bobby and Vanessa had prepared maps of various sights and made recommendations for restaurants and outings. We were met by the property manager who showed us where everything was and who was available by phone if we needed her. We did not rent a car until the very last day and did not miss it. We walked on the beach every day and chose different restaurants either in the village where the condo is located or along the beach. The gourmet grocery store is a 10 minute walk away and it has everything you could think of. We rented bicycles for 24 hours (right next to the condo) and biked toward Leeward one day and toward Turtle Cove the next morning, getting a very good feel for the island. Everything is easily accessible on foot so we did not feel the need to have a car every day. We rented a car the day before we were scheduled to leave and toured the entire length of the island stopping at one of the very high end luxury resorts for drinks and to watch the sunset. At Carpe Diem, we felt as if we had everything that the luxury resorts had to offer plus the freedom to choose a different place to eat each night. Many of the resorts offer spa services and almost all are open to non guests. There is a lovely coffee shop next to the condo for capuccinos and machiatos! Be sure to look closely at the artwork the barista makes on each cup! The sushi restaurant across the street is amazing. If you feel lonely on your beach walks you can always take a Pot Cake for a walk ( a breed of island dog) from the Rescue Centre in the mall! Carpe Diem is a fantastic place and we are already planning the next trip which will definitely be longer.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: We have travelled extensively around the world, from Europe, to Australia, Fiji, Hawaii and many of the Caribbean islands. When we landed in Turks and Caicos in April of 2012, we fell in love with the breath taking white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and the friendly, english speaking people of the island. With Turks' close proximity to Toronto, we instinctively knew this needed to be our home away from home and was where we were going to buy our first vacation rental. Turks & Caicos provides us with a place that is safe, accessible and has fantastic weather even during our winter months.
Why the Owner Chose Grace Bay:
Travelling as much as we have, we know what is important to us in having a great vacation experience. Reasonably priced, spacious and updated living quarters with a well equipped kitchen and a quiet comfortable place to rest your head at night are essential in what we look for in a place to stay. Affordable, quality food and water are also important in having a healthy experience. Being within walking/biking distance to a community or the ability to get out and explore the area by other means is important to understanding and appreciating what the area has to offer.
We originally thought that we wanted a condo right on the beach. Well, after spending a week in Grace Bay, we found ourselves meandering up and down the beach and enjoying the different areas of Grace Bay itself. We spent a lot of time walking along the beautiful store fronts along Grace Bay Road to either go to the grocery store, or just to grab an ice cream cone. During our stay in Provo we also frequented great areas such as Taylor Bay, Sapodilla Bay and Long Bay Beach to watch the kite boarders. We found that the Carpe Diem condo is ideally located in a quiet, peaceful & central location, away from the busy condo resorts but close enough to everything that you need. If you want to experience the likes of a busy condo resort, you can easily walk to any of them and spend some time there, grab a drink or a bite to eat.
When you consider the space and decor, and its proximity to all the amenities, this condo is an affordable and fantastic home base to enjoy your time in Providenciales. Why pay the high prices to stay at an overpriced condo resort when the white sandy beaches and turquoise water is just steps away. The pool is private and quiet; a place to relax or cool off.
Overall, it was all these reasons that we chose to purchase this condo. Nestled near the end of the shops on Grace Bay Road and across from the Salt Mills Plaza, it is truly an ideal location.
