About the owner: My family has owned the 11 acre property since 1944. We spent every summer here growing up, hiking in the mountains and swimming in the local quarries, picking apples up the road in the fall, perusing the local antique stores. Several generations have enjoyed the beauty of the stunning autumn foliage, vigorous spring and lazy summers. Last year we decided to build a new year-round house with the modern conveniences to continue our tradition.
Why the Owner Chose Dorset: This location is a perfect combination of meadow, lawn and forest. The house is set back from the road to offer privacy and serenity. It is less than a mile from the Summer Festival Horse Show and within 30 minutes of 5 Golf Courses and 2 miles from Emerald Lake State Park. It is close to VT Rte 7 providing easy access to Manchester, 6 miles away, or Bennington or Rutland, both about 22 miles away.
