We spent the month of September in this lovely, comfortable condo. The area is spectacular, especially in the fall with the leaves changing color and the cool, clean New England air. The condo is beautifully decorated and very well laid out. The beds are extremely comfortable and each bedroom has ample closet space. The bathrooms and kitchen are clean and well maintained. There is a downstairs bedroom-family room suite that’s great for kids. The owner has provided many extra amenities from beach towels and lawn chairs to a Keurig individual-cup coffee maker (if you’ve never used one of these before you’ll become addicted!). The condo has cable TV and high-speed Internet (important for us as it allowed us to run our business while enjoying the serenity of New England). The area surrounding the unit is peaceful and quiet. The town of Quechee is small, but charming. Hot air balloons take off on a regular basis from the village green. There are great hiking trails and ski facilities close by. The town has several high-end restaurants, but also a good, inexpensive family-run restaurant (Sheppard’s Pie) that serves fresh, healthy food that you can eat there or take home. The Quechee Lakes Clubhouse also has very good food at reasonable prices. The town of Woodstock is about twenty minutes away with more restaurant choices and fun shopping. Also, about twenty minutes away is King Arthur’s Flour in Norwich, VT. The facility includes a cafe, cooking school and kitchen store – very fun if you’re into baking! This condo is a great alternative to a hotel room if you are a skier, traveling with kids, or attending an event at nearby Dartmouth College. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back again soon.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Kathy and her family were wonderful guests! We hope to have them stay with us again! -Carl & Sara (Nahant MA)

Our experience at this condo was completely positive. Although we were there under less than ideal circumstances (my brother-in-law hospitalized at Dartmouth-Hitchcock) we still managed to enjoy the serenity and autumn beauty of the area. Condo was lovely, immaculate, and equipped with everything one might need. Made two wonderful dinners with the slow-cooker provided! The owner was more than pleasant and accommodating. We would rent again, no question. The area itself has much to offer, from restaurants to shopping to observing nature's wonders.....altogether, an excellent vacation choice.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We came to Quechee for a wedding and decided to extend our visit to have a little family vacation. This was the perfect condo to do just that. We have a 3 year old and a 6 month old and wanted a place we could call home and feel comfortable in. We brought a cooler and a big bag of food with the intention of eating most if not all of our meals in the condo. Our 3year old chose to sleep downstairs in the bunk room and it was either the lack of windows or the Vermont air, but our usually early riser (6am) slept until 7:30 most mornings! Thursday we spent most of the day at Lake Pinneo swimming and hanging on the playground. Friday we road tripped to the Woodstock Farmers Market and Hanover, NH, and Saturday morning we went to Sugarbush Farm - they have the best cheese! And thankfully, the rain held off for the wedding on Saturday night at the Quechee Inn. It is true that the condo is a little secluded from 'downtown' Quechee, but it was a short 10 minute drive down the hill. The only down fall is there isn't a grocery or country store close by. This would be true if you stayed closer to the Quechee Country Club, so it didn't make a huge difference. If you do plan to eat most of your meals in the condo just be prepared to either bring food, stop on your way in, or take the better part of a morning or afternoon shopping. That aside, the condo provided everything we needed to prepare our meals, has very comfortable beds and even beach chairs to bring to lake pinneo! We hope to make this trip an annual one for our family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Sight unseen, I rented the condo for the approximately 6 weeks during the time my teenagers would be occupied at various camps in the area. However, once arriving and seeing how isolated and deserted the place actually was, made the decision to leave early. The owners description, "BEAUTIFUL SECLUDED SANCTUARY TUCKED AWAY IN THE MOUNTAIN," should be bolded and underlined!!!! The condo is located 1.5 miles up the mountain along a winding road ~ at night, it is very dark. While the beautiful Quechee Club is located at the bottom and is easily accessible, the town and Firestone's Restaurant are a bit further. Additionally, the market and other restaurants located in Woodstock and other surrounding towns are at a minimum 20 minutes away. It's not all bad, the decor of the condo is lovely and the kitchen is stocked with every amenity you may need. It was clean and relatively well maintained. My true disappointment is that the owner, knowing I was traveling as a single parent and would be staying alone misrepresented the condo's seclusion and how deserted it truly was. He described it as "quiet, " not desolate, which it is!!! Had the owner been more upfront, I would probably have chosen another place to rent versus getting there and realizing it was not going to work out and losing money as a result. The owner even admitted that his children do not like being there alone ~ only this was after the fact, after I decided not to stay. The owner did refund my security deposit and did not charge me for the cleaning or charge me for the electric which he claims was excessive for one week ~ when in that week, I left the property for 2.5 days as I traveled to MA. You be the judge. It should be noted that the owner did not offer to refund any of the rental fee for the time it was not occupied ~ the remaining five weeks and took no ownership for his misrepresentation. One camp, on the other hand, was generous enough to refund the additional weeks tuition, since my child was not not returning due to the rental mishap. If you are looking to escape reality and don't mind seclusion; rent!!! If you are traveling alone or with small children; are elderly, don't have a car, have disabilities...don't rent!!! You could bump your head and not be found until ski season. Even one of the camp counselors acknowledged how deserted the Kingswood condo is...and he's a grown man. The place is truly RURAL!!!!Owner response: Dear Amy I am quite sorry that the Townhome did not work out for you. My wife and I do are very best to provide our guests with every amenity and information possible to have a nice stay. I am not quite sure I would describe the unit as Rural as it is in a complex of 300 townhomes but yes in the summer it is quiet, I believe I offered to introduce you to some neighbors whom I know are year round home owners but it seemed your mind was made up , as you declined, this Idea. I did refund part of the costs to you; and worked extremely hard to rent it for you to find a replacement but with such a short time frame we were not successful Best regards, I hope your future vacations are filled with Joy Carl

Feed-back on your condo is all positive. The furnishings were nicer than many condo’s in rental programs. It was very clean and everything we needed was there. At night, when sleeping, it was the quietest place we have had in a very long time. The large number of channels available on the TV was appreciated and the heating systems were very effective. We also enjoyed using the Quechee Club Dining Room. We had two meals at Simon Pearce which were nice and we really enjoyed one meal at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms. Sorry I did not get a chance to use the tennis courts. They look to be in very good condition. We enjoyed using your condo…. We had a restful and most enjoyable stay at this beautiful get-away home. The owners really made this a comfortable home with all the modern amenities, from the linens to the kitchenware. It was very clean with spacious living areas, especially for the kids downstairs, where they had their own bunk-beds and play area which they really enjoyed. The owners were especially thoughtful with providing games, toys and movies for the little ones too. This is truly an escape from the bigger cities, but plenty to do within a few miles of Quechee, whether it be hiking, golfing, or eating at all the wonderful restaurants in the area. This home has been a delight for us all and made for a memorable stay in the Quechee area very special. Looking forward to coming back soon.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We rented this unit for a long weekend ski getaway with one other couple and our two young children. The place was great. The unit was very clean and well stocked with towels, sheets, etc. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to make a couple of nice big meals. For a family with young children, the layout was perfect. Our two kids took over the downstairs area and it could have easily accommodated two or three more easily and comfortably. The adults stayed upstairs in very comfortable beds. The living room was very conducive to relaxing, watching movies, and reading. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. He went out of his way to mail us information about Quechee and he spent time with us on the phone to go over directions and give us tips to make the most of our stay. Quechee itself is a fun area. The ski mountain is good for beginners and young children. You can go tubing nearby too. For more serious skiing, try Okemo or Killington. The dining options are a little limited right in Quechee, but for a good burger and pizza, try Fire Stones. The town of Woodstock is close and Simon Pearce is worth a visit too. All in all, this condo is a great place to stay if you are heading up to Quechee, VT. We hope to visit again in the summer.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.
