Beaches are probably the No.1 attraction, with the turquoise blue to bright green waters of the Gulf of Mexico lapping at the silky, white sands and seashells – for the collector in everyone. Called the “world’s safest beach”, it’s an ideal site for family vacations, for there are no steep drop-offs, riptides or undertows. Everywhere you go, wildlife is abundant. Shore birds such as egrets, pelicans, spoonbills, seagulls and herons are found near every body of water, from the gulf to the back bay. Sometimes, even the bald eagle can be spotted soaring over our islands. Fishing and boating are popular pastimes for residents and visitors alike – there are even restaurants you can get to by boat for lunch on (or near) the high seas. Yes,

Owner's Map of The Shores of Fort Myers Beach
One of Don's favorite pictures, just relaxing by the beach during the Christmas season with a cold drink and nice warm ocean breezes from the ocean just a few feet away. We bought this condo mainly because of the awesome views of the ocean and the wonderful sunsets, dolphins, and the nice sandy beach. We enjoy the lanai facing the beach. We can watch the boats, and just enjoy nature every day in paradise. Our kids seem to feel the same way!

New Year's Eve to Remember

Thanks to Karen and Don- The photos actually didn't quite do the place justice... the view of the ocean can only be experienced to be totally appreciated. A Publix grocery right across the street was an added plus Kayaking with the manatees nearby was one of our highlighted adventures along with enjoyable sunsets and bike rides. A great New Years Eve was spent sitting on the beach after the sunset and watching all the various fireworks displays up and down the beach for the rest of the evening. Very Special.
Owner response:Teresa, Hope to see you again for another New Year's Eve! Don&Karen

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Shores and surrounding area. The accomodations were excellent and the general area was beautiful. The location was very handy to shopping and many good reataurants. The sunsets from the balcony were especially beautiful. The beach was very pleasant and clean. We enjoyed our morning and evening walks along the shore. Thanks to The Shores for providing an excellent vacation week.

From the moment we walked into this condo we knew this was a special place. First thing we noticed was the view of the gulf from the windows, but when we stepped out onto the lanai we had a panoramic view of nearly the entire Fort Myers Beach coastline... it truly was breathtaking. The grounds between the condo and the beach had a large patio area with two Tiki huts for shade and plenty of beach chairs for soaking up the sun. Three steps down off the patio and we were on the beach and just 30-35 feet from the water. The view from the lanai and the patio area afforded us the pleasure of watching stingrays swimming near the water's edge and dolphins cruising by just a few hundred feet away. The comfort of the condo itself provided everything we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves, even on a rainy day. The most spectacular part of each day was sitting on the lania in the evening, sipping a glass of wine as we watched the sun set over Sanibel Island in the west. The whole environment provided a respite from a busy world!
Owner response:Bill, We share the same feelings... Thanks, Don & Karen

We loved the condo, it was beautiful in more ways than one. I guess I thought there was a pool when we booked but you know we didn't even miss it. We had so much fun walking the beach and exploring with the bikes. This was the very best condo we have rented in that area and we hope to return. I just had one question are all the condo's one bedroom units? I just loved it because it was so quiet. I'm use to children running around, which I don't mind but it was just peaceful. We found that the crowd was really down. We went to both of the outlet malls and checked out some of your 55 plus housing communities. Thanks for a lovely time. Sorry I forgot to sign your book, but we were so tired at the end of the day and I forget to do it.. Thanks, Alan and Paula Stout

We enjoyed the morningrun along the beach, watching dolphins jumping in the rising sun as well as an earlybird-golfround at the BayBeach-Course. Shoping in the nearby Malls and Outletts was like Paradise to us. Feeling real speed on the Key West Express to a place, where life music and easy living is taking place every evening. What a vacation! Plenty of sun and seafood and friendly people, what else do you need to live happy and healthy. We hope to come there again soon. Bernard & Christine
