Lae Nani condo description
A favorite for honeymooners and couples celebrating an anniversary. With over 20 Lae Nani condos advertised on VRBO, why select this one? There are 3 reasons: First, the view of the ocean and Wailua Bay is spectacular. Second, the tropical décor is charming.
Third, our location on the island is the best.
The condo features a living and dining area, a nicely equipped full kitchen, bedroom with King bed, 1.5 baths, and an outdoor lanai (deck) so close to the ocean that you could toss a piece of fruit into it. The background sound of the ocean is very restful as you lie in bed at night. There are 2 flat screen TVs, a DVR, stereo, and free wireless internet. The condo property manager is a horticulturist and the lush grounds are more of a botanical garden than a condo complex. The property includes a large swimming pool, tennis courts, and laundry room. Restaurants and shopping are very nearby, some within walking distance.
Lae Nani’s location on Kauai’s Coconut Coast is ideal. It is roughly equidistant to either the north shore (Hanalei) or the south and west shores (Poipu and Waimea.) The shopping and restaurants of Kapaa and Lihue are nearby, as are several golf courses and numerous other activities (hike, snorkel, surf, kayak, zip line, helicopter rides, boat rides, tropical gardens, etc.)
Perhaps the biggest selling point of Unit 333 is what prior guests have said in the guestbook over the last 12 years. A sampling:

We were very pleasantly surprised upon entering our Lae Nani condo. The view is the first thing we noticed and from that moment we knew we were in for a relaxing and very comfortable retreat. The condo is exceptionally clean with very tasteful furnishings and a wonderful bed. The grounds are pristine and beautiful; the beach although not large is perfect for sunbathing and maybe a dip or two when the waves cooperate. The complex is within walking distance of some shopping and restaurants and not far by car to many restaurants as well as grocery shopping. An exceptionally good Mexican restaurant we found is Verde in the Kapaa Shopping Center near Big Save. We liked staying at Lae Nani because it was easy to drive north or south to explore the island. The only problem is we weren't able to stay long enough and have vowed we need to return!

This complex is gated and safe with well groomed grounds. Beautiful pool with barely anyone using it. We had the pool all to ourselves for the several days we used it. The gas BBQ used for most of our cooking was clean and in good working order. Unit 333 on the third floor had an excellent southeast view of the ocean. The unit itself was very clean and comfortable with a king size bed. Seem like it had a feather bed under as it was very comfortable. Master bath was a good size room with a few Kauai made soaps, gel, lotions left for us. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking ware but it would have been nice if there were a few more spices included besides the salt and pepper. There was almost always a ocean breeze and it was never too hot for us as we kept the patio door open most of the time. Ceiling fan in bedroom, dining and living room also help with keeping the place cool. Overall a very nice unit and we would definitely come back on our next visit to Kauai. I would highly recommend this unit all my friends and family.

Our Best Stay in Kauai in 15 Years
Our Best Stay in Kauai in 15 Years
We have been coming to Kauai for 15 years, ever since Our son moved here. We have stayed in many different places including the Waipouli Resort but our best "vacation" was this year when we stayed in Unit 333 in the Lae Nai, Wailua. First we love the area for our walks along the Ocean and its close to shopping and dining. But best of all were the views and location of the condo. We could swim in the pool or right out front on a beautiful beach. The condo was in very nice condition and very clean. Some tenants obviously did not take great care of the carpet but was easily over looked as soon as you saw the views of the ocean and mountains. We were a little concerned thinking of the 3rd floor walk up but it was a piece of cake. We highly recommend this unit and will tell all of our friends and family coming in from the east coast they must stay here. And now that we live here full time ourselves we hope to make it our Beach Get Away. Roy and Lena (they manage the unit) were the best. We got locked out once and Roy was there in 5 min. Great People. Thanks

Manager response: We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. The carpet, although almost new, does indeed have some spots where a recent guest spilled a chemical which caused a little bleaching in spots. To prevent that in the future, in late November we are having the carpet removed and high quality real hardwood flooring installed throughout. But as you note, when you walk in and see the ocean view you forget about the bleach spots in the carpet. We hope you return to Lae Nani 333 again. Aloha, John & Susan (owners)
Wonderful Condo on the Beach and Inexpensive, too!
Wonderful Condo on the Beach and Inexpensive, too!
We were very fortunate to stay a week in #333 of Lae Nani on the Coconut Coast of Kauai. The view is spectacular, looking south across the grounds and over the beach, with the mountains in the background. Perhaps only the units in Bldg 5 of Lae Nani have a better view, looking due east over the ocean, but as my wife rightly pointed out, then you have the hot morning burning into your window, so it is really a personal preference. The unit is very tastefully furnished, as the photos accurately show, with light rattan furniture. The kitchen is updated with modern appliances. There is a fan in the living room and another in the bedroom. The bathrooms were spacious and in good condition. There is a portable music center (CD, tape player, radio) in the unit. The kitchen is replete with everything you could need, including a coffee maker, corkscrew, wine glasses, dish soap, and so on. The unit was perfectly clean and prepared for our visit. When, as sometimes happens, one of the toilets would not flush, a call to Roy produced an almost instantaneous repair. Otherwise, everything was perfect. As for the Lae Nani as a whole, it is on a less-traveled road just off the main drag in Wailua, so it is exceptionally quiet and peaceful, no noise of traffic. The condo attracts both families and couples, but everyone was notably pleasant, courteous, and friendly. There was no annoying noise from yelling children or loud music from wild partiers. The grounds of the Lae Nani are so beautiful, the pool excellent, and the small private beach just wonderful. I enjoyed very good snorkeling there in the morning. I think many people found Lae Nani so beautiful and pleasant that they hardly left the property. For a reason never explained, Roy offered us a discount because we were Costco members, so this fabulous condo was less expensive than even cheap hotel rooms. There are too many excellent and well-known activities and attractions nearby to mention them all. The obvious ones include kayaking on the Wailua, swimming and snorkeling, and shopping at nearby Kapa'a. I will tip you off to two places in what looks like an abandoned shopping center a five minute walk north. First, the Fish Hut serves the best (and cheapest) grilled fish sandwich on the island. And Trees has great food and drinks, and on Monday evenings one of the best rock guitarists ever, Jeff Caldwell. Don't miss it! For all these reasons, I give #333 at the Lae Nani my highest recommendation.
